It was February 2016. I was just beginning the travel phase of my life after working crazy hours for 5 years. I was in Halong Bay, Vietnam on an overnight cruise with 2 New Yorkers, 8 Brits, 1 Chilean, 1 Bavarian-German, a party animal Vietnamese crew and a boat filled with questionable alcohol. Kygo's remix of 'I see Fire' comes on and it was fitting. The 'Misty Mountains' were filled with a cool autumn-like fog. We traversed through the bay like the Black Pearl would the Carribean. I was sitting on the top deck of the boat and as the song transitions out, the now familiar tune of Firestone made its way in. I was floored - what a tune! I remember feeling so free from the worries of the world I had just left behind. The melody took me away and I had never been so happy. I was free from the chains of working 9 months of night work. The stresses and sleep deprivation were long gone. It was then I understood what freedom meant and I relished every moment on that boat. This song has followed me on many travels since. And everytime I hear the melody, it immediately transports me back to Halong Bay 2016. I can see myself there right now. I don't think those memories will ever escape me. From that moment sprung many creative endeavours, like photography and becoming an author. They were endeavours I never thought possible. To me, Firestone isn't just a song. It was a catalyst for the most creative chapters of my life since. I am so grateful for its impact. Thanks Kygo.

7-8 years ago, i was in ireland (which is my father's home country) having the best holiday of my life. i fell asleep in a bed in ireland and found myself in istanbul which is where we live and when i woke up the only thing i remembered was this song. finally after 7 years of looking for this song im so happy i can finally listen to this without searching.

Sometime it's as simple as sitting down with your room mate / loved one / family member or placing a call and talking about things you've done, and yet to do and making a plan to go do that thing that seemed so far off and setting everything up to make that happen. Check another item off your bucket list. This is how you forget the current misery by focusing on and preparing for the brighter future! Lose yourself in those plans and forget about what's happened today. What is past is past and can not be changed so why spend another moment thinking about what you can't change when you can have much more happiness thinking about and planning for what's to come which you can change....? !

It was February 2016. I was just beginning the travel phase of my life after working crazy hours for 5 years. I was in Halong Bay, Vietnam on an overnight cruise with 2 New Yorkers, 8 Brits, 1 Chilean, 1 Bavarian-German, a party animal Vietnamese crew and a boat filled with questionable alcohol. Kygo's remix of 'I see Fire' comes on and it was fitting. The 'Misty Mountains' were filled with a cool autumn-like fog. We traversed through the bay like the Black Pearl would the Carribean. I was sitting on the top deck of the boat and as the song transitions out, the now familiar tune of Firestone made its way in. I was floored - what a tune! I remember feeling so free from the worries of the world I had just left behind. The melody took me away and I had never been so happy. I was free from the chains of working 9 months of night work. The stresses and sleep deprivation were long gone. It was then I understood what freedom meant and I relished every moment on that boat. This song has followed me on many travels since. And everytime I hear the melody, it immediately transports me back to Halong Bay 2016. I can see myself there right now. I don't think those memories will ever escape me. From that moment sprung many creative endeavours, like photography and becoming an author. They were endeavours I never thought possible. To me, Firestone isn't just a song. It was a catalyst for the most creative chapters of my life since. I am so grateful for its impact.

It's funny how a particular song will imprint on us and plant us firmly in the ground. Life goes on around us and past us but for those few moments will stay with us forever. Who says music can't change people.

7-8 years ago, i was in ireland (which is my father's home country) having the best holiday of my life. i fell asleep in a bed in ireland and found myself in istanbul which is where we live and when i woke up the only thing i remembered was this song. finally after 7 years of looking for this song im so happy i can finally listen to this without searching.
i dont know where i was when it was released but it was one of those songs that you love but who's name you dont know, once I saw it on my youtube earlier this week i have jammed to it daily.

Be the positive surprise, the paid forward point of light that informs, inspires and crafts the wold sound you. Nomatter what you think you are going through, someone else has it worse. On the real, there is almost no situation that can not be improved if we but make the attempt to do such. Sometime it's as simple as sitting down with your room mate / loved one / family member or placing a call and talking about things you've done, and yet to do and making a plan to go do that thing that seemed so far off and setting everything up to make that happen. Check another item off your bucket list. This is how you forget the current misery by focusing on and preparing for the brighter future! Lose yourself in those plans and forget about what's happened today. What is past is past and can not be changed so why spend another moment thinking about what you can't change when you can have much more happiness thinking about and planning for what's to come which you can change....? !
