This guy is the definition of mastering your craft i love richards entertainer what a phenomally well performed piece. Insane dexterity precision rhythm crazy harmonies even though i dont believe in him im sure he sold his soul to the devil to get this good. Also, wicked rendition of a classic song.
My kids groan or laugh at me when Georgy Girl comes up on my playlist. I don't care ... I love it. I had the privilege of seeing The Seekers a few years ago at the Royal Albert Hall in London, when Judith Durham was well enough to perform after her stroke. She was obviously frail, but her voice was as strong as ever. I loved it. But this guitar rendition? I am smiling all over my face. Stunning interpretation, and do I see a trace of satisfaction in the guitarist? No problem .. you carried it off brilliantly. Bravissimo.
Thank you, Richard, for bringing some joy to the world today. Difficult times to be sure. I am looking forward to more videos and perhaps a chance to see you live on day.
@@richardsmithmusic I am based in Syracuse NY and I just missed getting tickets to see you in Penn Yan. By the way, I have watched your CAAS The Entertainer video about a hundred times and it still makes my jaw gape.
You brought out the true beauty and the colors of this song in a way that makes me feel that I've heard it for the first time again - very stirring for me. There are fair number of instrumental renditions of this song on acoustic guitar here on YT but this surpasses them all by far.
Richard I saw u at a music convention in Durham NC a few yrs back u really helped me get my travis picking down, Im learning ur version of "The Entertainer" thanks for letting the world enjoy ur talent!
Sent my way by the intuitive genius of RUclips: Richard Smith playing his own signature model of a KIRK SAND guitar -- the "finest nylon-string instruments ever made." Says who? Oh ... Chet, and Jerry Reed, and Lenny Breau (who grew up here in Winnipeg from age 15) and Doyle Dykes (who played at Chet's memorial service at the Ryman). Tommy Emmanel is the latest to acquire one (a steel-string acoustic model). In the pantheon of living guitar greats, only England's Martin Taylor doesn't own a Kirk Sand. (Or does he?) Each of these giants has brought something new to the game -- some little innovation, all their own -- which is a measure of their greatness. Which is to say, Thanks, Richard Smith! Cannot imagine a more beautiful rendition of this old favorite, Georgy Girl. P.S. As I listen in awe (for the third time) I'm thinking: You know who would love this? Mr. Guitar. Who knew you from, what? age nine? I imagine Chet looking down and saying, 'A man after my own heart.'

Really enjoyed your contribution to Tommy Emmanuel's show last night at the Rialto in Loveland. Thank you so much
I remember listening to this tune on my transistor radio back in the day. A great arrangement Richard!
Thanks Brian. It's very much Chet's arrangement, but I changed a few little things.
Richard, Do you have TAB written out for this?@@richardsmithmusic

An amazing and beautiful instrumental rendition. Love it 💚
Thank you! It's based on Chet's arrangement. Just a few little changes.
Most excellent, beautifully realized on guitar. Works really well as a solo piece.

There's not many guitarists in Nashville that can touch Richard. CGP by Chet himself. Great cover of Georgie. Thx

When are you coming back to our Living Room? David will be here next year
Richard: Very nicely done. :) Is the sheet music available for sale on your website ? Thank you. for your help. Antoine
Hey Richard, does the bridge of your guitar have metal plates on the three bass strings? can you explain it better? GRAZIE 😉🙂
Hey, Paolo! It's a ground for the pickup. It's like a permanent "temporary" fix. It works
