The concerts, road, hotel, backstage stories those two legends could tell from the 60's and 70's they played with Everyone in that time period.--many of whom no longer here. They survived, look and sound great and continue to play great music.
When it comes to a rhythm section, Leland and Russ are the “A” team! They should write a book about all the Artist they have backed. Talk about a Who’s Who.
If you haven't already check out Lee's You Tube channel..It was started at the beginning of the pandemic when he couldn't leave the house..and with few exceptions he hasn't missed a day rolling out these videos.A very behind the curtain look at his great career and more. A fun guy who wears his emotions on his sleeve. www.youtube.com/@lelandsklar6363
Thanks so much for this clip. I turned the CC on because I couldn't make out what Lee said and the Closed Captions just couldn't handle Lyle's accent. Some additional funny stuff there :) So, this means that you were one of the luky ones out in the audience. Looks like a fun show.
I know there are some who couldn’t hear the exchange or couldn’t grab the context so here you go. Sunday was Father’s Day. Lyle pointed out the fact that Lee didn’t have any kids earlier in the show. He saw 2 guys in the front row with beards longer than his and asked them to stand up. Funny bit so while Lyle was introducing he said we already met his family..etc. He asked the name of his website and Lee said lelandsklars beard.Com. He plugged his coffee table book of hundreds of people giving him the finger. Lyle wanted to say that they are for sale at the theater but Lee said that they were having a “merch” issue but they could get it on line. Then he talked about the t shirts with his beard on them. Lee said I thought they were real. Ok.. I think you can take it from here folks.
My nephew and I are friends of Lee (his ‘family’) and were sitting in the front row wearing Lee Sklar tribute beards (“I thought those were real!”) to pay homage to him. :-)
😁😁Great job!!!! Maybe Mark Brooks can type up a transcript or something! (Couldn't make out all of it, but it sounded like a great time was being had by all!).
Kunkel/Sklar a match made in rhythm section heaven.

Two absolute legends! Thanks for catching this on video!
I would easily attend a concert to see Leland Sklar and Russ Kunkel, regardless of whom was the headline singer!
The cream of the crop😎👍
