    Thank you!!! This is the best video I've seen on Jardiance, explaining how it works! I've taken it for about 10 months, while it worked well at first, it's now giving me a lot of problems... Joint pain, horrible dehydration that's not resolved no matter how much water, I drink, hair falling out, and actually craving sugar. So I'm getting off of the drug. I don't feel well on it anymore. I tried stopping and restarting and within a few days all of the negative side effects resolved and then after restart, within a day, the horrible side effects returned especially the joint pain and excessive thirst. I believe my hair was falling out due to the excessively dry scalp from being so dehydrated. Very difficult to find on RUclips anything that talks about the negative aspects of the drug, so thank you! You should also talk in another video about the severe Black Box warnings of this drug and all the ones in this class. As you said, I'm going back to diet and exercise as number one and two. You need to be able to feel well enough to exercise and as I said this drug just started making me feel terrible.

      You are very welcome. What you said can happen, especially if it's causing severe dehydration. But you should discuss with your doctor and check if it's not something else. Don't stop medications without discussing with your doctor. Thanks

      @@Type-2-Diabetes Thank you. I'm actually doing the Carnivore Diet now and in just 5 weeks have dropped my blood sugars almost 100 points. Also, I feel so much better. I wish that everyone would promote diet over medication... Or at least alongside medication. I fully expect to be under the diabetic range within a month or so. My readings fasting are 125 to 134, down from about 217, so major improvement with diet alone and no medication. My doctor is fully on board with what I'm doing right now.

    I agree with AARON S, below... and,
    I now understand WHY I am likely urinating more since my primary Dr. doubled my Metformin to (2xs 500mg/day) AND added Jardiance !! I guess I'll just have to stop drinking so much liquids if I want to lessen trips to the toilet..I also started Saw Palmetto 2 weeks ago in case part of the prob is enlarged prostate as well as my having type II diabetes.. Even though I ingest very little white/cane sugar/milk, I believe I still eat too much carbohydrates (scone, potato wedges w/ketchup, ham/cheese sandwiches) + many oranges/apples, AND recently going thru large bottles of diet cola. Again, I assume my more frequent trips to go pee is likely a good sign in that the Jardiance is closing those 'doors' you talk about and sending the sugar to the toilet...M

    • @Type-2-Diabetes
      @Type-2-Diabetes  2 года назад +1

      Yes, Jardiance is making you urinating more. But I don't think you should just drink less, you need that water to go with the glucose. My suggestion would be to focus on your diet (from your description, your diet needs improvement ) and add some exercise. Remember to talk to your doctor first before making any changes. Thanks

But I will not stop making videos 🤭. Only consider stopping them if you can completely control your blood sugar with just diet, exercise and/or metformin, or if they are causing some of the side effects I mentioned (make sure you discuss it with your doctor ). How did your A1c change after starting to take Jardiance?

    Very informative thanks. I've been taking this drug for a couple of weeks now because my sugar levels jumped to between 17 and 24. It has now dropped to around 10 but I feel extremely tired and giddy. I was on metformin when first diagnosed but felt very ill on it so then was put on gliclazide which made me go low. Then, out of desperation I tried diet and exercise which worked really well for 2 years but then just a couple of months ago it started to climb back up again. Initially I thought the lack of energy was due to peeing all the glucose and leaving none for energy but the way you explain it that seems not to be the case.

    I was diagnosed yesterday as t2. My doctor prescribed jardiance 25mg. I have been doing keto/low carb since December, almost 6 months now and lost weight from it but my fasting sugars were still high. I feel super confused because aren’t you supposed to eat a low carb diet as a diabetic? And am I putting myself at risk for DKA if I continue on low carb? I hate the symptom of constantly peeing, that need to urinate is so frustrating that I don’t want to have to deal with it on jardiance. I don’t know what to do…my diet is low carb, I exercise moderately, yet I am where I am, with high sugar. My urinalysis yesterday showed glucose negative so that means my body is reabsorbing the sugar? That’s why I’m so high at resting? So this is a good thing to take? But then how do I eat? What do I eat? I’m so confused and my doc just doesn’t really clarify, just to take the pill and get a blood test in 2 weeks
