- Russain Kamikaze drone upgraded from Shaheed 136
This is the Russian Kamikaze drone from Iran.
There are slight differences and upgrades between the two.
The Iranian Shaheed 136 uses an Inertial Navigation System, which cannot be jammed by Radio Frequency Interference.
But it does have it's disadvantages, its real time position data is less reliable than that of the GPS.
Once released it is difficult to track or command. The Russians upgraded these drones with glonass a Russian alternative to GPS.
The advantage is it could Loiter around and hit its targets when glonass or GPS data is linked in real time.
But the disadvantages are it could be jammed by bombarding it with Radio Frequency Interference causing the Drone to crash.

It's not "effective" or "deadly". The Shahed is not technologically sophisticated by any means. The only reason these weapons mean anything is that they can be easily manufactured in numbers. Ukraine's GBAD has been able to adapt and shoot most of these flimsy toys down with mere small arms (avoiding usage of SAMS) because they're so slow, making them easy to engage.

I'm just pointing out the fact that the Shahed isn't special due to the fact it's not complex. As I said before, it's only selling point is that it's easily mass produced. It's something that someone with the right knowledge and tools could unironically fabricate in their garage. Furthermore, this UAV is literally built with mostly Western components (documented in depth by RUSI) that a civilian could get their hands on legally. If you knew anything about aerospace engineering, you wouldn't dare to compare a dumb GPS way point guided UAV to something as complex such as the Predator or even the Tomahawk as they use superior electronics/guidance systems.

Shaheds depending on version and on missions Maybe upgrareded with GPS/GNSS navigation, AI and swarm technology or Just Can be directed toward their targets by another drones i remember in 2020 when there was an anti shipping War between israel and Iran , revolution Guards used a Shahed 129 as a Controling Platforms for the Shahed 136s Attacking an israeli ship
the drone is already highly accurate with it's GPS/GLONASS system and inertia backup as is, and those things are both quite cheap. using things like Mohajer6 and Shahed-129s to direct them is literally the entire _purpose_ of the Mohajer6 and the entire reason russia bought them with the shahed-136s. infact i think that fact that not every drone HAS GPS/GLONASS is actually a secret strength, because it means that you trade accuracy of some in order to make it so jamming only effects some, much like how in medieval times knights would drape leathers or cloth over their plate armour to hide the rusted or thin plates from the enemy so they wouldn't know where the weak spots were.

If the GPS is jammed, the IMU can stay on course for miles before drifting too much. If the firmware is not taking that into account, it would be the fault of the software engineer.
If an open source flight controller like AruiPilot can do it for under $200, so can a drone used for military purposes.

@@ineverwinter it's basically the same thing except GPS is US military-run and GLONASS obviously is run via russia's military satelites, otherwise they are basically identical.
it doesn't have to be pin-point accurate, especially when it's not going to be jammed the whole time. by the time it's jammed it's already within a few miles of it's target. the less thought and effort is put into these drones, they cheaper they are to shit out.

I'm surprised you didn't suggest shooting them down with armed trainer aircraft like the A-29 Super Tucano.
first of all, its Sukhoi, second of all its not a SU37 as theres only one in the world currently (was a testbed for the su27M, sukhoi was testing out new TVC platforms), so you guys either meant a su30SM, su35 or a su27.

Actually the aircraft Sukhoi Su 37 was an experimental aircraft and never made it into production. Maybe you were talking about the Su 27? which is one of the production models of the Flanker series(Su27, su30, su35,etc...).

@@Aitelly but in your video you have either a Su-33 or an aircraft of the Su-27M line, which also includes the Su-37. However, Russia uses the Su-35S in Ukraine, which doesn't have canards and has completely different stabilizers

How can a country that has all the sanctions manage to develop it's arsenal with home grown tech, I need to learn the evolution of Iran Tech.
A lot of their tech is not homegrown All they did was take parts and pieces here and there from other countries and made it their own and some are reverse engineered captured weapons from Israel and the US and they bought a lot of weapons in the '90s after the Iran and Iraq war from third party countries like Believe it or not North Korea and Ukraine

Gepard radar will have a very very hard time detecting and locking a drone of this size made out of composites , if at all . Matter of the fact is Gepards have been shipped to Kiev, Kharkov and Odessa and have shown 0 effectiveness from preventing Garan-2 drones hitting their targets .
Well that's simply not true. You can find several videos of Gepard downing Shahed drones. I don't know their exact effectiveness, but it's not zero.

I said their radar will have a hard time detecting and locking drone size targets which is absolutely true and demonstrated by videos evidence where you can see the operators trying to lock the target by radar means which yield totaly incorrect speed information ( withouth witch firing solution can't be calculated ). The catch is that Gepards like other AA systems in it's class have optical means of detection/tracking and depending the variant of Gerard delivered to the Ukronazi regime it could even have IR optical means which will allow it to work during night conditions . But yeah their efficiency remains very low considering the number of Geran-2 raining over the Stephan Bandera worshipers .

I am surprised she didn't mention the more modern Russian Pantsir systems. They are uniquely capable of shooting it down. I guess Ukraine doesn't have any of those.

it is impossible to use TU22M to deliver these Drones. the flight speed of this aircraft is so high that the drones will be destroyed when ejected from the hull. besides, TU22M has a much more powerful arsenal
