It works though. I've had a laugh at my kids loads of times, and none of them really cry from "simple" stuff. I teach them it's allright to cry though, but they're far less "brittle" than a lot of other kids are. Which is awesome because that means they'll experience and do more dumb stuff than I did as a kid.
Yeah, instinct is to run to them and make sure they’re okay. What you wanna do is watch them sit there for a second, then say “You alright?” Then they’re kinda distracted, and usually smile because mom/dad is talking to them (but not scaring them). From a kid’s point of view, these are my protectors. If they’re freaking out, something is seriously wrong. I should also freak out.
I love that his daughter for colouring in just takes the cap of the marker draws a line on the paper, put the lid back on and moved onto the next marker.
Haha. On point. I work at an elementary school and the amount of coddling we coworkers witness between parents and their children is unbelievable. hehe.
You didn't know you couldn't return them BEFORE you had four or did you try and take one to the post office with a return to sender label then realise shit I'm actually stuck with four kids till I die?
I think dislikes get hidden sometimes because people kind of freak about them. Some videos half the comments are about the fact that someone disliked the video!
and now he has an adorable daughter 🥺
that can never eat fruit
It's always different when it's your own kid.
The part about not making a big deal of the child falling is actually what is considered correct. It's just hard to fight your instinctive reaction.

Yeah, my personal technique as Nanny was always "AWWWWW... is anybody bleeding? No? OK, carry on."
it’s scary how much sense these jokes make.
3:30 ...and that's when the kid goes, oh shit am dying!"
Love this guy

What you described when they fall over, leave them to it and they just giggle or get up and run off. 👍

Love Jon Richardson. I wanted 7 children but stopped after 4 when I realised that they were for life!

Joke: How do you know you're getting old?
Its when people don't laugh when you fall over.
He he, I was much the same with regards to dreading the mess factor, but instinct and necessity are great teachers!
The first stand up I've seen(of John)! So honest and real! Had me in stiches!
Hilarious, relatable and ridiculously adorable 🤭 love ya!
There have been times I've laughed at my 5yr old hitting his head or something and he laughs it off with me 😄
That's how my dad raised me. 🤣
