My Dad got one of these recently. He let me have a go and I was blown away by the turn of speed; it's a seriously fun bike! Folding it in a decent time is an art form.
Love my old "lightweight" (Ti rear triangle and forks) Brompton. More than ten years old and still going strong - its my second Brompton after I lost my 1st by leaving it in the boot of a Taxi when I was late for the baby sitter and drunk (why I was in a taxi not on the Bromie to start with)....
I think this is rather their tech demo / hypercar equivalent, what sours this a bit: there are self upgraded bromptons on the steel frame which are as light. I would have loved to see greater range / more gears for this. I struggle a lot with my c-line. Both because of the weight and the gearing. It‘s a great bike, I love it and I think they cash in on this love
This is a pretty typical pattern in bike world, as the weight goes down the price goes up exponentially. Over time the tech filters down, like the new derailleur for example, and the more reasonable price bikes get better.
That's what you are paying for light and efficient. It takes a lot less watts to go a given speed and distance on a light efficient bike. Than on a cheap heavy clumsy bike. The same reason nobody in their right mind is going to enter the Tour De France on a 26lb Trek FX2 costing £500.. But a 16lb Cervelo costing 10k plus..
Seeing you vlog in London reminds me of the early days before you even hit 10k subs, I always enjoyed seeing you go around town. Also Re-watched the entire Australia vlog on my flight from Fiji to Australia…snake!
Great Video thank you. I actually one of the owners of this bile. I love it - the only thing that is a bit uncomfortable to me is the saddle. But everything else is amazing.
What are you doing about it 😅🙏🏽? I bought the C line electric. Real pain in the a.. but otherwise it’s a beauty . Let me know if you took any other saddle options or fine now?
Morning all. I have a question not sure if this is the best place to ask. I have an old carbon trek Y33. It’s a full suspension mountain bike from the mid/early 1990’s. Is there a way for me to change out the suspension if I am only doing road rides? Not sure where to start and don’t want to mess up the bike either.
After owning 2 electric Bromptons and handing them back for a refund due to not working time after time I will never own a Brompton again. I purchased 2 R&M Tinkers and what great e-bikes they are.
Haha they don't age though. I still have one I bought in 2014 and it rides exactly as it did back then with nothing more than a new chain. Still too heavy compared to the new Ti one! :D
Loved the video guys , not as enjoyable however was the Brompton recent April 21 event , that curiously after a few choice comments I was able to purchase a T line despite not originally being selected , I was full of excitement until being told there was a 12 week wait despite having my card charged which seems unfair , when a deposit should have sufficed .
So I am curious about the redesign on the hinge pin for the main frame and handle bar joints I noticed in some pictures it has a bolt and a sleeve kind of like the hinge bolt that attaches the rear triangle and frame is this a part that might find it’s way to standard bromptons? Is it more user repairable? Is it more durable?
Weight doesnt always mean faster. My Tern verge X11 weighs 23.5lbs and cost £2400. And it will leave this TLINE for dead on the street. And on steep hills especially. Its about power transfer. And frame stiffness. And no folder has a stiffer frame than the X11. Or more efficient power transfer from foot to back wheel.
You know, I know many that have 3rd party modified Bromptons. All he’s missing is carbon wheels. I’ve also replaced the little roller wheels with skateboard wheels so it’s easier to roll at the train station
I recently saw a post on Reddit concerning skateboard wheels. Apparently there seems to be a problem due to the wheels being comparably harder and therefore transferring more energy to the frame. People are recording cracks at the point of connection between wheel holding thing and rear triangle. You might want to look into that.
As an owner of the former Top, 2019 flame painted, black version SuperlightM6LXBrompton I have made it even lighter in every way I was able to. The clips for the mudguards titanium stays (Heavy Metal!) + a new titanium seat post and all the minor parts to find, mostly (I still need to change a few). I may not come quite come down to the new titanium version (for now 8,5 kilo, with mudguards!!), but I still have 6 gears, which I need. And I don't like the new pedal system, which may be lost, if unlucky during Transport (The Bromptons real purpose as it is a horrible bike!). Finn. Denmark
I got my bike from new in my local Brompton Shop, with a "Scandinavian Size" (?), 600 mm seat post and now, for a test (Still being a 184 cm, heavy man) I have also changed to a 535 mm standard length, seat post, made from titanium, and still with the wide end bottom, to prevent theft! When I tried to buy one extra, Standard Post from Brompton, I found out, that for the price I could buy a "Black Titanium" seat post from China, so I did this of course (It feels very solid, so I'm not scared of the quality!).
Great to see that Brompton is finally feeling the pressure to innovate and experiment with new materials, now that their patent/monopoly on the trifold has expired and competition in trifolds is growing. Of all the bits not to go titanium... I would totally swap out that fork for titanium. Doesn't the p-line have titanium forks? Why didn't they just use those? At least if it was a steel fork, you could slap an ebike kit on it as a future upgrade. Also, don't most folks prefer the faster and simpler folding pedals? Half the guy's folding time was just fumbling with the pedal. And all those extra holes are going to fill wth grit and moisture. I foresee 3rd party rubber stoppers gallore. One of the massive selling points of titaniun is it is corrosion resistant, but that doesn't matter if all your steel components and screws rust into place. Why not titanium screws if they really wanted the lightest bike possible? I thought titanium was as strong as steel, but lighter? There is some engineering I am not understanding as to why they had to make the frame tubes so fat and ugly compared to their sleek steel ones, like fat cheap aluminum frames. Also the bike is unnecessarily loud, like a cicada from hell. Users can always add noise in the form of bells or horns etc. but it is hard to make something already noisy quieter. Noisy is great in cities where you got to make sure cars know you are there, but noise can ruin tranquil nature rides. If I wanted noise, I'd jump on a motorcycle or wedge a playing card over the spokes. Lots of great improvements otherwise, such as ripping off 3rd party magnetic aligners, or the more future-proofed hinge pins, or being able to lock the fold with the seatpost only half down. But disappointing that those straight up improvements are not being introduced to all of the Brompton lines.
It is disappointingly ugly. I love what my Brompton looks like, and love what my Ti road bike looks like, and a lot of that is because of the old-school super skinny frames. Was expecting this to look nicer. Light though!
Brompton superlight and some limited editions like CHPT3 had titanium forks and rear triangle for years. The current P line which replaces the superlight still has titanium fork and the rear triangle is also titanium but it has been re-engineered almost entirely. As per titanium and steel - yes, the strength of titanium is roughly as strong as steel and it weighs around 40% less. However it is also significantly less stiff than steel hence the tube diameter need to be larger.
Re the pedals, no, many of us don’t prefer the folding pedal. First change I make to any new Brompton is to replace the pedals. MKS pedals are popular for good reasons, and there are lighter options available for the weight weenies. I wish the P-line came with the new T-line pedals.
Has anyone electrified the T line (with a Swytch kit or similar)? The guy at the Brompton store said it's not advisable due to the carbon fork, but I don't understand why
Do it. Get a second hand one with an appropriate amount of gears for you. I thought it was a bit expensive but now I’m gonna give it to my partner and get a new one for myself. So handy.
I was thinking about asking a Chinese titanium Brompton manufacturer if they can make a 135mm OLD with a detailer hanger with a 20 inch wheel. Not sure if the mech would encumer folding. ... And rhe bottom bracket,, I'd want a typical BSA
Are you sponsored by tubolito or have any relation to them because to me they realy ride extremly harsch. Like switching to a cheap tire or overtensioned wheel. just terrific
External gear Bromptons are great and considering the T-Line is 7kg+ from the shop, it's quite an achievement for a trifold bike. I have seen even lighter custom Bromptons at 6kg+ & 5kg+ too! But yet to see someone mod a trifold to 3kg+ like the 3.3kg Cannondale Supersix Hi-Mod custom build.
Here’s a thing. Even if you are 80 kilos and 60 years old, in good to excellent shape living in an arid climate and on this 7kilo plus bike, I do not believe you will climb any faster than on the 6speed Black edition from 2018. ( I own one ) It weighs just under 11 kilos after tweaking it. Please, correct me if I am wrong. I get it. Brompton are in a class of their own, no doubt. I have a Moots titanium hard tail made in the late 80s ( and tried the Ti version 1 ) and I still cannot move any faster… Love the bike though. Just need to convince myself of partying with 5k.
I've been riding this bike for about a month ruclips.net/user/postUgkxwC0IIeIomGQVeBWg-kKJaToZkLEFIA2W and a half now and I think it's fantastic. It helps me get to work on time every day since I'm able to fit it inside of public transportation rush hour. The price is great too, people are always shocked when they ask me how much I paid for the fold up and I tell them "200". It's easy to fold and installation when it ships is insanely easy. All you have to install when the bike arrives is one foot pedal, everything else is done for you. I do recommend you carry some sort of wrench to tighten any loose screws on the handle bar and seat whenever they get a little bit loose. Other than that I think it's a fantastic bike. Easily fits in the home, can fit inside a car trunk and can even fit in subway rush hour.
For some reason, Brompton have become fashionable. So people with more money than sense, will pay whatever Brompton think they can get away with. The world’s gone mad.
Cycling industry? No, more on globalization part! Basically you can ask whatever you want, everything is global and 5000 customers in Germany 20000 in China just example and T line is huge success! They will never made such a bike if us just UK market
It’s titanium. Even the cheapest of titanium frames made in china or taiwan cost 2.5K pounds. 4K for a full bike made in the UK doesn’t seem egregious to me, it’s what you get when using expensive materials to make a quality produce and pay your workers a decent wage. There are way cheaper options in steel.

Soo good to see Chris again! Sending greets from Germany!
Bromptons are so fun to ride normally this has to be next level!
Titanium Folding is the name of my new post-emo band
Metal Guru .
Admire the craft and Brompton's whole product offering - but Jesus 4k on a folding bike *head explodes*
I think this is rather their tech demo / hypercar equivalent, what sours this a bit: there are self upgraded bromptons on the steel frame which are as light. I would have loved to see greater range / more gears for this. I struggle a lot with my c-line. Both because of the weight and the gearing. Buy parts from AliExpress and build one

What a fantastic bike!
Just bought one this year. So much fun as a change from my Endurace. Great for trips.
Wish they'd figure out how to get belt drives to work.
I wish someone would do a RUclips video showing a folded bike being put into a gym locker or similar as that's why I want one.
The folded dimensions are on the spec sheet.
It’s pretty great to be able to not have to worry about it getting stolen as it is always with me.
I too work for Brompton, I’ve been waiting for this 😁
Aero position on a Brompton!!! 🤣😂
Brilliant!!
I wonder whether handlebar vibration has reduced with having carbon forks and steerer? That’s always been a pain on long bumpy rides.
talking about parts on the bike, camera pointed at his face so we have no idea what he's talking about, inspired camera work

‘Bile’. Yes, you got one thing right.
What are you doing about it 😅🙏🏽? I bought the C line electric. Real pain in the a.. but otherwise it’s a beauty . Let me know if you took any other saddle options or fine now?
I got a selle Italia saddle now that I love. For some reason saddles that are a little more flat are better for my bones.
These Bromptons are crying for a wireless groupset mod. That would just make me so happy...for some reason.
NO
yes and wireless rear brake !!
Neeks
@@phillblake6829 I actually did just google Neeks wireless breaking system thinking it was a bit of tech had never heard of
Imagine the day bromptons start coming with disc brakes
Morning all. I have a question not sure if this is the best place to ask. I have an old carbon trek Y33. It’s a full suspension mountain bike from the mid/early 1990’s. Is there a way for me to change out the suspension if I am only doing road rides? Not sure where to start and don’t want to mess up the bike either.
If you're referring to a suspension fork (heavy) just swap for a road fork. You'll get a big reduction in weight.
I find this bike way more awesome than you average carbon sled, now just to win the lottery...
I'd like to know how the fixings are redundant are as you go lighter it becomes of greater importance
After owning 2 electric Bromptons and handing them back for a refund due to not working time after time I will never own a Brompton again. I purchased 2 R&M Tinkers and what great e-bikes they are.
I guess the Bromptons we bought last year are now vintage.
😂 was thinking the same thing 🤣
Haha they don't age though. I still have one I bought in 2014 and it rides exactly as it did back then with nothing more than a new chain.
Still too heavy compared to the new Ti one! :D
Welcome back (to basically my doorstep!)
I waited and waited. Finally gave up and bought a gravel bike for half the price and twice the fun off roading.
Would love to try one of these. I currently have a Tern X11 which 2.5K. It weights 10.5 kgs but 22 inches
Main frame looks so crisp
So I am curious about the redesign on the hinge pin for the main frame and handle bar joints I noticed in some pictures it has a bolt and a sleeve kind of like the hinge bolt that attaches the rear triangle and frame is this a part that might find it’s way to standard bromptons? Can I asked if T line rear wheel also slightly closer to the right side of the triangle tube ?
ye got a cameo from mad Harry ..luv it
francis helm straps looking clean
Does it have a turning signals?
only if the rider has arms.
The fastest road/cross racer I amongst my friends commutes on his brompton every single day.

I was told $10,000+aud by the brompton dealer here in Australia. Seems absurd the manuf doesn’t specify a msrp for this country.
Buy a Btwin tilt 120 instead
Francis, love the content mate but maybe I missed something, I see James and bike fit Tuesday are no longer happening is there a particular reason??
As an owner of the former Top, 2019 flame painted, black version SuperlightM6LXBrompton I have made it even lighter in every way I was able to. would love an import brompton that cut costs down

I can't wait for my 20" wheel folding bike, £1k less than this and estimated 7.3kg when ready rideable, maybe with mudguards, 10 speed too
What a stuttering mess I turn into when talking on camera 😅
In that price bracket, I'd be very concerned about theft. A folding bike cannot always be taken indoors can it?
I was thinking about asking a Chinese titanium Brompton manufacturer if they can make a 135mm OLD with a detailer hanger with a 20 inch wheel.
Not sure if the mech would encumer folding.

do anyone know which model of chris king headset that can fit into t line?
They are cool. Expensive but cool.
Saying hi from Canada
I got a Brompton last year and now it's out fashion. 😞
Could use some ascent deep dish carbon wheels
My Brompton is my favourite bike.
... why not one that have drop bars ... flared perhaps? think about that brompton.
I'd like to know where the pedal connects to for stowing, anyone?
Hi Chris
🙌
Are you sponsored by tubolito or have any relation to them because to me they realy ride extremly harsch. Like switching to a cheap tire or overtensioned wheel. just terrific
no, they did send me some a few years ago though, now I'm pretty much tubeless on everything - I think they feel as good as riding tubeless
@@Cade_Media funny because to me and some friends it feels horrible and we all took them of again

This is very cool, but I would still kill for a carbon fibre Moulton with an original shape frame. Come on people, get that FEA and CAD going!
Thanks for the CHPT3 shoutout! 🙌🏼
Lightest bike with the heaviest hit on the wallet. It may still worth it for some people.
Mr Cade, tell us about riding rules in Richmond Park pls? I heard it was closed for cyclists? Is it only allowed during weekdays?
Seems to be open to cyclists, but lots of it was closed to cars when we were there
Are people still taking the rear wheel off to fix a puncture? Err.. why? It usually isn't necessary.
Many people don't want to deal with patching a flat while on a ride, easier to swap tubes.
Roadbikes need those pedals for security!

Brompoton are EXPENSIVE AS FFFUU CK. The most expensive bike.
An e-Brompton how cool 😎
That is mighty fine!
Thanks Francis.....that's very cool , eh ? Cameo from Harry . he's a maniac..Peace
An honest review from someone who works there 🤦♂️🤷♂️🙄
This is not a review Ollie.
I just seen this on Aliexpress lol, insane
Brompton made in China
Man... Francis!!! Those Helmets straps need a good clean... ;)
Find out more here: www.brompton.com/t-line
I think I'll sign my M6R over to my wife and get in line for the P Line.
Nice Tech but that's $8k Aussie for a folding bike.. Yeah Nah :P.
I thought they are too slow due to the small wheels..
'There's only so much we can do with steel' ..sure, if you stick with lardy 4130 Cro Mo, I agree.

Since Jun 2022 with 2000 km on the mileage.
Heavy and expensive . Noice
When the inevitable eccentric midlife crisis hits, I now know what to blow my money on
Yuck, gimmie 2 normie Brommies and call it a day, one for me and one for my lady, those Brommies have aesthetics and function on their side.
watch out for them scooter boy thieves in the Park!!!
This is the perfect example of what's being wrong in the cycling industry! 4000 pounds for this? Seriously?
Not sure it is compulsory to buy a 4K T line ?
Cycling industry? No, more on globalization part! Basically you can ask whatever you want, everything is global and 5000 customers in Germany 20000 in China just example and T line is huge success! They will never made such a bike if us just UK market
There is also a sub £1000 version. Buts heavier. Made in the UK though...
You can pick up a second hand one for a lot less. I feel naked without it. Immensely liberating feeling having a very portable folding bike.
It’s titanium. Make it all carbon, price it 10k and hit redbull rampage. Stupidest idea ever.
Luckily.... they still keeping the original or C Line. This one is on its way out.... dont do it.
Just wait someone lost it hahaahahaha
He said it 4Pound Weight!
Brompton, when u make the TLine Light with Hub gear 6speeds then we talk.
4k is too much for a commuter bike lol
Please can you clean up your salty helmets straps, it stresses me out every time I watch your videos, thanks Francis x
nope
