Greetings from UK and thanks for this video I really SHOULD find out more about overseas trains but never get round to it Holsworthy I wish!! The Holsworthy in the UK last saw trains in 1966 (located in North-West Devon, South West England).

Welcome to the channel of old and new. The 46 class was a class of mainline electric locomotive built by Metropolitan-Vickers and its partner Beyer, Peacock & Company in England for the Department of Railways New South Wales. So a little bit more of the UK here in OZ. I will now do a bit of research for Holsworthy UK !

@@nswrailvideos7113 Basically, it's the former London and South Western Railway's network west of Exeter, Devon. Holsworthy was on the line from Okehampton to Bude, Cornwall. Most of the network is now closed, but Exeter to Okehampton was thankfully reopened in November 2021. Exeter-Barnstaple and Plymouth-Gunnislake are the other two lines operating.

Wonder what happened to 4615 (ownership unknown) which is probably the only surviving 46 in operational condition? It was stored at Lithgow about four years back, also a pity an 85 class hasn't been preserved in working order for some tours. Grant Goldman announcements take me back, also TV news reader Anne Sanders done announcing for CityRail. Great video, especially the Rozelle scene, much enjoyed.

When you say the late "Bruce Cook"? are you saying the Late Brigadier Bruce Cook? Friend, Mentor of mine that I served with in the Army that once worked at TNT?

Unsure. Best of my knowledge Bruce was a bus and rail enthusiast whom conducted many rail tours in the 90s. Bruce passed in 2008.
