Farideh, about the ragù versus bolognaise. The difference hasn't have to go about the meat size. It is just a bit of Italian history. A ragù is a stew. And in a lot of Italian city's (or even families) they have their own way of making it. In the North they tend to use chopped meat, vegetables (if they use tomato's, only in small amount) and some liquid (stock, wine,..) In the south they use whole cuts and sometimes regional sausages. After a long simmer, meat is removed and may be served as a separate course without pasta. So the most popular around the world is the bolognaise, which comes from Bologna (a northern city). So every Bolognaise is meant to be a ragù, but not every ragù is a Bolognaise. So everyone is free to have his own style ragù. Love your show, keep up the good work and I wish you a safe ski trip.
@@supercolossalshay2631 Oh. Oh, that makes me feel sad. I am passionate about History (and Ragù). And I have some background and degrees in cooking. I do not often comment things I see. Only when I get triggered. Hope you understand... Why do you think it sounds like a google search?
@@Bhaerts I don't mean this in a bad way. It's just that your comment is very specific about the recipes and where ragu originates. It just sounds like something I would see on a wikipedia page.
I made this! Super easy to make, and I changed the sauce to make a chimichurri sauce (basically just switching the basil for parsley) and it was very good. Its like a blanket for your insides.
That all looks so amazing. Polenta is absolutely overlooked. I have a big bag in my cupboard and I seriously underuse it. My birthday's coming up soon, think I'm gonna make this for it. Thank you!
This is a very flexible dish. You can make a stew with bigger chunks or a hearty soup. Change the style by adding sour cream or borsian cheese, balsamic vinegar. I like a few jalapeño peppers with this. Very well done on a perfect winter stew. Thank you.
@@acoustic5738 I'm not quite sure what that even means. If you're not obese, don't have underlying health conditions and aren't elderly you have nothing to worry about
I went out to a fancy restaurant the other day and spend $175. I just recreated this recipe and this meal was better than anything we had that night. Literally tasted like it came from a 5 star restaurant. Farideh. Holy shit.
Guys. went to watch the new western tom hanks for 40 minutes while this was simmering. came back and it was dried out and started burning the beef!! FML. poured in some wine and water & put on my smallest burner lowest setting. Pray for this Ragu!!!
This past year has been crazy and this is the type of content that’s getting me through. I want to be Farideh’s friend if we ever get to be social again
My mother would be so proud if I brought a girl like Farideh home. Then all three of us could argue about how to cook things, and my dad would just shake his head at us in "scottish"
This looks absolutely amazing. Going to make this tonight hopefully. I was a skateboarder going to contest and stuff like that and I ended up cracking my pelvis on a handrail in basically I became afraid to skateboard which kind of sucks cuz I was really good
what sucks is all of this happened before like modern cell phones with picture capability and all that stuff. In the damn handrail wasn't even that big. Always take care of your body eat healthy food and we're definitely getting older when we stop to eat lunch that when having fun. That's a good sign of that for sure
you may have not seen or mistaken that, and its really hard to spot, but she actually isnt ice fishing there, which is why she is able to cook in a kitchen.
@@thebakk34 she doesnt cook it there though. also, you can easily put the sauce in a thermos can, and bring some pieces of bread. would even work for ice fishing. if you want to, you can mention that you go ice fishing again, its almost as subtle as her permanent nods to snowboarding.
invest in good clothes, and the stuff that keeps the sleeves from rolling back doesnt get sloppy as fast. (english is my second language, so i honestly have no idea how those things at the end of sleeves are called)
I keep watching this show mainly because of her. She's so lovely
I feel the opposite way about her.
@@burntvirtue lol
Made this for dinner tonight. Absolute winner. The vinegar dressing absolutely pulls it together. Thanks from Australia Farideh!

Doug we must fight to the death bare handed in the woods . The winning gets her ,deal?

I enjoy how she talks with her hands, especially with her knife directing the audience. 💓
Dang it I wasn't going to day drink and then boom, Sicily
She is so delightful!! Love it!
I’m Italian and I always cook polenta and ragù when I go to the mountains snowboarding 🏂
It's 10 AM and I want this
One of my favorite recipes to make on a cold, stormy night! Californias been getting a lot of that weather lately, so I’ll be making this tonight 🥰
Ragu is like a warm hug and polenta is an overlooked carb lol
we need a Sicily count in one of the corners

Go Farideh, polenta is deffers an overlooked starch to serve as a base for stews and other rich meat dishes.
Fari-bae 🥰❤️
Farid ah is that girl how u wana share ur life with her .She is adorabel cute, smart, funny and my Mama would proud of me when i bring her home .
Coming home to this on a winter day after work, would be soooo damn nice and comforting! Amazing job

Ditch the tomatoes just braise it in stock and wine, also quite amazing
Очень круто! Зелёный соус в конце на рагу - волшебно смотрелось!
Farideh is the best food/cooking host on the platform.
The most attractive chef on RUclips
There's a pandemic and she's going skiing 👏🏽

Farideh, you rock ! She's the best and the main reason i watch this show. Her recipes ain't too bad either :D
Whoa I did not picture Farideh as a total shredder on the slopes. Impressive!

You are very experienced with cooking.
Some red chilies and lamb in the ragu would have been nice
Farideh is the GOAT!!!
She is awesome!! I could Farideh all day.
love her recipies, esspecially the chicken pot pie ;)))) NICEEE.
it makes sense why younger people are afraid to cook or maybe unwilling when the autmatic reation from older generations is to harshly ridicule.

Recipe great, chef great! What more can I say? 🤷🏽♂️❤️
Wow Looks amazing. Love ragu.🥰🥰
Very good lesson THANKS❤❤❤❤

love the cut of her jib, loved the smoky kitchen when you were searing 😂 just like home.
I'm going to make this this weekend for my birthday. Do you have a wine suggestion that would be best?
Where are all the American (I)talien saying "Ay, I'm half Italien and this is just like my grandma made it, she was born in Italy"
I love in the Sopranos when Paulie goes to Italy on vacation and founds out he's not at all like them, probably more like 0,1% Italian :D

Great way to kickoff Sunday.

Wow that looks solid! Definitely going to try making this
