Had a great exhaust guy build me a whole mandrel bend catback for my old 98 LSC years ago. All 2.5", Dynomax dual in / dual out muffler with internal x-pipe. Turned out amazing and definitely felt a big difference in acceleration. I have an exhaust video in my channel as well (just a few revs)
I got a 98 Mark 8 LSC and I chopped off mid cat, passenger side cat, mufflers, and resonators. I started with 2.25 x pipe off a newer Dodge Charger or Chrysler 300 3.6L I connected that to both banks, I used 2.25 up to the passenger side manifold and welded it to the factory connector. I used a 1 7/8 pipe adapter to connect the driver's side collector which still has the cat installed due to it being made into that manifold. Don't cut that manifold it is hard to find and install with the engine in lol. After the 2.25 in x pipe I used a 2.25-2.5 adapter on both sides and ran 2.5 in all the way back following the factory exhaust trail and ended my exhaust with a dual 3.5 tips so I have dual quad pipes, car sounds mean I wish I could send you guys a clip of it. I like you guys work and it's good to see someone working on a car I love instead of just ripping the motor out for another car.
Dat Was Genius, King... I gotta '96, bout to order Pacesetter Headers, 2.5 adapters & x-pipe, & 2.5 shop-custom dual exhaust No Resi, No Mufflers.. what you did was crazy tho, SALUTE
Great job guys.. I just picked up a 97 mark viii as a cheap toy. Time to go to my local speed shop " Home Depot" for parts and sawzall blades, lol. Looking forward to more of this build.
Just subscribed. Cool video and info. I ran my 97 Mark VIII without the 3rd cat and mufflers, and basically the same intake setup. I remember it felt like a huge power gain in upper rpm, but it did loose some of the the low end torque; and the 0-30 wasn't as good. I'm curious to see the results of no cats at all now too, and maybe some 0-60 times with just the exhaust and intake modifications your doing.
I have a 98 Mark 8, not an L.S.C., but its fast as hell just like it is. Unless I can get my engine horsepower rating up to above 300HP, it doesn't make much since to me to modify. Even with the true dual exhaust on the L.S.C. models, the HP was only up to 290. Mine is at 280. Really not much difference between the two. I'm one of those guys who doesn't like to mess with original designs unless a huge benefit can be done. I guess the new chips can get that HP up in a hurry without doing much else to it, but I would like to have true dual exhaust with a kick ass sound too. I may do that.
That we do! There's been a lot going on in the past few weeks. But I can report that we did a burnout in the Mark VIII yesterday. We'll get an update for you soon
Sounds good I just picked up my 1997 mark 8 it’s definitely a beat did y’all by chance replace valve cover gasket I can’t seem to figure it out on the driver side..... I’ve moved everything out of the way basically
I hope you guys continue with this build i'm working with a 94 lincoln and every bit of info helps, thanks guys.
Me Too Fam, 1996.. Wish You The Best, Lets Get It!!!

Let’s test some headers!! 👍
Coming soon!
The reason for exhaust and intake being how they were is it's a luxury car and they wanted it quiet.

What happened to this? It's been a year and no more power updates.
Where it makes peak power is pretty much right on the money now
I would love to Coyote swap a Mark VIII!

Who knew Tony Hawk drove a Lincoln? Did this project get canned?
Thats now a hot air intake lol
where can i find that mass air flow adapter and cone filter i have a 1995 mark viii
At AutoZone you can find it, it's a Spectre brand for 99-04 Mustang GT.
@@lanewarriorillridez3739 thank you so much I was trying to get my 95 Mark VIII like yours
What diameter is the tubing coming out of the first set of cats?
It's an odd section as it's double walled. The inside diameter is approximately 1-7/8", so in normal hot rod terms that's a 2" pipe.
What happened to the car
Need more videos. 🤣

What's with all these guys saying pounds feet of torque? It's always been for pounds, it sounds stupid the other way.
