Fram oil filter is not recommended for this engine
Great job , but what was the CR?
I have a 4.6L V8 SOHC 24-valve my 2007 Ford Explorer. I am not a ‘mechanic’ but have done a ton of work on this vehicle so pretty familiar with ‘the basics’, all oils and fluids changed, spark plugs, air and fuel filters, etc.Vehicle has 250,000+ miles on it. Slight ticking on startup from exhaust manifold, which I’ll address next spring. Question: fuel economy has dropped off so I am looking for suggestions on what to check? Water pump, Serpentine belt, Steering and brake fluids are new. Second question, I may pull the motor next spring and would like to know in addition to new oil pump should I put in a new timing chain (or keep the chain, just change the guides and tensioners) and what else should I do when I have the engine out? Thanks felllas, enjoy your videos
Love the car and videos fellas! The purple people eater is safe with me! I'll keep you updated to the changes made! Thank you!
When I was looking for a first car, I really wanted a foxbody, but there were no v8 foxbodies without major issues in my area at that time. But there was an s197 for cheap, needed tlc, didn't have the 5.0 but I decided why not? I love that car now. And I love this car, its a mix between two of the cars I love the most. I should make one of these one day
Thats now a hot air intake lol
What intake are you using ?
Just bought a 97 LSC 😩
i have a romeo 4.6 iron block from a 2valve f150 and i want to know if i can build it with a 3v heads
Great video. A parts list would be extremely helpful
Did bro put earth bound music in this
Thought about running e85 .? Maybe it will reach them 400+
What ever happen to this
Hey, do you all have a list of all the parts you used for the engine? Im looking at possibly building a 3V and am not sure where to start. Thanks in advance!
What stage head porting did you order from livernois?
Why is there so much slack in the chain
11-12 gt500 5.4 blocks were aluminum as well as the 13-14. The navigator 5.4 was iron. The only one that was aluminum was the 4.6 4v in the Mk8.
My heads are not assembled. 2007 mustang gt 4.6 3v. All my valves are flush with the cylinder head. As long as i am at tdc with cylinder 1, do i have to worry about valve to piston contact when i reinstall my cylinder heads to thr block?
What bhp did U get
Change the intake manifold
Very nice! I really want to build my 3v for more boost, but i've been waiting and hoping, praying that ford will start producing the 5.3L short block again.
Oh and also its a good idea to swap out lower cam gear with a comp cam adjustable gear to be able to dial cam timing in where it needs to be to get top horse power out of this block.
Like your video .saying that I do have a issue with your build. 1 after you pulled pin on tensioner you rotated motor to the left. THAT IS A NO NO ! The tensioner will click out and tightens the cam chain to tight. Chain stretch and possible failure will result to chain and guides! After pulling pins ONLY rotate engine to the right! Also by locking out phasers its a good idea to remove phaser Solenoids and tap holes and install plugs to block the oil flow to phaser. Increasing the psi to cam journals. Needed because the cast tensioner sqirts oil on chain and plastic don't..
What transmission are runing with that swap?
I do have 1 still n love wit it!
It's rare to see a 3v foxbody most people coyote swap or terminator swap them nice to see something different every once in awhile
How did this build end up? Did you get any performance data like 1/8th or 1/4 mile? Love it
LOL the grill is another $300-500 these days.
Who knew Tony Hawk drove a Lincoln? Did this project get canned?
horrible body kit
What's with all these guys saying pounds feet of torque? It's always been for pounds, it sounds stupid the other way.
Where are the new videos guys?
Great car!!!!
Friggin awsome brother. That's really good N/a horse power. You can make alot more but like you said this isn't squeezing every ounce of power its about reliability. I am with you. I want reliability.
Thank you guys. I have been contemplating building a 3v for my Vic. I have started but I could have gone 2v or 3v. I'm going the 3v way. You made what I'm looking for and that's about 400 horse. The Crown Vic is a heavy girl so it'll help get her moving. The 2v takes alot of money to get there. Most use boost to get to 4 to 450 on a stock block Vic. I want to go N/a and I don't want to go 4v. They are too expensive. Parts are alot. Yes you can make alot of power with them but I am going the 3v way. Thank you. I will be looking for new videos from you guys.
Awsome content guys. I am working on swapping a 3v in my 03'Crown Vic.. the 2v computer will run it. I just have to lock out the phasers. How's come you guys haven't made any new videos?
You guys are very helpful, I have some questions if you would have time to help me out with them. Very informative videos for sure.
I have a 09 5.4 3v. In process of rebuild. Added new Lunati cams (mild street). Upgraded behive springs. .550 And partial locked out cam phasers. Just wondering about how much gap I need and how much I should shim the addjusters.
Also more information on swimming the lash adjusters
Just wondering what you payed for the head work at Livernois?
Did you break your car or is it fine? 🤔 lol
Going to want to build my 3v too thank you for the videos 📹
Good video appreciate watching you guys building
20% gain is great!
Love Alex's Stalker!
Like the videos on the 3v I bought a 2005 mustang gt it had a rod knocking when I got it took the engine out and tore it down I put a new crankshaft and rods in the motor came with the ford racing intake on it with hot rod cams also changed the lash adjusters and followers the engine runs good just wanted say like the videos u put out thanks
Do u have a link for that “slick” tool
I wish you guys were in Michigan because I need this for my 98 LSC.
I’m hoping for similar power
What are you running for engine management? Stock harness or a control pack?
