The amount of value this provides is off the charts. I loved the Saitek X45, 52 and 56 but this is so much more versatility. Granted, it's about $50 more expensive when you factor in an avg price for the x56 is ~$230 for the joystick and throttle, so each would be $115. The premium version of the gladiator is $165. For that extra $50, you get so much!
hey guys, ordered this and just setting it up and even before I tried I am a total fan, love the ingenuity and affordability. You really thought about the customer here..Cheers!
On July 8 2022, I ordered the VKB Gladiator NXT Evo Premium Space Combat Edition and so far no issues. Works with Elite Dangerous and also works with MSFS and Spadnext without any problems.
Ordered my pair of Omnis last Thursday. ETA was this past Thursday.....and they got delivered a day early on Wednesday :D Upgrading from a (still working) pair of TM.16ks and throttle....I wasnt expecting the box they shipped in to be so small vs what the TM.16ks had shipped in....i love that the only real weight is in the base plate....which i prompt;y installed onto my new pair of desk mounts. Looking to try Elite Dangerous, Star Citizen and a few other space games with them.
OK, so I added the spring washer on the screw too... didn't know what that one was for, now I know. 🙂 Great video, it's obviously beneficial to see the stuff again sometimes. BTW: I like the Gladiator, it would be great to have an even higher level grip with brake lever axis though. Now one has to buy completely different product on a completely different base. I like this base just fine and it gives me some additional controls as well.
Hi, I have bought the NXT premium and I have swapped out the A1 and the C1 buttons because I only use it for FPS games, and I was wondering if I can buy two more of the A3 knobs because I really like the way your finger sits in them and doesn't slip out. These controllers are incredible, not only the way the all work and feel, but the way the have been designed and made to take apart to swap out buttons and repair and maintain them is really something that most others do not do. Thanks very much for a work of art.
The Omni is pretty much the same, with a similar connector and procedure. If you'll run into issues come on our Discord server, we'll figure it out there - discord.gg/UJAdpdHpYm
Hi! @VKBSim, I'm just following the guide to set up my new Gladiator, and I noticed there are 5 holes in the base plate, and 5 screws in the bag. There is a screw standoff on the pcb, directly under the 5th hole, so I assume the screw has to go there. I screwed it in after I tightened the other four. Is that correct or is the fifth screw just a spare?
It is unfortunate there is no way to attach a STECS STEM in the same manner. I wanted one of them to the side with the SEM-V above it. But the mounting system doesn't work that way ;_;
Hi, I have Two things I can't figure out, One, is how to get my Rotate Z to work, I have set it to zones and assigned buttons for it ( the same as I did for the X and Y axis) but it just won't work, and Two, is in test mode in buttons none of the lights light up as I push the buttons on the controller. Any ideas thanks.
Wait... is that cover at 7:46 part of the package ever since or is that something new? Didn't notice that on my Gladiator NXT Evo when I bought mine two years ago. It's possible I may have just completely overlooked it.
Everything after plugging into USB doesnt work out of the box... The device config (VKBDevCfg-C_v0_91_7_3) sees my L and R EVOs but when clicking them it says "Init Device... GET NXT ACTIVE CFG - FAILED"... so clicking Default doesnt ask to config or calibrate... and I cant find any easy to follow instructions to how to set these up... seems like more of a pain than its worth...
Try to plug them directly to the back of computer, no USB extensions and work with only 1 plugged at the time. If you can't initialize them properly you can fill up for a service ticket or join our Discord server for assistance discord.gg/UJAdpdHpYm The assembling and initialization procedures are supposed to take less than 10 minutes. And I assure you it's worth it and I'm not the one saying that, but other thousands of happy users out there.
@@VKBSim i mean simply stick with FF , in this case some flight sim sticks achieve the same function in combat sim ,,,they are ok for Freespace 2...,question, what do you think about Thrustmaster warthog flight or Moza AB9 for combat sim, thanks
My Gladiator premium arrived right in the moment i was playing this video!!!
Quality and reparability at an affordable price... crazy engineering.
Honestly I have been hunting around, and it's the modular capabilities that got me sold

You're good - 5 holes, 5 screws, that's the latest upgrade.

Is the C1 button and A1 HAT switch that come in the bag replacement extras? The video didn't talk about installing them, might have missed something
They are to revert it to the standard stick setup not sure why you would want to though.
i got mine today. right stick(grip) doesnt work at all. no blue light no input

That is one of the more recent upgrades. We're doing silent upgrades from time to time to a device.
How many programable buttons does the premium have and does it have a pinkie like the X52 has.
34 buttons, the pinkie included.
@@VKBSim Ok thanks, it is time to retire my X52 after 18 years.
Will this HOTAS work on Linux based OS.. open source firmware or dkms module for the sticks? Looking foe elite dangerous and drone control system
It should work on Linux; however, you'll have to run the initialization and calibration on Windows.
Is it possible to switch the stick to one of your other available models like the F-14 and Warbird stick to the Gladiator base?
Yes, the Gladiator base could take the SCG left and right, F-14 and KG12 grips.

Для чего стойка под винт на плате, если в пластине нет под него отверстия?
Will this work with a X 52 throttle
Of course, it would work with any other joystick or throttle, no matter the maker.
Does it have force feedback?
No, it doesn't (yet).
@@VKBSim some stick model(for space combat sim) that you people have with FF ? thanks
