I was actually teetering between Rome and Rio in predictions, finally going with Rio because of Athens Dash and also Rio would’ve had South America representation. So I’m surprise we’re actually got a Rome tour, which kind of fits Mario because he’s Italian

I was a actually a Rome believer until everyone and their mother started saying that Rio would be added instead. Kinda cool to see I was actually correct in hindsight. Cant wait to see what this track looks like and what the route will be in Deluxe.
i mean while it's cool to see rome as a track, it kinda feels stupid, since there are soooo many europe tracks, and madrid is also datamined to come. rio would've at least been interesting since it would have been a different continent. welp, anyways, still excited to see rome, since it will also make a really interesting city, probably being similar to athens in a way, and i loved athens!

While I would love Rome to be the next city track, my main concern is how would Rome be related with the jungle theme tracks that if the tour was originally going to be a jungle tour. (also with the next wave of miis being a fishbone and light green color)

Not to mention the HUGE lack of tracks / representation in Africa, South America, and other areas on Earth. Then again, the Mario Bros. are well-known for their Italian culture & heritage. So, I guess a track in Italy would be fitting for a Mario Kart track, possibly more so than Rio. Though, I would still love to see tracks in Rio, as well as South America, Africa, & other areas of Earth, provided that Mario Kart Tour continues getting new content and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe ends uo getting more DLC after the end Booster Course Pass.

Here's a question- what was the actual datamine here? I watched the video and nothing here felt like it was legitimate, due to the lack of information supporting it. Especially the codename MobR, because every other codename I'm pretty sure has been 2 letters. If it was Rome I assume the codename would be MobRO or MobRM, and if so then MobRO could just as easily be Rio.

So Nintendo seems to think South America and Africa don't exist :/ Sad I mean it makes sense that we get a track from Italy because Mario is a stereotypical Italian but it's still kinda disappointing that Europe gets so many tracks while Africa and South America don't get any. Hopefully the last City track isn' t actually Madrid... (I'm hoping for Marrakech because it seems like it could be a very colorful and unique track) Still excited about Moonview Highway and the DK alt though!
@@SB2749 mobmd doesn't have to be a city track just because it has multiple variants though. Everyone also thought mobor was Orlando but it was Piranha Plant Cove (Ocean Ruins). There are also tents associated with mobmd which doesn't really fit Madrid. As to what MD could stand for maybe Medieval Dungeon or something like that could work. Kind of a Halloween themed track that is mostly dark and spooky but also has a little market section with some tents is what I imagine this track to be like.

Well Athens doesn’t really go to the city area, so Rome being more in the main city can help distinguish it.
