Three kings ruled in China. Three kings, each dreaming of ruling all under heaven. Three kings who rallied their armies for battle. The empire, long divided, must unite; long united, must divide. Check out these informative articles from the Ancient History Encyclopedia for more reading!

Theres barely any real historical accounts of three kingdoms besides the book so i doubt “cao caos” historians wrote anything that we can use today or there’d be alot more information that they’d provide apart from that goofy ass scene you just portrayed. If this were the case nobody could say most of TK was a myth/fictional book which they certainly do understandably because there’s almost no real evidence of literally any of this happening besides Yellow Turbans the only arguable sources that survived were from Cheng Yu, Yu Jin, Liu Bei, and Sun Jian nothing about Cao Cao having historians its a huge story mixed with myth and history so who knows what really even happened if it even happened nothing is confirmed at all besides the accounts we know are true. (Not from the book made 1000 years later)
if one part of the story is a myth who knows what else was fabricated it almost discredits the entire series of events who knows they could’ve even had completely different names.

I absolutely love the way it's presented, makes it a lot more dramatic and enjoyable, and I don't really care if you mispronounce the names, but the POV of the story is very much centered on Liu Bei as the good guy, which is understandable if your main source is the Romance of the Three Kingdoms but it has to be said that pretty much all three warlords used the same dirty tricks. Liu Bei had chronic betrayal disorder, Cao Cao buried enemy soldiers alive and Sun Quan also did some messed up stuff with the hill tribes. Cao Cao is not the "evil dark lord" we portray him to be.

I know it's hard to listen to the pronunciations, but at least Chinese history is being covered more on RUclips and the west in general. I've seen so many people on Total War forums say they already hate the new Three Kingdoms game because they're not interested in Chinese history and that's such a shame. You should split the Battle of Guandu and Red Cliff into 2 videos. There are so many stories to tell between these 2 battles. Moreover, you did not even mention Zhou Yu, the true hero of Red Cliff, he was the commander of the alliance and he defeated Cao Cao in every single engagement during the Red Cliff campaign

The only thing that I am a little concerned about is whether this depiction comes from actual historical records regarding the Three Kingdoms period, or if EH is using the narrative depicted in the Romance of the Three Kingdoms.
Considering how he narrate Zhuge Liang as the greatest strategist, I am under the impression they are drawing from the novel, as Zhuge's intellect historically stems from his knowledge on government administration more than his military genius which is lacking compared to his godlike plans depicted in the novel.

Akabeurjub the problem isn't mispronunciation, I know people would still complain if they use the common Koei mispronunciation, but at least the common Koei mispronunciation makes sense for an English speaker. This pronunciation doesn't make sense intuitively from looking at either Pinyin or Wade-Giles AND it's not accurate. Worst of both worlds.
