As a marketing guy myself I don’t think that the marketing was misleading I think that the quotes from critics that were used in the marketing were misleading. Instead of saying the movie is the “scariest” of the year they should’ve said it’s the most “unsettling” film. That makes more sense when you see the movie. The marketing itself did a good job to give off that feeling so yes I do believe this is still one of the best marketing campaigns for a film in recent memory. It’ll be up there with what movies like DP3 and Alien Romulus are doing right now with their campaigns.
would you say that the marketing was almost too good? I feel like I would've enjoyed the movie a lot more if I hadn't had the crazy expectations given by all the promos.. I guess from a money side it was successful but the general census seems to be that it's nowhere near "this generations silence of the lambs"
@@armadilloseller no it is not this generations Silence of the Lambs you’re not wrong there. When it comes to the idea that they did too good on their marketing I’m not gonna say that there wasn’t one time where they did something, and I thought it was a little out of left field, but for the most part, the two trailers that they released and many of the clips I feel did paint a good enough picture of the film to warrant the unsettling nature film actually brings. Basically what I’m trying to say is that the execution of this marketing campaign is how every marketing campaign should do it even if say not everything works context.
So is the pod not done after all? I haven't seen a new ep. on my podcast app since Dec, but just discovered there are a bunch of episodes on YT only? What's the deal?
Star Wars/Disney is great at making series that resolve nothing and just build random plots for 20 minutes each week. Then end with almost nothing having been resolved. The acolyte was a total nothing-burger.
Thought we were going to get a big breakdown of longlegs and that shit was 5 minutes 😂
The boys final episode was awesome

Correct. They’re only doing YT content from time to time
There is no energy in this
My theater for longlegs literally had more crowd laughs than the last comedy I saw I could not watch that Cage performance without laughing
