Michael Dunn's Statement at His Sentencing Hearing

Former Lakeland City Commissioner Michael Dunn addressed Circuit Judge Donald Jacobsen just before the judge issued his sentence on Monday, May 23, 2022. Dunn started out by apologizing to the family of shooting victim Cristóbal Lopez and then to his wife. The video picks up as he apologizes to friends who addressed the court on his behalf.

He’s a Former Lakeland City Commissioner. Michael Dunn was sentenced to three years in prison for fatally shooting a homeless man who was suspected of trying to shoplift a hatchet from the military surplus store that Dunn managed.
