For some reason, this line from Shogun reminded me of Game of Thrones -- when Ned Stark said, "The only time a man can be brave, is when he is afraid." What a surprising & terrific show Shogun has been.
Akechi Mariko is such a well written and well portrayed character. Her character was so vulnerable and so powerful at the same time . Anna did a great job in bringing the character to life. Mariko was the epitome of living and dying for what you believe. I have never been so this drawn to a character recently. You did a really good job giving a tribute to the character. If Anna is not nominated for an Emmy Award I will never watch the Emmy Award show again. I think I fell in love with Anna and Mariko a little bit and I’m still upset that she died. I also think that the costume designers should win the Emmy Award too.

Anna Sawai's character portrayal of Mariko sama is THE yardstick by which all Emmy nominations (and rightful wins) should be measured. Her portrayal of Mariko sama brought the character to life for me and I felt a profound loss at her death. I had to step back and realize it was only her skill that brought me to feel the way I did...towards a movie character. Anna broke me when Mariko sacrificed her life to regain her family honor by exposing Ishido's tyranny while serving her Lord. I was broken again with Blackthorne's line, "No Translator." with her presence being most felt in her absence. What a true artist Anna Sawai is to be able to pull that emotion from her viewers and make them feel every bit of her soul that was put into her performance.
beautiful. i love you mariko-sama. well edited video. anna sawai deserves every acting award. she is mesmerizing and talented. her character has emotionally impacted me the most out of any other TV show. what an emotional rollercoaster.

Oda nobunag is having a lot pro and con for what he had achieved. He was like Napoleon.
