Sexteto Habanero had a song with the same chorus and different music and rest of the lyrics. It was a popular song. However, the music Rosa as it was known was written (using the same chorus, but different overall lyrics and music) by Margin Diaz in Columbia. However, he was stolen by Irene and only later in life as an old man was he recognized and his songs recorded for posterity. He won a Grammy in 2017 not just for Rosa, his most popular song, but for his whole anonymous contribution running over decades for the Columbian music scene. He died after getting the Grammy.
The man from the 2017 version is actually the original composer of the song. He wrote the song to fight discrimination in Columbia when he was 15. The song became so popular but the credits were given to a woman named Irena. Her version isn't here. After some years later the people of Colombia rallied behind him hence the 2017 version.

This song is from cuba and was invented by the group called Sexteto Habanero and was created almost 100 years ago! On the 1927! You forgot to put that one

Oh my! Thank you for showing us and allowing us to know the truth. Most artists don’t usually say where they get their inspiration for the beats and lyrics. I’m now paying homage to the unknown original lyricists and beat makers of the phrase. And to the original Rosa, of course.❤

It samples Colombian singer Totó la Momposina song "Rosa", popular during the Barranquilla Carnival, a version of the originally Cuban son "Rosa, qué linda eres", first recorded by the Sexteto Habanero Godínez in 1918 and popularised by Colombian artist Magín Díaz.
This is a Cuban folk song over 100 years old. It’s such all through Latin America and became especially popular in Mexico & Colombia, which is where the version that is sampled in Alibi

I saw a version of 1920s from Sexteto Habanera from Cuba, slightly different sound but the lyrics were there. Amazing versions though 🥰

It's a song written in Cuba in the 20's, NOT Columbia. Latin America has "borrowed" a lot of music from Cuba.
