- Comparison of the entire universe. From the smallest dwarf planets, to planets, to stars, to nebulas, to galaxies and to the universe.
Songs, in order, are: "Generations", "Age of Discovery" and "Serenata Immortale".
All are made by Immediate Music.
Notes:
Some of the images on the internet was really bad so I had to make some stars and such for myself so don't complain that you can't find some images (or if you don't like them cause trust me, the alternative was much worse).
If you have a question send me a message.
Strongly recommend to watch in higher quality.
All measurements are in diameter.
Sizes aren´t completely right and they may vary in the future.
Scales in the video might not be exact but a very good estimate.
one word for this: nostalgia
I just want to say this was one of my favourite videos as a kid.
I've always liked space stuff, and the massive scales involved truly blew my mind.
I also love how this video pops up in my recommended section from time to time, it reminds me of those simpler times.
Thank you for creating this.
Awesome video. I wached this when I was 8 years old. It was fun rewatching this after almost an entire decade.
Any person who watches this and still, after seeing such mind-bogglingly huge structures all the way from moons to planets to nebulae, stars, and entire galaxies, thinks to him or herself that we are alone, is a fool
Oh, this video takes me back, one of my very first favourites and what inspired me to want to become an astronomer :3
Me too.
did you finally become one?
Me too , I'm on the progress of being one I'am on Second Year Astronomy now , I remember watching this when I'm just at 9th grade.
Neji Hyūga LOL
Aqworlds Gel What's with the Lol ?
I cried watching this, we will never know so many questions, all I know is that we are not alone.
i too, that's fucking incredible
I know me too it was sooo nice
i cried to
the music made me cry
I still remember the good old days...when I had an interest in space and the planet's. Thanks to this, I'll try to get back into it
@@JNUniverse sure
The music makes me want to explore all of this
It's just so hard to conceptualize such massive celestial entities. We are but microbes in a small pocket of space.
I remember when I used to be a space nerd back in 2012 and found this video. With its amazing soundtrack, I adored this song and I still remember today. I can’t believe all of this is still here even so much time has passed.
Comparison Of The Entire Universe (Updated 2011) Moons, Planets, Stars, Nebulas, Galaxies, Clusters
Very interesting video!
Thank you.
I couldn't believe how beatiful this video was. It was one of the most inspiring, informative, comprehensive, inclusive and elucid videos I have ever seen- definitively the best video about size of objects in the Universe. You managed to distill what should take years of research in 10 minutes! Amazing, amazing job! I loved that you included all the dimensions of these objects, not just their comparative size, and how you included all these wonderful theories about other Universes too.
I am 22 years old, and remember watching this when I was 12!
Wow not only nostalgia from the video, but also Orchard of miiiiines and Serenata Immortale!!
oh boy my childhood
When I first saw this video that was very shocked. It is a good video that made me dream of an astronomer. Thanks.
We will alll miss Betelgeuse when it explodes in 1 million years at least it won't harm us
vy canis majoris is about to explode in 100,000 years from now!
the good old times..
Its been 10 years already😭
Yeah...
Yeah...
I know 😭😭 I was only 15 and look at me now. I hate how time flies. Pure nostalgia this video and the music is giving me
Yeah…
Music choice was amazing, anyway, AWESOME video
We are very small...…..
This video definitely deserves a remake with all the new discoveries since 2011
Had to chuckle at the end because from your own perspective you actually are the centre of the Universe.
I remember like 8 years ago, just watching these videos and loving them. man how time flies.
99% sure there is a multiverse.
Could actually well believe it, it's very humbling. Incredible video.
This is such an incredible video! I like thinking about the universe so much and I also like to think does it have a final border to it, and if it did, how would the space look like when someone or something would get across to the other side...
Akhtar Ali I am glad that you think the way I do! O_O
same
I can destroy those things lol
The Last song was awesome :) Awesome video!
The 10 biggest stars of the universe.
Tenth : PZ Cassiopeiae
Nigth : RW Cephei
Eighth : AH Scorpii
Seventh: VY Canis Majoris
Sixth : KY Cygni
Fifth : VX Sagittarii
Fourth : Westerlund 1-26
Third : WHO G64
Second: NML Cygni
First : UY Scuti
The 2 biggest stars of the universe are small
(Seventh: VY Canis Majoris)
(Second: NML Cygni)
Confirmed: UY Scuti is 1,708 Solar radii, compared to NML Cygni's 1,650 Solar radii and 1,420 Solar radii of the VY Canis Majoris.
People who have claimed VY Canis Majoris to be the largest known star perhaps haven't searched around a little more... ;)
Well that name is well know now soo hard to forget
baka dop That's true.
Once a name gets stuck, it takes time for people to realize there's something else beyond.
"The 10 biggest stars of the universe"
That we know of so far =)
***** There's a possibility that scuti won't be the biggest by tommorow. You know how big the universe is and how we upgrade our telescope today. ..and that's a problem. People are not often informed and never want to know every changes because it's tiring. They'll probably forget Canis major after they found a thousand times bigger than Canis that what they'll say, because Scuti isn't much bigger than Canis, they ignore it, and they'll change if they found a soo bigger one.
this gives me goosebumps, its just so mind blowing yet beautiful...
We will definitely miss *VY Canis Majoris*
Omniverse was trippy at the end because of the size imaginable- WOW! Also great choice of music makes the video even more dramatic thanks for this!
Any scale past the universe may be impossible, and I think I know why. The Universe is expanding, and if a Multiverse is containing multiple universes, they must all be expanding, right? Eventually, universes will collide into eachother, breaking laws of physics and destroy universes. But, it also may be possible, because what if said "Multiverse" is expanding along with the universes within it, and as the universes expand, they move away from eachother due to the multiverse expanding. Just a theory.
Man this was the first Size Comparison of the Universe Video i ever watched. This good old times...
I so agree.
to think that all these galaxies won't sustain atleast 1 other form of intelligence, is almost hilarious.
I liked the music when it showed the comparison of Ahadi, Pistol Star and La Superba!
Can't wait to colonize all that
we just cant .....
urenda573 lol execpt u won't be there to see it
urenda573 I'm with you msn let's do this
The *Solar Max* Story Begins...
this was like my favorite video as a kid
is there still someone thinking we are alone in the universe ?
xenomorphelv426 Yes, Me :D Well It's my opinion, everyone has his own opinions
Sephiroth Pro absence of evidence is not evidence of absence.
Just hearing the music makes me nostalgic.
The new largest star is UY Scuti which is slightly larger than VY Canis Majoris
But its still a fantastic video!
Callum Lund this was made in 2011 so that's why.
Chara Undertale Right, just telling facts that I still don't understand
Callum Lund 5 YEARS AGO.
Chara Undertale yeah, I know that
I grew up with these videos 😭
I have heard of the multiverse but not the Metaverse or the Xenoverse or the omniverse. What is the concept behind those ideas?
pretty outspoken for a person with idiot right in their name. Who is the fucktard? You is hahahahahahahahaha, is that a mustache on your face or just dirty?
Popeye Segar says the person who can't read last names or speak correctly.
At least i don't roam the internet and ask stupid question when all you have to do is look them up.... dumbass
Popeye Segar being a bitch and complaining about people not looking things up is cool, too.
4 years later...
You have put many, many things that other videos like this don't have. I only wish this was updated o 2016.... but awesome video.
wow it's already been 5 years..

Hello
4 years later still coming back to this vid
I remember this video 10 years later, I remember being obsessed with this back in my early teens, time flies.
xenoverse is donut??
+L for Lara x yasss donut. a gigantic donut w/ bluberry flavor
+Sulaiman Ali nope its chocolate
+Sulaiman Ali its all flavors
Sulaiman Ali lol
Shadow fox 1557 and it's chocolate
My favourite video on RUclips.
Lol we can forget to ever ever ever get out of our galaxy if life exists outside our galaxy... We won't even get to other side of our own galaxy as its size is from one side to another 100k light years..so with even the maximum speed possible by laws of nature we still need 100.000 years to get to the other side... Forget it we will never ever make it and should accept we are alone 😋👍
Well, if you can figure out how to use wormholes effectively, then you can travel at speeds that seemingly exceed the speed of light, but don't actually break the speed of light.
Imagine you're a dot on a piece of paper, and you want to travel from one corner to the other in as short of a time as possible, well, you'd have to travel the distance right?
Not necessarily, if you fold one corner to meet the other corner you can jump instantaneously from one corner to the next. Now laws of physics were broken, and you as a dot traveled from one corner to the other near instantaneously.
I know the theory about wormholes... But it's more of fantasy as reality... We can not even go save to other planets close to us. So forget about it man.
Zabi D. There's nothing about wormholes that violate the laws of physics.
TheCrimsonIdol987 that may be true, but when do you think it's going to be possible?... Still in our life time?
Zabi D. Not in our lifetime, sadly. But eventually ;)
Omg I finally found the first video I saw comparing the sizes of what’s in the universe!!
probably the best comparison video about space ever made, thank you
However, even if the Univese is a lot bigger, the fact that it has a start means that it has a specific size, although its really, REALLY big. What a wonderful food for thought for the future generations! Anyway, I hope I wasn't tiring, congrats again!
MIND BLOWN!!
Keeping this information in mind is part of what brings me peace everyday
just amazing who knows what's out there I really want to go ssssoooo much
thanx for the vid, it is BEAUTIFUL! i love it.and i always love reading the comments on these types of vids
You wont believe it , but i shed a tear at this piece of beauty while watching this Video :)
Why is this particular video so nostalgia enducing?
Galaxy, Universe, Multiverse, Metaverse, Xenoverse, Omniverse ..... Looks like the uploader of this video was only short of words LOL !
looking to the universe really makes one humple. Always good remainder....
Speechless
I love the music you used for this video
This video is really great, I learned a lot compared to what I already knew. From moons to planets to stars to nebula to galaxies to clusters to the universe to the multiverse to the omniverse. Now, I do not mind myself eating a whole piece of cake. :-)
Happy Astronomy!
The music were amazing, and the sizes were really mind blowing, taking the new discover that what is the largest object and smallest object in our solar system out to the our universe, astrology is signing up to youtube (showing all around in world by using youtube) i have a one question, where did you find the music, sizes, image? do you love astrology or you just made this for nothing and taking new discover in astrology?
The "universe undertermined" pic gave me legit chills
I miss this video..... Sure is pretty nostalgic.

This is a great video, man you are a saint!!, thanks!!!!
That word "Undetermined" thrillin me out!
Dear MackanK94,
It's a very good video you uploaded.
I'm interested in Omniverse, Xenoverse, Metaverse, ...
Where did you get those explanations? Thanks in advance.

This Is Legendary.
You are the center of the universe, because without you seeing this through your eyes it would have still happened, but would have never mattered.
Excellent choice of music btw
93 Billion light years to travel from one side of the known universe to the other!
That is fucking mind blown!
You are perfectly right my friend.
I didnt know there was a Omniverse how do u know everything u got the brain of a genius and i watch this alll the time :)
Wow the un-imaginable size of everything, the universe is dwarfed to the Omniverse. and we cant even imagin how big our sun is. and our sun is tiny. So i say Thank you god. thank you big bang. thank you whoever made this infinite fascination we call Time.
Dude, believe in any theory, but God didn't create nothing (Doesn't even exist). In the Bible,it says that god hold all water from earth with the hand, so he can't even be seen from omniverse.
wow i learned alot from watching such a incredible video.... and that is the songs are EPIC !!!!!!
LOVE IT!
Also, the music fitted perfectly with the theme and the ending just sums it up all! Again congrats! One think though. I am pretty sure the observable Universe is 25 bilion ly, not 93. The farthest galaxies we' ve found are 13 b ly away. Since the age of the Universe is calculated 13,7 bilion years, it would be hard to see anything past 13 b ly anyway.
Wow real nice video and i especially like the saying at the end
And from what I heard there are more multiverses in a single metaverse than there are atoms in our universe. :O
Yes, I did.
Giving an inanimate object a trait of living thing is a variant of metaphor.
Giving either an animate object or animal a trait that is human-like (eg. speaking) is also a variant of metaphor.
I do not knew their English names, so I gave just examples.
看到這部影片後,我感覺自己渺小到不可思議;人間一切的紛爭、一切的作為、一切的一切,在宇宙之前,全都是滄海之一粟,不值得一提了。
lol once you start thinking about the vastness and complexity of it all, it takes us on a ride doesnt it! I personally think that just pondering it has made me a little crazy lol. i mostly agree with your perspective, but i think our point of view is so limited and it is beyond our means of gathering all info needed for a unified/complete equation. i think that missing pieces are 1 consciousness, 2 time(or our perspective of it)
Best video on RUclips.
@PinkPanda1707 Yes that's correct. We have been able to bring VY Canis Majoris down to size thanks to improvements in measurements. VY CM is now the 7th largest star and NML Cygni now holds the title as largest known star.
That is my favourite!
This is awesome. But i have a small suggestion:
With so many increments between large sizes, it's quite hard to see the magnitude of what we are looking at. You may want to remove some of the in-betweens. Also, if you had all of the "objects" on a platform and viewed them as though it was a rolling conveyor belt, i think it would look pretty cool.
How could anyone dislike this, give me one reason to dislike this video.
"How could any man believe himself to be the center of the universe?" I don't know if this question is supposed to be spiritual or merely rhetorical but actually EACH of us is the Center of the Universe from our own perspective. We view OUTWARD from ourselves seeking answers from all directions. So yes, we ARE the Center of OUR Universe...
The reason they say the observable universe is 93 billion light years is because space has expanded in the 13 billion years it's taken for the light from distant galaxies to reach us; by calculating the rate of expansion of the universe, they've estimated that the most distant galaxies we can see are now 46.5 billion light years away from us. 46.5 billion light years in either direction is 93 billion light years.
Of course, it's an educated guess at best, but it's the best guess we have.
What we know is a water drop, what we ignore is an ocean.
- Isaac Newton.
MINDBLOWN..
very very very nice video !!! nice job
Good video, left out some massive important stars, but a good video nonetheless.
Cool but what is the Omniverse exactly.Could it be the 1st,2nd or 3rd dimension or something because im so anxious right now!!!
This video really puts things into perspective.
for sure.... not no word to describe.....
THE MUSIC IS AWESOME
Man This Vid Is Amazin !
