i remember seeing Richard all the time at the Guitar Shoppe in Laguna Beach where Kirk Sand built that guitar he is playing. Richard used to hang out with us in our apartments behind the shoppe right on the Pacific Ocean. What a great virtuoso, but also a great guy. I remember one night I was playing jazz a a restaurant downtown and Richard and Kirk came by and peered into the window to give me the business. Those were some good times.
Hey Brad!! Great to hear from you! I hope all is well. Where are you these days? Still in CA? I was just at Kirk’s shop a couple of weeks ago. I had wondered where you were for a while. I remember you being a big Barney Kessel guy. Bruce Forman now owns his guitar.
SO NICLY DONE AND WITH ENERGY 👍👍LET ME TELL YA ...I LOVE JAMMING WITH THE WORLD CLASS JAMMERS..... ITS THE ONLY WAY TO GO. Tell them all, a "fan" says hi 😃😃😃
@@TheGazaMethodChannel No, but Richard played it by himself. The concert was organized where Richard Smith played first for about an hour, then Tommy came out and did his show, then Richard joined Tommy for six or seven songs toward the end. It was a great show. I also saw Tommy last month in Lebanon, NH. Always entertaining.
Fabulous, Richard! Drove by Barking Legs a couple of weeks ago and the legs were gone! Researched and found that they were being refurbished and were to return to the building. Looking forward to seeing you again!
Hmm, best cover of this tune yet. Richard nails it!. Takes years to get this tune right. Richard a big fan of Chet. But I'm curious on the guitar? Model, anyone know. Great tone certainly.
Amazing! Love this tune but I’ve been struggling to get past that first huge stretch for months. You’ve motivated me to get back to working on this tune.
Many years ago, I tried to work this out from Chet’s record and did my left hand an injury attempting those stretches. I gave it up as a bad job. Leave stuff like this to the experts.
What the hell man! Plays that hands stretchy and difficult scales song like its nothing. A song I cant master after 50 years of playing guitar. I think that right now, today, Richard is probably the best all around guitar player in the world. Chet and Jerry would be two of his greatest fans if they were still alive as nobody does Chet and Jerry as good as Richard Smith. Nobody!
My father Gene Slone wrote this song and Chet Adkins recorded. I love hearing other picking artist perform it.
Did you ever meet Mr. Atkins?
unfortunately no I never got to meet him. @@thomaslawson7469
Whoa! Wondered who wrote that amazing beaut! He must have been a helluva player! That song is monster!
Oh my goodness. What a group of people to have been around. Must have been magic all that personality and talent!
Richard Smith, all I can say is one of the greatest guitar players ever
Yup - Richard, Tommy E, Doyle Dykes - some of the very best!
Thank you for keeping Chet Atkins music alive. Amazing guitarist.
How can a person be this good?! Damn!

Richard always makes even the most complex arrangements look easy! What a superb player he is!
Bravo! That is the best rendition I’ve heard played outside Chet himself. Good dynamics and feel! Chet is smiling. Great job!
WE LOVE RICHARD SMITH!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Lol! Thank you
Adore this performance, Richard. Amazing 😍.
Greetings from Poland to the guitar virtuoso.
Love it...Richard really gives it...nice job

Keep practicing Richard!... don't be discouraged.
I saw Richard Smith with Tommy Emmanuel in Bristol last summer....brilliant guitar players and a most entertaining show.
Oh my goodness! Richard Smith and Emmanuel together? Did they play Cascade together?

Richard, you've still got the best 'hands' around. Truly wonderful rendition, spot on.👏👏👏👏👏👏

It's a Kirk Sand "Richard Smith" model
Sounds like Les Paul on acoustic. Love it. Another one for the "I want to play this one day" list.
i don't know what to say .... so amazing !
Fantastic Mr. Smith
Just got some new tuners for my old classical beater. Thanks for the inspiration.
Loving the frequent uploads! Great tune.
Thanks. Once a week now. Maybe twice soon.
We’ll find a good formula.
Most excellentA!
Love it. Hope you enjoyed Pickleman's in Springfield, MO last fall. Was nice to meet you (if briefly).

Anyone can strum a guitar . This man plays it.

One of my favourites! Such clean playing as always from the master!

you are WOW
Brilliant 😂
Killer stuff
Nice. I love the metronome😂
Incrível!!!!
Has Richard ever had an show with Willy Nelson?
Not my kind of music but I have to admit he played it brilliantly.
I love it Richard! Any chance I can find out where your getting the backing from?
It would be beautiful??🫠🤷♂️❤️
Wizard
There's a reason Tommy Emmanuel calls him the champ.
I don't know how this is possible with only 26 fingers.
Richard Smith is the closest to Chet's picking I've ever heard.
We all the story of The Devil went down to Georgia…….im just gonna leave it there
what gauge strings do you use?
Merle travis intro haha
not utterly insane playing, not even a little!
