Calling him as strong as Hulk is a bit of a stretch. Hulk broke an asteroid twice as big as earth with one hit. lifited a 100 billion ton mountain range and has faught Thor on multiple occasions. Aquaman is strong but has never done anything on that scale. he more than makes up for it with his Hydrokenisis, weather manipulation and combat skill.
I also think people don't like him cause all other members in JL could beat him one on one, but to be fair, Superman and Green Lantern could mop the floor with a lot of them if their intentions were to kill

Aquaman is such an awesome character and my favourite DC hero although I love Superman Green Lantern and Nightwing as well. Aquaman controls 70% of the world which is just hard to comprehend how powerful he is. He has an awesome but simple design a sick origin and just his connection to the seven seas makes him my favourite DC hero because my two favourite things are superheroes and the oceans. I feel like Aquaman would work really well as a tv series with all the history he has. I’d want to see his relationship with Mera develop, the mutual hatred of him and Black Manta, a comprehensive origin where we get to see a lot of Tom Curry along with exploring how scary the oceans can be. I don’t like how people even to this day disrespect Aquaman and even people who don’t make fun of his powers just don’t view him as an interesting character which couldn’t be farther from the truth. I like how serious his stories can get along with the fantasy and horror elements that can be combined. I also love Aqualad Mera Vulko Black Manta and Tom Curry so he’s got some great side characters and villains which is important for a superhero to have. I could talk about Aquaman all day but I hope people can reconsider their stance on him and give him a chance if they think he isn’t interesting or badass because he is more interesting and badass than most superheroes in my opinion.

You do know a good chunk of those fights were popularity fights. That's the series of comics where Wolverine beat Lobo. I'm one of the biggest Marvel fanboys ever but I have to admit that Wolverine beating Lobo is kinda ridiculous.
It doesn't really matter which one is superior, or who's a rip off of who. Namor is practically unknown to anyone who hasn't picked up a Marvel comic, and most casual readers (like myself) probably only know of him through the early Ultimate Fantastic Four series and The Road to Civil War, both of which showcase him being a total, unlikable prick. Granted, it's a small and quite possibly bad sampling of the character, but that seems to be his reputation overall. People may think Aquaman is useless (and they'd be completely wrong), but at least he's recognizable and everyone knows that he means well.

Great video! I learned a lot about Aquaman from this video. I've never been an Aquaman hater or anything since I love all superheroes. I was just never exposed to a lot of Aquaman material. I look forward to the DC animated film that DC says they're going to make. I felt that Aquaman was badass in the "Flashpoint" animated film.

As a huge DC fan, I love Batman, Green Lantern, Flash and Green Arrow etc. But I wanted to start exploring other characters, in the DC universe. I started reading Aquaman new 52, and I loved it. Aquaman is so underated, also I love how bad ass he looks; in the upcoming Batman V Superman film.
It always annoyed me how aquaman has so many powers on the surface. Strength enough to lift up a building? When you give so many heroes the default super strength and then make it that strong it negates some of the impact of other heroes like superman. He should have superhuman strength like spiderman on land and shouldn't be able to do hulk jump. He may as well take away his other powers water-based powers and be a land based hero. Also hydrokinesis is waaaaaaaaaaaay to powerful a power for a good guy who isn't powered by the yellow sun to have ontop of everything else. Not to mention it makes no sense. Do all atlanteans have this ability? They should since there is nothing special about arthur apart from his father which should have made him weaker if anything. And if all atlanteans have the same power scale as arthur then the surface doesn't stand a chance with or without justice league. They could drown world. Orm could do it on his ones!!!! Aquaman should just be able to telepathically comunicate and control marine life, be a skilled combatant have leadership qualities. Be able to breathe underwater and swim amaziningly. on land he should have around spiderman's strength level and higher tolerance to pain and denser skin. Thats it.
Your reasoning is flawed. Superman has way too much power too (superstrength, flight, invulnerability, heat vision, x-ray vision, ice breath, super speed, I think are at least most of them). By saying that AM shouldn't have super strength because it makes Supes obsolete is like saying Flash shouldn't have super speed because Supes does, wonder woman shouldn't be able to fly because supes can. You see what I'm saying? Multiple heroes are allowed to have the same/similar powers. Like Shazam. He has really similar powers to Supes. Are you complaining about him? Then, you say they should take away AM's hydrokinisis AND strength, and make him a guy who's slightly strong and durable and could talk to fish. Nice thought, except people already think he's lame. I hate when people either read what I type and don't get it,or don't read what I type fully and respond. First note how I said Superstrength is a DEFAULT power. It is already overused but the good thing is that not everyone is on same strength level. Also I said any good guy NOT powered by yellow sun purposefully since people love to throw the Supes is overpowered argument verywhere they go. The sun basically sustains all life. It makes some kind of sense (albeit not perfect sense) that superman is powered up that much. Aquaman doesn't have something like that. Also he doesn't have power of olympic gods like Shazam and Wonder Woman which is why there strength makes sense. Also wonder woman couldn't fly until hermes gave her the ability in the new 52 since DC realised what I'm saying now a while back. It makes superman fell just abit less super. Anyway secondly Flash is faster than superman becuase of speed force a whole other entity which powers some other speedsters. Once again there is a reason and it is his whole identity anyway its not like its on top of anything. Shazam has strength, speed and durabilty and can fly I'll grant you that BUT just like Wonder Woman DC realised it negates Superman superness so they gave him lightning powers not just to call it to transform but to manipulte it. Also he has always been magic and that makes him a good superman foil when writers get bored (lol). Aquaman should be mainly "aqua" is all I'm saying BUT he shouldn't be overpowered without just cause. If he was the son of the god of atlanteans then it would be more acceptable for him to be able to flood the entire earth as it is though it just felt like Johns was throwing new powers at him to make him seem cooler. JLU and JL the animated did it better. By making his person badass. Powers don't make the hero its the person which is why Batman is the best (lol sorry couldn't resist). Started reading aquaman in the 90s when he had one hand all the way to the current version. Became my favorite character. Incredibly powerful, leader of the most powerful nation on earth.
So they are trying to turn Aquaman into Namor the Submariner.
Not even close. Aquaman still retains his love for the surface world and wants to make piece with it. Namor embraces only his atlantian side. Aquaman is more compassionate and kind than Namor. They have similarities. Sure. But they're also widely different.
S-Boy No Namor also embraces his mutant heritage, and sided wit the X-men during the AvX conflict.

Great video! I learned a lot about Aquaman from this video. I've never been an Aquaman hater or anything since I love all superheroes. I was just never exposed to a lot of Aquaman material. I look forward to the DC animated film that DC says they're going to make. I felt that Aquaman was badass in the "Flashpoint" animated film.

ShadowBro I thought it was his spider sense that made him able to dodge things because he knows they are coming before they even do, but his actual reflexes aren't exactly fast enough to doge gun fire (I read that somewhere don't quote me on this)

Spiderman doesen't just say "oh no, in a few seconds a lightning bolt is going to strike near me, and then he moves away and normal human speed, he is able to dodge automatic fire with pure physical speed, even when it is right in front of him.

As a huge DC fan, I love Batman, Green Lantern, Flash and Green Arrow etc. But I wanted to start exploring other characters, in the DC universe. I started reading Aquaman new 52, and I loved it. Aquaman is so underated, also I love how bad ass he looks; in the upcoming Batman V Superman film.
It always annoyed me how aquaman has so many powers on the surface. Strength enough to lift up a building? When you give so many heroes the default super strength and then make it that strong it negates some of the impact of other heroes like superman. He should have superhuman strength like spiderman on land and shouldn't be able to do hulk jump. He may as well take away his other powers water-based powers and be a land based hero. Also hydrokinesis is waaaaaaaaaaaay to powerful a power for a good guy who isn't powered by the yellow sun to have ontop of everything else. Not to mention it makes no sense. Do all atlanteans have this ability? They should since there is nothing special about arthur apart from his father which should have made him weaker if anything. And if all atlanteans have the same power scale as arthur then the surface doesn't stand a chance with or without justice league. They could drown world. Orm could do it on his ones!!!! Aquaman should just be able to telepathically comunicate and control marine life, be a skilled combatant have leadership qualities. Be able to breathe underwater and swim amaziningly. on land he should have around spiderman's strength level and higher tolerance to pain and denser skin. Thats it.
Your reasoning is flawed. Superman has way too much power too (superstrength, flight, invulnerability, heat vision, x-ray vision, ice breath, super speed, I think are at least most of them). By saying that AM shouldn't have super strength because it makes Supes obsolete is like saying Flash shouldn't have super speed because Supes does, wonder woman shouldn't be able to fly because supes can. You see what I'm saying? Multiple heroes are allowed to have the same/similar powers. Like Shazam. He has really similar powers to Supes. Are you complaining about him? Then, you say they should take away AM's hydrokinisis AND strength, and make him a guy who's slightly strong and durable and could talk to fish. Nice thought, except people already think he's lame. What do you think taking away his best powers would do?
I hate when people either read what I type and don't get it,or don't read what I type fully and respond. First note how I said Superstrength is a DEFAULT power. It is already overused but the good thing is that not everyone is on same strength level. Also I said any good guy NOT powered by yellow sun purposefully since people love to throw the Supes is overpowered argument verywhere they go.
The sun basically sustains all life. It makes some kind of sense (albeit not perfect sense) that superman is powered up that much. Aquaman doesn't have something like that. Also he doesn't have power of olympic gods like Shazam and Wonder Woman which is why there strength makes sense. Also wonder woman couldn't fly until hermes gave her the ability in the new 52 since DC realised what I'm saying now a while back. It makes superman fell just abit less super.
Anyway secondly Flash is faster than superman becuase of speed force a whole other entity which powers some other speedsters. Once again there is a reason and it is his whole identity anyway its not like its on top of anything.
Shazam has strength, speed and durabilty and can fly I'll grant you that BUT just like Wonder Woman DC realised it negates Superman superness so they gave him lightning powers not just to call it to transform but to manipulte it. Also he has always been magic and that makes him a good superman foil when writers get bored (lol).
Aquaman should be mainly "aqua" is all I'm saying BUT he shouldn't be overpowered without just cause. If he was the son of the god of atlanteans then it would be more acceptable for him to be able to flood the entire earth as it is though it just felt like Johns was throwing new powers at him to make him seem cooler. JLU and JL the animated did it better. By making his person badass.
Powers don't make the hero its the person which is why Batman is the best (lol sorry couldn't resist). But seriously The justice league doesn't need more deus ex machina characters.

You do realise that his super strength is derived from his atlantean physique, right? Just think how much strength they require to move under that much pressure. All atlanteans are super strong.
