Is there anything more wonderful than this? My kids regularly quote Tim Minchin lines (not just from Matilda) - his work has been the perfect antidote to religious indoctrination, and so how fitting to have him write the music for Matilda, celebrating the education of children, and encouraging their propensity to question authority - a perfect circle. Thank you Tim.

I always find it so funny that dark humored Tim Minchin wrote a kids musical! He’s so talented!
I wouldn't characterize his humor as dark. He has always seemed uplifting to me. Delightfully irreverent is how I would describe it.
Matilda (any version) actually is pretty dark, but sparkling too at the same time. ⭐🌟✨🌟⭐
