I saw this as a kid when it came out. I was always impressed with how much effort was put in recreating the fleets. Nowadays of course it is all done CGI

Was Octavian sea sick? If he was, it cracks me up how he's still able to OWN Antony without having to lift a finger.

B.A.P. - HANDS UP #비에이피와_허니문 that's because he had Agrippa.

      Agrippa was a badass general/admiral.
Octavian's participation in strategic operations was very little, if any. He may have won it for Octavian, but this victory belongs to Agrippa.

Octavian/Augustus was of ill health his entire life. Battlefields always damaged his health due to stress, space, and lack of hygiene.

Don't all copyrights cease after 56 years? I think this film belongs to the Ages now.

Yep. It's why so many films are free to view online.
Not sure why this is not.

The best part for me is at about 6:35 or so. Notice the men rowing Marc Antony's boat. They are on sliding seats, they are feathering their oars. The oars are actually sweeps, used by college crews in the 20th century, not 2000 years ago. A little too modern.

Well, you work with what you got, not what you wish had. Movie buget was already overblown as much as it is.

Why? So a third of the empire can be handed to Egypt? It's good Mark Antony lost.

Burton left his family for her( E. Taylor). He left his two small daughters. And the youngest one was autistic. She is institutionalized still to this very day.
So not only did Antony abandon his men and his duty But Burton did it too.

it was highly costed/budget. if it was made with the normal money, that is no delays and no extra remaking of the sets, it would be considered a success.
