Locking focus worked !!!! Thanks :)))))
Glad to hear!!
Another way to have a focusing target for self portraits is to use a light stand with a piece of white card taped to it; the card should have a big black 'X' on it to give the camera a clear target. The card can be at whatever height you want because most light stands go up to about 7 feet.
The advantage is that you can position yourself then just move the stand out of shot; if it's a close up all you have to do is tip it away on two of the feet, letting it tip back to where it was before, if you need to go to adjust the camera.
Im so happy I found you and this video. Just what I needed. Both in terms of settings and your info about calibration.
Yesterday i struggled quite a bit with my 85mm lens and thought, this super expensive lens have never really worked for me, WHYYYYYY!! And now it seems that there's a perfectly good explanation to that. THANK YOU so so much, for at very detailed and clear instruction.
I so hope you're able to get that lens working for you!! Its so disappointing to deal with!
Love your video. I have a line of Canon cameras (xTi, t7i, and recently got my 5D Mark IV). Another tip for getting your self-portraits is to use an intervalometer and set it to take a photo every second or two. I do this for shoots with my family. Great tips in your video - I liked your priority for the exposure triangle.
Yes!! I know another photographer that uses this technique as well!! 👍
This was great! Thanks for all the added side notes as well like about live view and lens calibration! These spoke to my issues.
I'm so glad it was helpful!!!
This video is exactly what I needed. Beautiful clear instructions and demonstrations.
Thank you for such a well put together video.
I'm so glad this was helpful!! It seems like the most common struggle I see people asking for help with online 💖
I have come across your channel while searching for Christmas photography flat lays. I love your videos, especially your fun and positive personality. Thank you for sharing your creativity and knowledge with us. ☺
Awesome! Thank you so much!! I'm so happy my videos are helpful for you 😄😄😄
Fluffly doesn't look so fluffly.LOL.I love you Fluffly.
Totally agree with you on the settings to start! LOL I always manual focus. Filmmaker force of habit lol! Darn, we don't need fluffy anymore? Hmmm... lol! Learned something with the different remotes. Thank you!
I'll always need fluffy, he's my best friend 😅😅
Great video. You have a gift.
Love from India ❤️❤️, it's really helps me a lot ❤️❤️
Nice tips thanks
Perfect!
Thank you
haha. ok fluffy sold it for me. new subbie here. fluffy did a great job. I have the same issue with getting focus especially with auto focus doing its thing while im in front of the camera. so I use my son's Donald duck stuff toy. lol.
Donald duck!! Ha 😆 love it!!
When you're using the focus ring on the lens you can absolutely set your camera to have the focus point light up when focus is achieved. You have to half press the shutter button THEN turn the focus ring to begin establishing focus, THEN press the shutter button the rest of the way to take the picture when the focus point lights up to confirm focus(or if you're using back button focusing, just press the button assigned to focusing, adjust the focus ring on the lens then take your finger off the button, THEN press the shutter button). And as long as you're on the same focal plane for every picture you can turn any which way you like. You just can't change the distance you are from the camera.
Thank you!
Welcome!
Well done !
Thank you ☺️
Your welcome.
What type of autofocus do you set your camera on since you are not in the picture when setting it up? Do you just put something there as a prop and focus on it?
You are a great presenter…
Thanks so much 😊 🙏
Did you do a video on how to tell if a lens is not calibrated for your camera body? I've already searched your channel and did not find it.
I have not done that yet, no one had seems all that interested but now you mention it I absolutely can!!
Did you adjust your shutter speed because it was way to low for a sharp pic.
What’s the name of your best remote control?
The remote that I use the most is a brand called NEEWER the model is NW-860 tx . I love it the only down side is the battery in the receiver side is like a weird size that's hard to find in stores and costs more than regular batteries.
The app on my phone for my Nikon works halfway. It triggers the camera but I can not see what I shot 😅😂
thats rough!! I have a camera that connects to the canon app now and I still don't like it, its always blurry and I can't tell if the shot is in focus or not.
Just like focus is a beginning subject for self portraits, so is cleaning your room for people wanting to do videos for RUclips.
thanks for the pro-tip 👍
her room setup was your take away from this??!! 🙄 geeez smh… 😕
