  • Following the recent news of A4 locomotive No.60009 has finally been retired from active running, this video has been specially put together to look back on the early years of the locomotive's early life in preservation while on the now defunct Lochty Private Railway.
Here we'll see some rare shots of this famous engine working on this little line and with it is the story of this famous engine's life that is not really talked about in full detail but in the wake of the locomotive finally bowing out, now here is the time to mark it.
This video is dedicated to all those who have kept the engine going for so long, we thank you for all your efforts.

Thanks for video, I can recall the 3 Sundays we spent at Lochty scraping the chassis to remove all the grime build up. Looking back now was a pleasure to do so, who has the regulator from Blue Peter ... I know....

A lovely video! I came here via the Facebook A4 group. I had the pleasure of going to the Great Autumn Gathering in York back in 2013 and rode behind 9 on the ELR this year.

Indeed and its first shed back on the main line was at Kirkcaldy, the Markinch, and then Thornton junction.
