I remember getting into the car with my Mom. I remember flirting with the dentist. Lol Then, I remember waking up on the couch about 8 hours later, and the evening news was on.
Have had mine removed in the US and then in DE and can confirm the experience was quite different. However I never got the "high" you see in videos from the US like that - there was far too much pain and anxiety! Maybe the US just needs to update its technology or methods because the wisdom teeth extractions in DE went smoothly, without being heavily medicated.
It’s an oral surgeon usually, not just a dentist, so they’re putting you under. And it depends on the person. I went all the way under to have all my wisdom teeth removed, and I was perfectly lucid when I woke up.

Doc said if it didn't work he would postpone the extraction for 2 weeks and put me on antibiotics but I was in too much pain and lied about it taking effect, halfway through he realized I could feel it but he had to finish. I felt like a woman giving birth except it was my face that felt like exploding, I didn't care that I would feel the tooth being ripped out, just wanted it out. There was no laughing afterwards.

They gave me an intravenous drip when I had mine taken out. Go to sleep for 30 minutes, wake up loopy, feel nothing for 12 plus hours.
