They had some other hits as well. Naughty naughty and a ballad as well. They were at the tail end of the hair metal scene before grunge swept in. But fun group!
This was one of two hit singles from Danger Danger's 1989 self-titled debut, the second one being "Naughty naughty". This, their classic lineup, consisted of its two creative forces and songwriters: bassist EXTRAORDINARE (Juilliard student!) Bruno Ravel and drummer Steve West, as well as singer Ted Poley, guitarist Andy Timmons and keyboardist Kasey Smith. Sadly, they only did one more album with this lineup, "Screw it!" in 1991, from which they got their biggest hit in the power ballad "I still think about you". After that, like so many of their contemporary colleagues, they were "killed by grunge". Thankfully, although this fact remains unknown to many in the US, the "killed by grunge" phenomenon was only temporary and the melodic hard rock and glam metal sounds would come back with a vengeance - but that's a story for another day. At any rate, Danger Danger's classic lineup was only moderately successful at the time: appearing at the tail end of the golden age of "hair metal", many found them somewhat unnecessary and not really standing out. However, later Danger Danger would be recognized as a cherished gem from the hair metal era and be held in the highest of regards among genre connoisseurs. And they did struggle on, or more accurately, Bruno Ravel and Steve West struggled on, with certain cult level success, with new frontman Paul Laine and Swedish guitarist Rob Marcello. In 2004, Ted Poley - who has also had an on and off solo career - returned to the band, and the whole classic lineup united for a tour in 2014. They have not, however, released another album since 2009. But they still exist, technically - and doubly. Because Ravel, Laine and Marcello now have the band the Defiants, whose three albums have met with considerable praise among melodic rock enthusiasts - and at times Steve West have sat in behind the drumkit for the Defiants too, truly making them Danger Danger in all but name.
Oh yeah - I almost forgot! Paul Laine is also doing his part in pushing forward the next generation of hair metal stars, mentoring 20-year old singer/guitarist/solo artist Cassidy Paris, who is currently creating quite a stir in her native Australia, and abroad to a rapidly expanding extent.
I didn’t know you gals reacted to Danger Danger 2 months ago. I love this band. Despite only having a few hit songs, they have several others that could have been hit songs, if they came out a few years earlier. It’s cool how Danger Danger wrote songs with double words I. The title like their bands name. Bang Bang, Naughty Naughty, and even later on with Goin’ Goin’ Gone. One of my favorites by them, that I don’t believe was released as a single is Under the Gun. Also good songs from their self titled album is Don’t Walk Away, Rock America, and Boys Will Be Boys.
They were a really fun band, great to listen to and see live. Very fan friendly guys and an all around great band. Can’t go wrong with any tune by them. 👍👍
Just some info for ya. The lead singer Ted Poley comes from a musical family. His aunt wrote Someone over the Rainbow and the other Wizard of Oz songs back in the day. He's got a huge musical family.
Music was fun in 1990, there was a large variety of styles of music before the record company's put everything into grunge rock and gangster rap. 1990-1992 make up about 1/3 of my 1.5k cd collection.
Dang good band I remember them in the 80s one song is " let's get naughty naughty " can't play that one with LuLu present very sexual but awesome song, love you ladies keep on rocking 🤟
I loved your Carol Burnett show video so I went through your channel videos of all the music, and honestly couldn't find ONE great song I wanted to see your reaction to. No Petula Clark or Sinatra, or Linda Ronstadt, or The Turtles or The Seekers or The Monkees or Bobby Darin.... Here's a suggestion Lulu may like - Peter Sarstedt "Where Do You Go To (My Lovely)". Please try to broaden your selection!
The 80s had too many great bands to mention. The big ones got all the attention , but danger danger, TNT, Lillian axe, firehouse, South gang, Saraya, femme fatale, Fiona, were better than the big bands in my opinion! If you could react to a great female rocker , Fiona", " ❤️ Hearts of fire, " video, you'd love it! Keep the 80s Rock alive❤❤
One of my favorite bands from the 80s. A little bit underrated. But so good. I think I got all their cassettes from the 80 s and if I remember right I got a pretty new CD there is that came out in the last few years

Great Band! One of my faves
So fun to see 3 generations react to one of my favorite 80's tunes. Wait, was it 90's maybe? It was a blur...........
I feel 20 again, saw them supporting Kiss in 1992, a great band
First song I heard from Ted Poley was: Escape from the City
15 years later I discover his 80's band :O
D² was incredibly underrated
Ted Poley still got a full head of hair, looks pretty much the same - only older
Beat the bullet is another great song of theirs to check out
