- Hello, friends! I hope that you had a wonderful week! In this week's vlog, I take you with me on a photoshoot with an adorable -- and very wise -- little subject. And ... I finally found my table at my very favorite thrift store! It's the perfect addition to the cottage.

I’m grateful this week for my 2 new kitty girls, Coco & Wafa. I lost my 2 kitty boys at the end of last year and wasn’t actively looking for a kitty but they have a way of finding me. These little girls lost their person to death and had lived several months with no one to love them, only every other day minimal care. It has been a joy to watch them growing less fearful and more trusting. They act like I’ve bathed in catnip! They are so happy to be loved again! Come to think of it, don’t we all need that?!

Love that you embrace the kid in you. As for grateful for?...life. Was diagnosed with cancer last year. By the grace of God, am now in remission. So...waking up, breathing and able to be grateful (even through challenges) is a blessing.

Your videos are one thing that make me happy. :) And my beloved cats-I have 6 of them. I've never heard of an ASPCA thrift store; what a wonderful idea. When I wanted to hang some plates and couldn't find plate hangers, I remembered reading a craft tip. If you take the tab off a pop can and use E6000 glue to glue it to the back of the plate, you have a plate hanger that holds strong and doesn't cover the front like the springy kind does. Just let the glue dry for a while. I have several plates hanging in my home with this kind of hanger.

What a lovely table & just the right size. Many single people eat standing up or parked on the couch. I like a proper meal served on a lovely place setting with French china & utensils.
Weeeeeell ... I have to admit to loving a good couch dinner, lol : ) But I'm working on it!!!!❤❤❤❤❤❤
I cheered out loud for you when you found your table! Thank you so very much for your videos. They are so refreshing and I look forward to seeing them always. Thank you also for seeing beauty in the smallest of things. Today, I was grateful for a morning of coffee and the blue jays that visit me in my driveway every morning. Your table is quite adorable and perfect. I live with several plates on my wall. Yours are charming. This week I have really felt grateful for some quiet home time and my animals. I just love your Charlie.
What made me happy? I am moving into a place out of town away from this unsafe neighborhood I'm in. My little dog Joe Joe gets on his hind legs and puts his front paws around me and gives me unconditional love. My little Sammy sees this and has his own way of loving on me. Our pets can give us unconditional love. That is what Im grateful for

I lived most of my life in northwest Washington close to the Canadian border. Had to move for my husband's job. We ended up in St. Louis. I hated the grocery store there. Went home for a visit and broke down crying in the bulk food section of my favorite grocery store. I thought I was being so silly. So I understand the grocery store situation. I love your videos. I smiled so hard when you opened with all those little crocuses. Ahhh so beautiful

Thank you as always for your calming video and inspiration. Grocery shopping is very nostalgic for me. I grew up with a mom that cooked 100% from scratch, and we often shopped together. I’m currently living in a rural town caring for my aging dad while still Working full-time. A few days a week I get to escape and have someone stay with my dad while I travel for work, and always make a point to find a grocery store that I love my way back home to pick up some of the things I can’t find my locally. I also enjoy cooking and just making a comfortable beautiful home for my dad and I.
I am grateful for my little fur babies that keep me company because I live alone. Also grateful for my family and health. I love that thrift store Kate! The table is adorable! Love the wallpaper on the end of the cabinet, it looks complete ❤ thank you for all the nature shots. Zoey is sending love to Charlie ❤

Ahhhh, grocery stores: they can make shopping a hated chore or an adventure. I choose mine for the adventure, and the quirky treasures found amongst its shelves. PS: The table is lovely.

I'm glad that you finally found your little tabel and I love the green flowerpot you have put on it. You fix your home just in my taste, I also love things that have been loved bye other people before me. And one other thing- I appreciate the secuence when you were talking outside the thriftstore with no make up. Just beeing who you are, the everyday person🌷. I'm grateful for so many things, health, children and grandchildren, and the sun is back- winter is soon over (-5 this morning and about 30 cm snow left). But whats most in my mind those days is that I'm about to retire, only one more month to work before pension which means -FREEDOM!

Wow 2 of my fave things, a thrift store with animals! I am so so grateful for so many things, my two lovely kids, my beautiful granddaughters, my two pupper dogs, my hubbie that I met in high school and have been married to for 42 years, and my best friend my Mom who just turned 91. I am grateful everyday for so much !

Luv the table, I have one similar but mine is 90cms round. When you were at the thrift store i saw a quick glimpse of a table runner that was black background with a floral pattern 🤔 and that chair that was near the table had a black background with a floral patterned seat and I was saying to the screen ‘get them’ lol then I said ‘oh no she didn’t get them’ lol Charlie is super cute. ♥️
Haha ... I soooo wanted that chair! But it needed a lot of work : ( And somehow I didn't really notice the black table runner until I watched the video, too!!!!!! I bet it was only like $1, too! Well, someone definitely got it and will love it : )❤❤❤

I am a petsitter and I am fortunate to have 2 young Chihuahuas that I get to stay with. I think that's why I love seeing you and Charlie together. I can so relate to many things you're saying. I live in the Hudson Valley.
About thrifting difficulties here, when you said that in previous videos, I yelled, "See! I'm not the only one who thinks the thrifting here is mostly horrible!" - for what's out there but the ridiculous pricing, especially having watched so many thrifters and resellers across the country who regularly find incredible things at very reasonable prices.
I was wondering if you were in an SPCA store near Accord because in 1999 they had a rummage sale at a church there where I found a gorgeous gigantic antique mirror with a buttercream yellow and gold frame for $30. I sold it a few years ago for $400 on ebay. It was too heavy for me to deal with anymore.
About mechanics...please trust me on this ...Franz Auto in New Paltz. As Hometown trustworthy as you'll ever find...23 years going to them, not once did I ever doubt their work. They go above and beyond.
Everyone in the area, (especially the smart people lol) knows they're the best and loves their dog Remy who roams around inside. Tell them Marla sent you.

Oh, and I can't tell you how many times I said, .."there's no Trader Joe's, Costco, Whole Foods, Savers in the Hudson Valley"

So happy for you that you found your perfect table! I so 'get' the need to do the wallpaper asap before anything else! It's just something that would bug you 'til it was done! Pleased you are enjoying your work with children. I used to write a weekly column, 'Ask the Kids' which I really enjoyed. They are often wise beyond their years and we can learn much from them. I‘m not sure if I was grateful for something this week. Maybe for just a few bits of sunshine, for the first daffodils in my garden, and for the beautiful soul of a friend‘s collie, whom I was looking after. Thank you for sharing your thoughts! I'm so jealous of the crocus being up there. We still have a couple months of winter here in Nova Scotia. It's beautiful seeing them. I love your new table!!! It's so pretty. "Grandma" 🤣🤣🤣style. I feel like that has been me since I was 20. I m 58 and still loving it 💖👍💖 ( not a grams either🤣)

Lovin the purple field of crocuses . You are so talented the way you catch the light and colour is just fabulous. So pleased you found your table and looks amazing in your lounge area . I agree about thrift/ charity shops . I now have to go an hour's drive from where I am to get a bargain but well worth it . She keeps her prices low and so has a good turnover of stock . The only thing is that like you I need to get my fix more often . Lol . Well happy hunting for those treasures and enjoy the sunshine when it comes . I've had a white carpet of snow drops in my garden this year and just noticed I have tulips, daffodils and hyacinths about to come out so like you I'll be spending some time in my garden when the weather gets a little warmer . So happy for you , you can cuddle Charlie. I love cuddling all my animals!! I have three whippets, two cats and a horse. Thankfully they love being with me. My horse lives on a paddock paradise and when he hears me he comes trotting fast to me and neighs to me. My heart all ways melts that such a big animal loves seeing me. I have him since he was born so the bond is deep.

Beautiful table find! Fave thrift places are so important to me as well. Had a fave place when I lived in Atlanta (actually was called "My Favorite Place"!) Also had a fave place when I lived up in the Mohawk River Valley, and when I lived in Western MA. There was a big one in this little town I've moved to, had been here decades, but they retired to a warmer climate shortly after I moved here. Miss them and their place filled with all it's treasures

Totally normal to be sentimental about your grocery stores! I've moved a lot myself and always find "my" grocery store. I live in RI and I've found I have to have multiple stores. At least they all do have their special products that make them worth multiple trips. Glad you found your table and that it came from your animal store. Love your style!

I, too, drive to another town for my groceries (really great veggies and the best prices!) and until recently I also drove an hour to a garage for car repairs that was an hour away!
