The Sherman Firefly - The British Tiger Killer

During the Second World War, the British in particular had a real problem building tanks.
They found a way to combat Heavy German Tanks such as the Panther and Tiger by upgunning a regular Sherman with a 17 Pounder anti tank gun.
It became known as the now legendary Sherman Firefly.

Until the Comet, we just couldn't get the balance of armour, firepower and speed.

The comet was a great tank, sadly for many tank crews it came too late in the war to make a real difference. It was a very effective tiger killer however!
