I voted for Trump, and I believe he lost. Simply put, far too many people find Donald Trump annoying as hell and/or too damn egotistical. Certainly, he is dumbfounded by the concept of diplomacy. Or to put it into terms that less sophisticated people might understand, you catch more flies with honey than with vinegar. I know plenty of Republicans who voted for Biden, because Trump is no Reagan, Bush (elder or younger), Dole, or McCain. Remember when Trump made fun of John McCain, because he wound up in a North Vietamese POW camp? My first boss was a B-17 navigator and was shot down over the Netherlands. He spent several months being shuttled around within the Underground, because circumstances kept stalling a pick-up by an Allied naval vessel. Eventually, someone figured he was an American flyer and contacted the Gestapo. So, Trump's remarks about McCain led to a slow burn for me. What I really think annoyed people is that Donal Trump takes any disagreement as a personal insult. I disagree with my wife on theological issues and political issues. Neither one of us thinks the other is an idiot.

My son was kicked out the first day of Christian school he has attended for nine years for refusing to wear their ridiculous mask that doesn’t work. I told him I stand 100% behind his decision. Went there since kindergarten and was a stellar student for the school. Represented the school four times in regionals for the spelling bee champion in his grade. On the football team and was going into ninth grade. Always kind. Always working hard. On the worship team at the school. Loves God! Never had any problems at school. But because he wouldn’t put a mask on his healthy face, they canceled him permanently. Signing him up for homeschooling now, and we will be protesting that school every single day. In love. I think it is as good a guess as any I’ve heard as to why the administration is acting like they are trying to frustrate and bankrupt and exasperate the American people. The recent Afghanistan debacle had me wondering why they would want to gaslight our entire military force and tell all of us Americans that we are not really seeing what we are seeing happen overseas. But, your explanation helps it to make some sense because now there are thousands of patriots that are being provoked to anger toward the current administration... and maybe that is their intention. So, for the very small amount of influence I might have I will encourage myself and others to “not take the bait“ and may the Lord have mercy on us.

I do believe that there will come a point to where service members are going to have to make the hard choice and pick the Constitution or the government. Mr. Wilson, my mens group is struggling with this very issue. On the smallest level we have proponents who say that to disobey the government without an explicit infraction against God's laws is to be in violation of Rom 13, full stop - Macarthur and Sproul back this up. We have the other side who accepts Rom 13 as proper but believe that not all claims of the government are to be obeyed just because you can't find an explicit denial of God's law; this claim is on the basis that denials of Christ & conscience are often subtle and crafty and rarely oblate and obvious, at least in this age; yet the flesh and the mind are not to be trusted over scripture. I believe that to deny God's sovereignty is to be in rebellion, no matter what your intention is. But I also struggle with what looks like presuming obedience to something you can clearly see fraud in believing God is working in the fraud and not your recognition of it to act against it. In simplest terms, I make the claim that our government is lying and wants me to accept that lie, and even promote it. I believe this to be a violation of the command to not bear false witness. They do so by mandating my child wear a mask, or that I be vaccinated or shutter in, or not seek medicines proven to be functional and effective. In what authority should I trust, my own mind and interpretation of the scripture, or the simpler version which says you always obey the government because they haven't denied His law to worship Jesus. I'd love to have some thought on this. Hopefully I've constructed the parallel well enough for you to see it. I confess, we, I, all, are so rebellious that we may not be able to answer this or accept the answer, but any way - I ask.

There were 100-200 thousand protestors on January 6. Maybe 1000 at most were involved in the riot, of those who knows how many were just let in by the capitol police. The vast majority did not "take the bate". I cannot fathom a way to prevent others from "taking the bate" in the upcoming year. My advice, get to work on your sign for the street protest. Let's hope there are protests. The alternative, that we wait to identify those in power as Klingons and only then protest, well, too little, too late. Good pastors in revolutionary war days were not pacifists. Maybe there is a lesson to learn from that.
It certainly looks like judgement for our willingness to be blinded by consumerism while giving these people a pass to do as they please. However, as christians who are waking up to this truth it is our responsibility to repent for our role in this and then to not participate in the scandal. We're resisting by not complying with their demands, restrictions and mandates but we're not going to get emotional and walk into a trap. This is a cold civil war and can't be treated like a Gettysburg battlefield. They're holding all the cards right now. Lots of things need to change before they'll be thrown out of office. A bunch of people getting rowdy and violent in Washington right now would change nothing and would give them all the excuse they need to grab emergency powers and treat all conservatives like traitors and terrorists. I'm Australian and here I was thinking it was just our turn to go through what America already had to in early 2020. (In 2020 we were thinking, "At least Australia couldn't turn into America!".) Is what we're dealing with really worse than what you had to in 2020?
The unlawful chaos allowed to reign in parts of the US from June-Oct 2020, along with highly suspicious activities in 6-7 major cities during our Nov. national elections (and GA Jan senate runoff) were no small thing and must NOT be allowed to stand by our Supreme Court and state legislators and at a federal level through the ‘22 midterm and ‘24 presidential elections or our near/midterm future as a nation will be very bleak. But what Australia’s state governments, seemingly led at first by Victoria (with tacit federal support) have been doing directly to their own citizens and businesses, rapidly escalating in severity for 17 months now, appears to reveal a much more dire structural problem throughout Australian culture and civil society. Contrast to the US, where the ‘progressive’ Left completely controls the Democrat party, all of academia, most federal/state/city civil servants, major media and entertainment corporations, all of Big Tech and the boards of most large corporations. BUT there is still significant opposition power in southern Conservative states and small city/rural areas nationwide, as well as a fast growing independent media, populist parts of the Republican party and a significant % of the overall population (see Republican/Trump vote ‘totals’ in Nov. 2020). With the possible exception of Sky News Australia, at east from our limited awareness, that does not seem to be the case in Australia where opposition to much more extreme statements and policies carried out by the government itself seems only to come from a small number of citizens who are not well organized and appear to have almost no social or political power. Is that a misperception? For Australia’s sake, I sure hope so!

And at least from my judgment, there seems to be a clearer divide between those who are completely following the mainstream media (which includes the prevailing view on social media, etc.) and those who are following "alternative" media, i.e. more specific Internet sources. It seems to me that we tend to keep our online lives more private than other cultures do (but then I am speaking from a semi-rural perspective). So it's impossible to tell from a casual conversation with someone what their stance is. Any opposition as you have seen are usually treated as loons (the dividing tactics are super strong): but you can guarantee that any opposition that you see that gains any traction isn't an organic movement whatsoever, but is backed by the selfsame political and economic powers that are causing the problems in the first place. In the name of all the more directed divisiveness. Sky News is the perfect example. They present themselves as the good guys, but really their job is to tell us what's what, and they don't care if a certain sector of society gets riled up over it, in fact they'd love that, because it causes yet more division. But their message is: get as angry as you want, there is nothing you can do about it.
In all honesty we need to be praying for Doug and the men and women of Christ Church and those at Canon. First, you makes a case that "its clear the reason for disrupting the American way of life has nothing to do with elected officials", then you spend the next 12 minutes talking about how the current regime will use someone "taking the bait" as the kind of optics necessary to postpone midterms. If elected officials don't matter, why are you focusing on the democrats? The "conservatives" of today had the same policies as the democrats of 20 years ago. Conservatives have been ceding ground to leftists since George Lincoln Rockwell was assassinated. Even if you meant it sarcastically, you never make a compelling argument or bring forth any evidence as to how elected officials would benefit from draconian measures. Second, your main argument for waiting to do actual meaningful protesting/resistance until/during the midterms is that "it will be more difficult for them to cheat", which is such a weak argument that its laughable. You probably thought it was too difficult to cheat in the 2020 election year. Third, even if there isn't an event that's used to justify "actual draconian measures", its incredibly easy to deepfake and psyop one into existence, whether it be by using actual FBI agents or a CGI simulation of something equally ridiculous (which you also mentioned).

The United States we knew and loved no longer exists. We are currently in the final phase of the 3rd republic. The progressivist republic. I voted for Trump, and I believe he lost. Simply put, far too many people find Donald Trump annoying as hell and/or too damn egotistical. Certainly, he is dumbfounded by the concept of diplomacy. Or to put it into terms that less sophisticated people might understand, you catch more flies with honey than with vinegar.
I know plenty of Republicans who voted for Biden, because Trump is no Reagan, Bush (elder or younger), Dole, or McCain.

I've found it appalling how most pastors are silent, or neutral, on any issues of substance. Look, Christians really need to get wise to pimp game. Many of us naive and childish when it comes to awareness of the Devil's wiles.
My son was kicked out the first day of Christian school he has attended for nine years for refusing to wear their ridiculous mask that doesn’t work. I told him I stand 100% behind his decision. Went there since kindergarten and was a stellar student for the school. Represented the school four times in regionals for the spelling bee champion in his grade. On the football team and was going into ninth grade. Always kind. Always working hard. On the worship team at the school. Loves God! Never had any problems at school. But because he wouldn’t put a mask on his healthy face, they canceled him permanently. Signing him up for homeschooling now, and we will be protesting that school every single day. In love. Against masks and the forced vaccinations they are mandating their faculty. It’s disgusting that a Christian school is behaving this way. Forcing the kids to wear masks eight hours a day. You would think they would stand for freedom. Nope. Cowards all of them. The worst part is that the children have no voice at all. It’s time people start drawing a line in the sand. It’s time to start calling these people out for what they’re doing. Make them uncomfortable. But we don’t want to play the game of anger or violence. Everything needs to be done peacefully. In love. Mr. Wilson, my mens group is struggling with this very issue. On the smallest level we have proponents who say that to disobey the government without an explicit infraction against God's laws is to be in violation of Rom 13, full stop - Macarthur and Sproul back this up. We have the other side who accepts Rom 13 as proper but believe that not all claims of the government are to be obeyed just because you can't find an explicit denial of God's law; this claim is on the basis that denials of Christ & conscience are often subtle and crafty and rarely oblate and obvious, at least in this age; yet the flesh and the mind are not to be trusted over scripture.
I believe that to deny God's sovereignty is to be in rebellion, no matter what your intention is. But I also struggle with what looks like presuming obedience to something you can clearly see fraud in believing God is working in the fraud and not your recognition of it to act against it. In simplest terms, I make the claim that our government is lying and wants me to accept that lie, and even promote it. I believe this to be a violation of the command to not bear false witness. They do so by mandating my child wear a mask, or that I be vaccinated or shutter in, or not seek medicines proven to be functional and effective. In what authority should I trust, my own mind and interpretation of the scripture, or the simpler version which says you always obey the government because they haven't denied His law to worship Jesus. I'd love to have some thought on this. Hopefully I've constructed the parallel well enough for you to see it.

There were 100-200 thousand protestors on January 6. Maybe 1000 at most were involved in the riot, of those who knows how many were just let in by the capitol police. The vast majority did not "take the bate". I cannot fathom a way to prevent others from "taking the bate" in the upcoming year. My advice, get to work on your sign for the street protest. Let's hope there are protests. The alternative, that we wait to identify those in power as Klingons and only then protest, well, too little, too late. Good pastors in revolutionary war days were not pacifists. Maybe there is a lesson to learn from that.

I'm Australian and here I was thinking it was just our turn to go through what America already had to in early 2020. (In 2020 we were thinking, "At least Australia couldn't turn into America!".) Is what we're dealing with really worse than what you had to in 2020?

The unlawful chaos allowed to reign in parts of the US from June-Oct 2020, along with highly suspicious activities in 6-7 major cities during our Nov. national elections (and GA Jan senate runoff) were no small thing and must NOT be allowed to stand by our Supreme Court and state legislators and at a federal level through the ‘22 midterm and ‘24 presidential elections or our near/midterm future as a nation will be very bleak.
But what Australia’s state governments, seemingly led at first by Victoria (with tacit federal support) have been doing directly to their own citizens and businesses, rapidly escalating in severity for 17 months now, appears to reveal a much more dire structural problem throughout Australian culture and civil society. Contrast to the US, where the ‘progressive’ Left completely controls the Democrat party, all of academia, most federal/state/city civil servants, major media and entertainment corporations, all of Big Tech and the boards of most large corporations. BUT there is still significant opposition power in southern Conservative states and small city/rural areas nationwide, as well as a fast growing independent media, populist parts of the Republican party and a significant % of the overall population (see Republican/Trump vote ‘totals’ in Nov. 2020).
With the possible exception of Sky News Australia, at east from our limited awareness, that does not seem to be the case in Australia where opposition to much more extreme statements and policies carried out by the government itself seems only to come from a small number of citizens who are not well organized and appear to have almost no social or political power. Is that a misperception?

And at least from my judgment, there seems to be a clearer divide between those who are completely following the mainstream media (which includes the prevailing view on social media, etc.) and those who are following "alternative" media, i.e. more specific Internet sources. It seems to me that we tend to keep our online lives more private than other cultures do (but then I am speaking from a semi-rural perspective). So it's impossible to tell from a casual conversation with someone what their stance is.
Any opposition as you have seen are usually treated as loons (the dividing tactics are super strong): but you can guarantee that any opposition that you see that gains any traction isn't an organic movement whatsoever, but is backed by the selfsame political and economic powers that are causing the problems in the first place. In the name of all the more directed divisiveness. Sky News is the perfect example. They present themselves as the good guys, but really their job is to tell us what's what, and they don't care if a certain sector of society gets riled up over it, in fact they'd love that, because it causes yet more division. But their message is: get as angry as you want, there is nothing you can do about it.

Brother Doug, glad to see this Don't Take The Bait wisdom. This has been apparent for years. The solid explanation is that occupying military force known as USA can use military force if they can classify a people as enemy combatants; per International law.

I don't agree with your analysis at all.
First, you makes a case that "its clear the reason for disrupting the American way of life has nothing to do with elected officials", then you spend the next 12 minutes talking about how the current regime will use someone "taking the bait" as the kind of optics necessary to postpone midterms. If elected officials don't matter, why are you focusing on the democrats? The "conservatives" of today had the same policies as the democrats of 20 years ago. Conservatives have been ceding ground to leftists since George Lincoln Rockwell was assassinated. Even if you meant it sarcastically, you never make a compelling argument or bring forth any evidence as to how elected officials would benefit from draconian measures.
Second, your main argument for waiting to do actual meaningful protesting/resistance until/during the midterms is that "it will be more difficult for them to cheat", which is such a weak argument that its laughable. You probably thought it was too difficult to cheat in the 2020 election year.
Third, even if there isn't an event that's used to justify "actual draconian measures", its incredibly easy to deepfake and psyop one into existence, whether it be by using actual FBI agents or a CGI simulation of something equally ridiculous (which you also mentioned).
Imagine in 2019 having to explain that computers are bad for elections when in 2000 (I was there) the debate was raging and nerds said NO. The two main reasons given for accepting it has now been proven wrong for anyone yet still here we are.....

This exact thing is what we're going through in Australia. My own church that I pastor have said these exact things. The Gospel Coalition Australia just shared a hit-piece against a declaration many of us signed against Vaccine passports and they legit said the above. Im saddened, angry, and lost. Im South African, Wife is American. Kids are American. Living and serving in Aus on a Visa. Applying for our GreenCard and hoping to study again next year at TMS.
The United States we knew and loved no longer exists. We are currently in the final phase of the 3rd republic. The progressivist republic. The first was the founding Fathers, the second Abraham Lincoln and the current started by Woodrow Wilson and advanced by Roosevelt. We are about to enter to 4th socialists republic. The best thing is to withdraw from Blue states and cities, establish our cultural zones with all our people in positions of local power authority, Mayor, sheriff, school superintendent and district attorney. Our people with our values and culture and I don't mean White enclaves, I mean Christian western civilization which is embraced by all races. The federal government is gone. That is our best bet for now before the ish hits the fan.

I didn't stay in last yr....I only wore a mask twice (surgery and a work flight just last week) I will NOT comply, even tho my own kids are Useful Idiots and my grandkids have sadly been jabbed. That being said, I agree. The time will come, just not at this moment .

Good counsels, Doug. Entitled attitude towards Liberty doesn't understand that it's a gift from God. When the proud go to seize what they think belongs to them, their pride is leading them into destruction. We have to walk with God on this. But resisting the murderous even through violence is justified and we will know when we have to do that. Fighting to desperately retain our comfort is no justification at all. We should be repenting right now.
