I miss the badlands, I used to go there and ride dirt bikes when I was a teenager and drive my TJ there in my 20's. Once I get my YJ done, some year, I plan on taking it to the badlands to go play in the mud.
Of course it's all good but I appreciate the rock crawling moments the most. This is GOOD therapy for our trip to SMORR. A group from northwest Iowa leaving tomorrow morning.
Looks like an awesome place to go off roading!, thanks for sharing this trip with us. Man how did you get 5.6K thumbs up on a video that’s been up for 16 hours and 348 views? YT messing up and the stats.
It has to be a glitch because it says like 34 on my side😂 it was definitely a super fun weekend. My third time there but probably the first time getting into that big stuff
I used to hit the Badlands with the Great Lakes Jeep Thing club back in the day. It was always a fun sloppy mess. I spent many a New Year's Day there. I moved to Arizona last year and am finishing up my 1-ton build. No more sloppy rocks for me. Good video.
yessss! can’t wait until i can get my 89 yeej out into the rockies again 😊 this brought me so much joy to see how well the short wheelbase handles stuff like this. i’m the only 2 door anything in my group so it’s always great to see representation 🤘🏻
@@FlawedOffroad still though! if anything with the crawling you guys do it’s smart cause prevents you going ass over teakettle 😂 haven’t flopped mine yet but i know it’ll happen some day, hopefully not soon cause it’s my daily but further down the line it’ll probably happen. i tend to goose it too much 🙃
@@FlawedOffroad ya that's good money spent. How do you like the iroks now that you've had a little time with them? Here in Washington around me the trails are slippery like that with a few more roots thrown in. Appreciate any feedback.
@@joshuaatkins5197 that was really my first chance to break them in other than Iowa Jeep show. they are way better than what I had, the few dry spots I found they hooked up good
I use to crawl my cheerokee. But no video. I was so into my Jeep but had to sale it since two motors in I gave up. It was lifted and nice. But had to sale it. Now Jeep tj. Not crawler ready frame welds done so it looks nice but no crawl time. Just woods run in it. I might try to find another Jeep
Front is 5/8 lift rear is 1 inch lift and they are two different brands also. They used to all be the 1 inch version bought from a guy named Bersk or Besrk on Jeepforum, i’m not sure what brand the 5/8 ones are that I put on the front or why I even did that lol.
I'm nervous because I haven't driven my jeep on the road yet with the shackle reversal, but considering how many times it hung you up I have no regrets. I want a leaf spring hoodie, but I'll have to burn it if you link the poor yj 😂.
I always saw the shackle reversal as more of a road jeep mod. supposed to make the road manners much better. But it hangs down too,(and I always felt they look ugly) not to mention your tire goes up and in closer to the tub instead of up and out when you stuff tire, effectively pulling it somewhat away from what your trying to climb. As for the links, its been tossed around but if I do it, its only going to be the rear
Did you get a long slip for your driveline? Hope so. Your tire moving up and back is a pretty natural movement and doesn't upset the rest of the Jeep very much. That's why it gives it better street manners. On my front shackle setup when I hit a speed bump the axle moves forward as it goes up so the axle hits it hard, and all of the shock transfers thru the solid mounted end of the spring into the frame and your butt.🍻
@@joshuaatkins5197 yep that’s why I said I’ve always considered it to be more of a street mod. If you were asking me, yes I have the Adams driveshaft with probably seven or 8 inches of blue on the spline plus the extra 2” or so at the top that doesn’t have the blue Teflon coating stuff. I haven’t been nice to the adams shafts but they holding up great
@@joshuaatkins5197 I havent gotten the drivelines done yet but im getting the long slip for that reason. Got the jbe super short sye in the rear. I gotta plumb and redo the brakes on the 14 bolt then the shafts measured and made by the shop. Then I can finally measure for shocks.

Ill stick to the rocks...even if they're muddy too

Have fun. Smorr is where I first took my jeep after I put the full width axles in, that place is awesome

Glad you liked it! To be fair mine is stretched a modest 5" over stock so its about 98" wb

that little rock garden on top of the hill will get you about everytime
you referring to where it took me an hour to go 100 feet? lol
@@FlawedOffroad that would be the one.
I want a redo when its dry haha@@8Lugproductions
@@FlawedOffroad let me know when
That was some serious slop. Lotta fun, though. I might have to make a trip up there one day.
It’s worth it but you have to know where to find the good stuff there because most of the park is geared more toward ATVs
Looks like you had a blast!
That we did, thanks for checkin out the vid!
Dude you need a front locker. I know you drive it on the road, but a real front locker will be a game changer. Sweet video!
I’ve got one for the Dana 60 that’s getting swapped into the front. That axle is a eight lug 44 that’s under the Jeep right now
I have been watching those videos too! Get that bad boy swapped!! I pretty much have the same front 60 as you in my buggy, @@FlawedOffroad
Yeah that swap went on break when I had surgery and then it was wheeling season. I need to get back going on it@@varnell999
Good video man.
I wonder if your thinking of chopping/frenching those spring hangers like I was saying. Makes it slid over rocks easier 🍻
I’ve considered it but that messes with a lot of stuff. I’m going to focus on the Dana 60 this winter
