Yeah I’ve taken one set apart, the purple stock rims and tires came on the grim reaper, I have the brass rings inside of those haven’t got the test out yet. It is still in the fab shop
You bet, I wanted to use the crawler truck with the ford body. This gave me the perfect opportunity. Plus, no way we are running 312 grams on a monster truck.
Sweet dude ! I am going to try the same thing with a 0.7" Tire mounted on a 1.0" beadlock Rim. I hope it works! I need tiny profile tires to fit on my new 1/24th scale rig. But I don't want to buy 0.7" rims! Thanks for the inspiration. You have a new subscriber.
I wish they made metal beadlocks for the fms max smasher monster truck wheels, that’s would be awesome, maybe in the future. The biggest tire I could find are those ultra soft 2.5’s which are close but the monster tires are 2.8 so the 2.5’s are still a little bit smaller, also there not as wide. I’d like to see some crawler tires come out for it that are the same size and width as the monster truck tires, I think that would be cool…. I’m mostly going to be bashing my smasher but I did buy everything I needed to make it a decent crawler, the only down side in my opinion is the slightly smaller tires, that are not as wide, I know it’s a contradiction in terms but I’d like to have it stay a monster truck yet be a capable crawler lol…. On a side note I upgraded my links to the metal treal ones but I feel like it lost some of its flexibility and it’s hard finding shocks as big as the stock ones unless you go with those double chamber zero oil ones which I’m not sure about cause I still want good dampening. I bought some metal rcawd shocks that said they were specifically for the fcx24 but there almost 2mm shorter than the stock ones… I’m trying to upgrade but it’s frustrating when things like that are off and the only other option I could find were those double chamber high clearance crawler ones…. I put those little black o rings on the treal metal links, if I took those off do you think I’d get some of that flex back? Your a thinker, and you improvise and think out of the box a lot… I try to do the same but I’m new to the 24th scale game. I’d appreciate any advice you have. Love your videos. Keep up the good work. New subscriber here. Donk!!!!!!
I’ve seen someone use Losi Mini B shocks (rears are longer than fronts) but they are much bigger in diameter. Still worth looking at. These things take lots of trial and error and sometimes lots of fabbing
And yes, removing o-rings will give you some Flex back, but could create a little slop. Remember, a good crawler doenst have CRAZY amounts of flex. Just enough is all your need.
I have a couple of 24's that these would be great on. One pack would do two trucks, no need to put them on the back, metal rims should balance things nicely, and crawl well.
Thank you for an excellent video. I would like to know if the locked diffs in the Doug can be unlocked? If yes then does anything need to be modded or is it simply a case of adjusting something or other. Thanks
For 1.0 wheels, do you know if their is a stiffer foam for the Swamp Kings that won't break the bank? The flubber stuffers are more than I want to pay.
I’d highly recommend trying some Flubs, but I get it. As for stiffer foams, you’d just have to look around I guess. We don’t use foams generally so it’s hard for me to give info on them. Sorry I couldn’t help more. Hopefully someone else can chime in.
???- Does that Ford body just straight fit on the FXC24 Power Wagon chassis? Wish the Fcx24 would come with this body! Don't want a Monster truck/basher, but not the biggest fan of the Power Wag./Bucher style bodies. Thanks Matt!
And the fcx24 smasher is the exact same as the butcher and k5 except it has monster truck wheels and tires and open diffs… but it comes with a set of locked diffs as well… so you can swap wheels and tires and do a crawler.
@@wingnutbert9685 exact same other than those 2 things. Wheels/tires and open vs closed diff. So, yes, it has a 2 speed. If you buy a Smasher, you can make it the exact same as a power wagon or k5. Just will have a different body and different wheel/tire
I'd rather the manufacturer let me decide whether or not to vent my tires/wheel inner rings. I'm one of the weirdos that keeps air in their tires. :P I hate that Injora and RCAWD are predrilling. I guess we can always epoxy them shut? love those wheels. Good idea stretching some LGRP tires. I did something similar to put foams in my FCX 24 stock tires
Totally agree, I prefer running positive pressure air in my tires. Freezing those brass rings will condense a fair amount of air inside before sealing. When the rings warm back up the air inside warms up and expands slightly. Popping a tire is just one of those things when out on the trail, hence the spare. Best idea for blocking that hole would be to tap it out and Red Locktite a grub screw in it.
Not sure if you bought the Treal portal axles for a TRX4m but I thought I would ask. Do you think these wheels would have a good positive offset to fit over the brass portal covers? The Treal TRX4m portal axles are sooo wiiide!!
They seem like they should be fine. Absolute worst case, just get a mm or 2 wider hex. The FCX portals like to rub on everything but these wheels seem to clear them just fine.
1" tires on 1.3"rim, Thank you for trying things that we all wonder about. So cool, thinking outside the box!
Thanks a ton for watchin.
Yeah I’ve taken one set apart, the purple stock rims and tires came on the grim reaper, I have the brass rings inside of those haven’t got the test out yet. It is still in the fab shop
Sounds good!
FINALLY it took forever to see if some has done this! I'm doing it with Injora 1.3 Turbine wheels .. not sure what tires to use
Nice!!
Thanks so much for puting the swamp kings on this, I like this look better than the monster truck tires.
You bet, I wanted to use the crawler truck with the ford body. This gave me the perfect opportunity. Plus, no way we are running 312 grams on a monster truck.
The wheel tire combo looks really good on the rig.
Thanks! Its SOOOOOoo Much heavier now!
Back watching again, I cut the back window out of the body, The glass is already there looks a lot better I did both of mine

Should work very similarly. Let me know!!! Huge thanks for the sub!
Awesome I’ll have to scope that out, Yep we’re here watching buddy 👍👍😎
Thanks a ton!
Tomorrow my tires come in, I'm putting 1" tires on some 1.55" wheel. Wish me luck lol
Shouldn’t be too bad. You’ll have to trim though.
Hell Yeah! Heavy Metal!!!!! Love the dentside. Great job
Fun for sure!!!
It's modeled after a late 60's BUMP side. Just dropping some knowledge. 1977 they had the dent side. The 80's ford lost all style.

Oh…. And huge thanks for the sub and watching the whole video!!!!
My max is on the way. This will be my first upgrade. I need a link and parts number. I order them now.
In the description!!!
I always watch to the end, I put my white body on my red power wagon chassis and it crawls better than it did with the power wagon Body
nice! Thanks for always watching!
It supports ALL your weight?

They are heavy as hell! Lol

Nope. You will have to buy the metal open diffs for the max smasher. I think fair rc still has them.
Freaking tank! Thanks for sharing brother.

Is the hex different for fcx? Will those fit on a scx. They would look great wrapped in the big pins
