Comparison Of The Entire Universe (Updated 2011) Moons, Planets, Stars, Nebulas, Galaxies, Clusters

  • Comparison of the entire universe. From the smallest dwarf planets, to planets, to stars, to nebulas, to galaxies and to the universe.
    Songs, in order, are: "Generations", "Age of Discovery" and "Serenata Immortale".
    All are made by Immediate Music.
    Notes:
    Some of the images on the internet was really bad so I had to make some stars and such for myself so don't complain that you can't find some images (or if you don't like them cause trust me, the alternative was much worse).
    If you have a question send me a message.
    Strongly recommend to watch in higher quality.
    All measurements are in diameter.
    Sizes aren´t completely right and they may vary in the future.
    Scales in the video might not be exact but a very good estimate.

    I just want to say this was one of my favourite videos as a kid.
    I've always liked space stuff, and the massive scales involved truly blew my mind.
    I also love how this video pops up in my recommended section from time to time, it reminds me of those simpler times.
    Thank you for creating this.

    I couldn't believe how beatiful this video was. It was one of the most inspiring, informative, comprehensive, inclusive and elucid videos I have ever seen- definitively the best video about size of objects in the Universe. You managed to distill what should take years of research in 10 minutes! Amazing, amazing job! I loved that you included all the dimensions of these objects, not just their comparative size, and how you included all these wonderful theories about other Universes too.

    The 10 biggest stars of the universe.
    Tenth : PZ Cassiopeiae
    Nigth : RW Cephei
    Eighth : AH Scorpii
    Seventh: VY Canis Majoris
    Sixth : KY Cygni
    Fifth : VX Sagittarii
    Fourth : Westerlund 1-26
    Third : WHO G64
    Second: NML Cygni
    First : UY Scuti
    The 2 biggest stars of the universe are small
    (Seventh: VY Canis Majoris)
    (Second: NML Cygni)

    • @OozoraKazuki
      @OozoraKazuki 10 лет назад

      Confirmed: UY Scuti is 1,708 Solar radii, compared to NML Cygni's 1,650 Solar radii and 1,420 Solar radii of the VY Canis Majoris.
      People who have claimed VY Canis Majoris to be the largest known star perhaps haven't searched around a little more... ;)

      ***** There's a possibility that scuti won't be the biggest by tommorow. You know how big the universe is and how we upgrade our telescope today. ..and that's a problem. People are not often informed and never want to know every changes because it's tiring. They'll probably forget Canis major after they found a thousand times bigger than Canis that what they'll say, because Scuti isn't much bigger than Canis, they ignore it, and they'll change if they found a soo bigger one.

    Any scale past the universe may be impossible, and I think I know why. The Universe is expanding, and if a Multiverse is containing multiple universes, they must all be expanding, right? Eventually, universes will collide into eachother, breaking laws of physics and destroy universes. But, it also may be possible, because what if said "Multiverse" is expanding along with the universes within it, and as the universes expand, they move away from eachother due to the multiverse expanding. Just a theory.

    Lol we can forget to ever ever ever get out of our galaxy if life exists outside our galaxy... We won't even get to other side of our own galaxy as its size is from one side to another 100k light years..so with even the maximum speed possible by laws of nature we still need 100.000 years to get to the other side... Forget it we will never ever make it and should accept we are alone 😋👍

    • @TheCrimsonIdol987
      @TheCrimsonIdol987 9 лет назад +1

      Well, if you can figure out how to use wormholes effectively, then you can travel at speeds that seemingly exceed the speed of light, but don't actually break the speed of light.
      Imagine you're a dot on a piece of paper, and you want to travel from one corner to the other in as short of a time as possible, well, you'd have to travel the distance right?
      Not necessarily, if you fold one corner to meet the other corner you can jump instantaneously from one corner to the next. Now laws of physics were broken, and you as a dot traveled from one corner to the other near instantaneously.

    • @zabid.
      @zabid. 9 лет назад

      I know the theory about wormholes... But it's more of fantasy as reality... We can not even go save to other planets close to us. So forget about it man.

    • @TheCrimsonIdol987
      @TheCrimsonIdol987 9 лет назад

I personally think that just pondering it has made me a little crazy lol. i mostly agree with your perspective, but i think our point of view is so limited and it is beyond our means of gathering all info needed for a unified/complete equation. i think that missing pieces are 1 consciousness, 2 time(or our perspective of it)

    This is awesome. But i have a small suggestion:
    With so many increments between large sizes, it's quite hard to see the magnitude of what we are looking at. You may want to remove some of the in-betweens. Also, if you had all of the "objects" on a platform and viewed them as though it was a rolling conveyor belt, i think it would look pretty cool.

    "How could any man believe himself to be the center of the universe?" I don't know if this question is supposed to be spiritual or merely rhetorical but actually EACH of us is the Center of the Universe from our own perspective. We view OUTWARD from ourselves seeking answers from all directions. So yes, we ARE the Center of OUR Universe...

    The reason they say the observable universe is 93 billion light years is because space has expanded in the 13 billion years it's taken for the light from distant galaxies to reach us; by calculating the rate of expansion of the universe, they've estimated that the most distant galaxies we can see are now 46.5 billion light years away from us. 46.5 billion light years in either direction is 93 billion light years.
    Of course, it's an educated guess at best, but it's the best guess we have.
