To me he has some kind of distortion in his voice, but that is what makes it so great.

As a voice coach , the perfection of Kurt Nilsen's voice is simply breathtaking. The high notes are not only hit so accurately but so effortlesly 'and' sung with complete joy for singing. I love this so very much.

Amazing performance by Kygo and Kurt, but the orchestra really took this song to a whole new level. Those strings and the harp are just pure magic. Props to the man or woman who composed the orchestra music for this act.

I've been following Kurt Nislen from his first Idol days and I can't understand how this dude didn't get world famous. His voice is out of this world.

@@jordy46682 Bocelli is not in the sake league as Kurt Nilsen. There are much better operatic singers out there. But he's still great and can sing better than most people will ever be able to so kudos to him too.
He didn't want to.
He never tried. At some point he even said he never really wanted it. He did have a brief career in the Country genre in the US though. But even that was short lived because of his priorities. He's a family man at heart.
The songs composed for him are not that good, to be honest.
He needs to do collaboration with these new song writers.

As someone that has been around for awhile, I have had the joy of listening to some extraordinary singers from the Beatles, Freddie Mercury, Fleetwood Mac and on and on. This young man surely rates right up there with the best. I wish him great success and happiness as he has given me such joy.
Every word he sings is so clear. Sometimes a singer sounds amazing but it is difficult to make out the words sung. It happens with singers all over the world but Kurt sings each word so clear and so beautiful. I get chills listening to him. Thank you Kurt for gracing us with your amazing beautiful voice.
He has without a doubt the best pitch of any idol alumni.

Best male voice I've ever heard apart from Michael Jackson. So damn pure and beautiful... Didn't even know about him before finding this video 1-2 months ago. When I first heard him i was like "this must be what a singing angel sounds like..."
First time I heard him was 17 years ago (gosh, time flies. Its that long since I heard his voice for the first time on Norwegian idol). I have adored his voice ever since.. He always gives me goosebumbs. If he was american he would’ve been one of the biggest artists there is. Its pretty crazy that people in the industry wouldnt do everything they could to broadcast a voice like that. I dont think he care to mostly have a career here in Norway....but a voice like that shouldnt be hidden away here...it should be known all over the world.

The video quality is pretty bad, but the sound is okay... He was litterally bullied by the judges (especially Simon Cowell) because of his looks (which made me so mad). He won the hearts of the viewers and got top points from every country.

@VICtorian071 Conrad Sewell did NOT write this song. The lyrics was written by Martijn Konijnenburg, and the music was composed by Kygo
VICtorian071 so when you cover a song, are you not supposed to do some of the same things the original person did? The way both of them same the song is entirely different. Kurt was sharp with his notes where Conrad sang more with head voice and would purposely sing some notes flat. I get it you personally like the original better, but no need to respond with such a pompous attitude. (Also just realized this was 6 months ago that you said that so I’ll admit I’m a bit late to respond)

Oh God, this song brought me to tears. This is the best version that I've heard so far. Hats off to the performers and the musicians.
Too many people are talking about how Kurt Nilsen brings this song through, but really,this is Kygo's work and Kurt(No offense meant) should be happy to get to sing it at such a big event. Kygo is probably one of the artists with most influence on Norwegian and Scandinavian music this year! Not really my genre, but i'll bow for you guys!
