Yeah, the stamps in the app let you know that youre technically only supposed to shoot Koopalings and baddies if you want the highest score of coins and NOT shoot any Mario characters. There are different goals/achievements you can do in the app regarding the Mario Kart ride. You can also shoot hidden coin blocks (hard to find in some cases), and other bad guys on the ride. Theres even a way to get an achievement for hitting the boost by pressing both shooting buttons when the starting race countdown gets to "2" in the "3, 2, 1" sequence just like in the Mario Kart video game.
It's moments like these that made me wish the 3DS was still huge. Imagine using the AR technology for different photos, games, and more around Nintendo World! Regardless, this still looked like a whole lotta fun.
The Yoshi's Island queue was my favorite thing. When I took my son for our park preview, he was absolutely loving it. I'm glad we got to wait in it. It was about an hour wait, but not too bad with all the things we got to see. Seeing the Yoshis appear on the screens in the entry queue too was his favorite. I cannot wait to go again! I just wish we got the actual Yoshi's Ride along with Mario Kart though. I know my son would have loved it.
Nice vid guys. So glad you had an awesome day. The park looks incredible. Again, something Nintendo does so well is the attention to detail. It has something for everyone from your regular public crowd who just know Mario to the small Easter Eggs for the hardcore Nintendo fan. Thanks for showing us.
Usually when I watch travel/theme park etc type videos I get a wistful feeling that's hard to take (because usually I'm watching them bc I won't be going there anytime soon or ever), so I rarely watch such vids. But with yours all I am is hyped, and happy, and super determined to see it for myself one day!!! With such a great overview I have some idea of wher to go and what to look for so I can see everything I can.
Was fortunate to go opening day. One of the best experiences (despite only 2 hours of sleep prior) glad you guys got to experience it and enjoyed it as much as you did. Seeing the line so short compared to opening day was crazy..it stretched all the way to the pipe you enter in.

I agree with the criticism of the instructions on the Mario Kart ride. I didn't quite grasp the concept and controls until I was halfway through the ride. But it's great to see you guys enjoyed it as well. For some reason, my band didn't sync up with the ride, so I didn't get to see it on my app.
Going to a video game theme park would be a dream come true for me, i could spend all day in a place like Super Nintendo World! 😍 If they bulit a Legend Of Zelda theme park, id flip the hell out! Cant wait to watch the other two videos! ❤
You probably already know why the line for the Mario Kart ride has a Yoshi theme to it, but in case other folks in the comment section don't already know: The Super Nintendo World portion of Universal Studios in Japan has a second ride: a separate Yoshi-themed ride. It's a simple attraction where players essentially "ride a Yoshi" in a slow-moving, Fantasyland-type ride. It's aesthetically pleasing, but of course, it does take up a lot of space. Sadly, Universal Studios Hollywood does not have this attraction because there simply isn't enough room for it at the park. To compensate, the queue for the Yoshi ride from Japan's park was merged with the queue for the Mario Kart ride in Hollywood. So while Hollywood may not have a Yoshi-themed ride, at least the decorations from the ride could still live on!

You were there pretty early on a weekday and it still looked pretty crowded. I might be waiting a couple years for the hype to die down... of course by then the new Donkey Kong area will have been just built and there will be a fresh influx of crowds probably lol
At first I thought you went into the wrong ride because of all of the Yoshi theming. I wasn't aware that the Yoshi's Island ride didn't make the transition from Japan to Hollywood! Super enjoyable video. I'd honestly love to see other videos of you two exploring the rest of Universal Studios as well, but that's probably just my inner theme park enthusiast getting too excited.
Note single rider line does not let you see the main queue so you won't see the Bowser statue the trophies and everything else. It even has a different tutorial that isn't the same as the main queue and doesn't teach you everything. It's best to go to the main early so you can see the queue instead of having to go single rider which is shorter.

I went yesterday and the lines are absolutely atrocious. 1.5 hours just to get into toadstool cafe even with a Rez and 2 hours wait for the Mario kart ride. Strollers not allowed in the area which is insane. Every key to get with ur wrist band is 45 min to an hour. Also there is no places to eat except for the toadstool cafe and you can’t get re-entry to the area. A lot of room for improvement

Nice, I would love to visit this someday in person, as a Nintendo superfan based in Chicago, IL! 😀👍🏽 I definitely have to fly there to Los Angeles, CA to visit Universal Studios Hollywood and go to Super Nintendo World there, before the 2nd US location at the upcoming Universal's Epic Universe theme park, which will open along with the theme park in summer of 2025. The future 4th location at Universal Studios Singapore will also open in the same year in 2025.
This was one of the super Nintendo world video I was waiting for. People who actually know Nintendo getting to experience the land. Most of the videos you find are just the park vloggers who want to cash in on the views. I can’t wait for this to open in Florida. Also, I’m pretty sure the Yoshi stuff is in the Mario Kart queue because Hollywood couldn’t fit the Yoshi ride that Japan has so they still want to incorporate it in someway. Pleeeease do a video on the easter eggs and references!

Just curious what the timeline of concept to opening looked like. And who stareted it; Do you know if Universal pitched to Nintendo, or did Nintendo commission Universal?
It really is a shame they couldn't fit the Yoshi ride in this park. Visiting Super Nintendo World at Universal Studios Japan was one of the most exciting experiences of my life. Can't wait until Super Nintendo World in Orlando debuts with the DK park in 2025!
I've seen lots of RUclipsrs and no one then I saw, none of them, has gotten the daisy wristband. Anyway, moving on, I will love to see, a Mario game, where Bowser and all of his children, look a little similar to fire emblem characters.

It was surprisingly crowded for a Wednesday but it is still a very new park. Good planning will help ensure you have a great experience!

I feel like I’d miss out on the interior since I can’t climb stairs in my wheelchair. I couldn’t even manage that many stairs with my cane.
