I lived in Lisbon for 2 years. Sintra was my favorite place to be. I have been there so many time, also there is a forest there to explore. One day is impossible to enjoy Sintra Village.

Yes, I agree. Sintra is one of the largest municipalities around Lisbon, so you would need at least a week to see a large portion of it🫡 Thank you for your comment👍

To fully understand Regaleira you must have a guide. It has many secrets and stories, that makes it magical.

@brunoalmeida1980 I think you are right, because without a guide it is not very interesting. Yes, everything is beautiful, but there is no depth without story🫡 Thank you!

Great time watching this vídeo. Very well done. You are such a nice people. And the guide was amazing. I think he is brasilian. I'm Portuguese and he knows more of Sintra than me. 😅
    Congrats!

One of my favorite magical places in Portugal. The history and the forests and architecture is like a dream. Nice vibe with the tour guide. I enjoyed. I know it is a very tourist area, but you can not blame this area since it is so unique. The scenery speaks for it self , also being close to Lisbon, Sintra attracts tourism. See you in the next one.

Hidromel in english is mead :)

    • @millionplacesoneworld
      @millionplacesoneworld  5 месяцев назад +1

So is mel right? 😄 From info I got
now : In Portuguese, "hidromel" refers to mead, an alcoholic beverage made by fermenting honey with water, often flavored with fruits, spices, grains, or hops. "Mel" simply means honey, the sweet substance produced by bees from the nectar of flowers. So, while both involve honey, hidromel specifically refers to the fermented beverage, whereas mel refers to the raw honey itself.
Thank you for your comment 🫡🇵🇹

I love a nice long video! I have been to Sintra twice. I think it’s cool, and I think it’s a must see for tourists… so if you have people visiting you then I’d take them there… BUT tell your friends to visit in the winter! Both times I went when I had visitors and we all enjoyed it. My preference is actually Quinta da Regaleira, actually… but I was there in the winter so it wasn’t too crowded at all.. and as your wife mentioned… it was a bit rainy that day. I LOVED the Initiation Wells. Incredible! Maybe if you had started at the top you might have appreciated them a bit more. When I was there there were a couple noisy people in the bottom and one guy who was going down around the time I was, and that is it! The fact that the property was build by a Free Mason is very intriguing to me. It is beautiful! Enjoyed your tour guide. Cool guy! Pi think you definitely enjoyed it more because of him, knowing your aversion to crowds and tourists. Sintra is a very beautiful area… no denying it!
    Obrigada 🙏🏻

      Hey Jen 🖐
You are so right about that. I enjoyed the guide for the trip in Sintra. Without him, I would have been very, very "lost" 😄
Regaleira is beautiful, but once I experienced some issues with the place. It's very hard to change course, and it was already the end of the day, so I was exhausted 😅
I think we will return to Sintra one day (I was exaggerating about never going back), since there are a lot of hidden palaces, etc.
Thank you for sharing your experience in Sintra. See you 🫡🇵🇹

@@millionplacesoneworld I hear you. The first time I went, we got there a bit later than planned and didn't really know what we were doing. After a really lovely lunch at a beautiful spot half-way up the mountain, we went up to Pena and spent a long time up there. My daughter's boyfriend wanted to see the Moorish Castelo and we literally arrived at the ticket window 1 minute too late. As you know, you can walk all the way to the gates, but he was really disappointed. He'd also done some research and heard about the Initiation wells so wanted to see that but we didn't have time (shorter days in January too). So, the next time I went, with other visitors (in early February) we made sure to go much earlier and saw both Pena and the Quinta (and the village of course).
They say there are a lot of magic in the mountains of Sintra!

I still have nature to show in Sintra. I need to capture the morning vibe in the video, along with good weather (sun and morning fog). That's when it will start to look magical. One day, for sure!🙂

My son and I went to Sintra from Cascais in January. We went with Van Tour Way of Life in a wonderful Volkswagon van and Christiano and Laura are awesome guides too! What was great is, they just took us to Monserrate Palace because it's their favorite because of the Moorish Architecture and the gardens and not as crowded. It was almost mystical because of the early morning fog and we were the first ones there and only a few others came. It was amazing then we drove through the streets of the more touristy area. They then took us to the Colares Winery nearby - the oldest collective in Portugal and we did a tasting then went to a seaside lunch at Azenhas Do Mar (which reminded me of a smaller Ericeira) and then Guincho Beach and back to Cascais apt. It was my son's favorite day in all of Portugal we visited. There's just something magical about the air and vibe there if you go really early; we had far less tourists than you! (And it was winter but in the 50s (F) temperature not too cold) Van Tour Way of Life private tour for reasonable rate! (Much less than you mentioned for full day) Your guide made the experience for you and we had the same type of experience! Oh, wait...I wrote this but didn't send until the end and now you are organizing tours! Awesome.....you will be a fun guide, too! Good luck.....and I'd be interested for fall for the town in the forest you visited? What was that? Will have to check it out! Or Nazare. Great news!

Thanks for your comment. It sounds like you liked Sintra a lot. 👍 We also enjoyed it (mostly because of the guide and all the information he provided). The prices for palaces, etc. could be lower, or they could offer a single ticket for everything, but they are separately owned, so maybe that's why it's not possible.
Oh, I know what you're talking about-in the early mornings. Once I went around 6 or 7 a.m., and it was amazing with the sun, fog, and birds.
About the tours, I'm glad to hear that you're interested. I'll gladly take you wherever you need or want to go. Which town in the forest do you mean? In the Sintra video? It's all Sintra👌 And Nazaré is a good choice. You can write me an email at millionplacesoneworld@gmail.com, and I'll give you my WhatsApp🫡 Take care!

Well...How to explain 😄 If I'm tourist, I should like a lot of other tourists? If there would be lot of "me" as tourists, I would prefer place without "me". I hope you get the point 🫡

@ricardodias736 Concordo com você, aproveitamos aquele dia e foi a primeira vez que pegamos o guia. Em Sintra penso que o guia é obrigatório para navegar com todos os outros turistas e estradas/ruas estreitas👌
