I was a London FIREMAN over 30 years ago before being invalided out due to service injuries, still trying to get help from social services but gradually getting there. I don't know what started this one but folk are stupid, I went twice to different high rise flats where a Shetland pony was in the living room, another time one in the lift, a 'young lady' had put her knickers on the top grill above the cooker to dry forgetting about them to do toast and another putting a poly propolene paraffin container on top of a coke boiler whilst she emptied her other shopping , I could go on, with all legislation you have to have folk that understand.
I can fully believe what you say. I have basically given up on humans. Their stupidity is beyond belief. Hope all goes well with you. Thank you for your fire service days.
First of all our huge thanks to fire fighters attended within 5 mins. I keep hearing references to Grenfel. I'm in the US and I've seen a few highrise buildings with very aggressive fires. It does, in fact appear that building codes are not adequate and nobody wants to change it. Sometimes you have to put your foot down, no matter the battle that lies ahead. These buildings would not pass inspection here in the states. However, it might suddenly collapse if it's on soft ground and in Florida.

Judging from the video, the water spray is not getting high enough to reach the fire! 😱 Hope they figure out a way to remedy that in the future. Very dangerous job to work next to a building burning high over you, yikes!
