Companies get sick of Apple that OS rollercoaster because Apple doesn't give third party companies access to the new OS until after the consumer release. That's a headache for developers outside of updating current products and developing new ones. Congrats Ave on the convert but it's Windows for life in this camp.
@@AveMcree My apologies that I initially spoke on old information about the OS access. This doesn't negate the fact of the continued problem when it comes to third party software and Apple. The OS update issue happens on every new OS release without fail.

The improvement to the processors cannot be ignored as the they will change the game all around for developers and end users alike. With that said, hopefully some of the old issues and routines will die with the Intel processor era.

i have 4600h and ableton 11 is not doing well either. heavy latency despite using audio interface
Man, You must be running a shit ton of tracks/channels. You should just upgrade your Ram. Most pro studio setups use atleast over 32 gb of ram. There's videos about Ram storage for music. Or get a pc tower with lots of ram.
I purchased a Mac air 2015 model for djing and less carrying around with Dj controller for club gigs. So far no issues.
Not a good purchase IMO. If you have plans to do other things multimedia wise.
Thnk you sir. Planning on buying the m1 macbook. What did you use to record the daw sound in obs?
Hey man, would you recommend the Air M1 for a beginner like me? I'm just planning to use GarageBand for the meantime since im just beginning. Thanks man.
I'm getting it for this, matched to a Focusrite 3rd gen. with M1 support. Should be fine.
@@mikesrandomchannel alright. Thanks!
would’ve been nice to see how this runs with all the production equipment plugged in and not just the daw. I have an audio interface with a mic and monitors plugged into it on my HP Envy x360 and it completely freezes my computer.
It still works good after one year. Only thing I hate is the lack of performance during streaming. Otherwise, it’s the second best laptop of 2021. 1st place the MBP 14”
I have the same PC and it fucking sucks. Tossing it out for the Air.
Companies get sick of Apple that OS rollercoaster because Apple doesn't give third party companies access to the new OS until after the consumer release. That's a headache for developers outside of updating current products and developing new ones. Congrats Ave on the convert but it's Windows for life in this camp.
False, Apple passes out easy to use dev kits and companies drag they ass.
@@AveMcree My apologies that I initially spoke on old information about the OS access. This doesn't negate the fact of the continued problem when it comes to third party software and Apple. The OS update issue happens on every new OS release without fail.
@@greggjohnson9149 Unlike all the other MacOS update. This bares an amazing translation software called Rosetta 2. Which translates x86 code (intel) to R.I.S.C. (Arms). Most software works on Big Sur & the M1. That’s totally different from the other MacOS updates.
The improvement to the processors cannot be ignored as the they will change the game all around for developers and end users alike. With that said, hopefully some of the old issues and routines will die with the Intel processor era.
I transferred everything over from my Mac desktop and my waves plugins are t compatible what can I do
I'm having problems with the MPC Live IIswitching into controller mode while in Akai MPC 2.0 on the M1 Mac Mini 16GB ram, 1TB ram.
I have the same issue and told Akai about it
awesome review. i have the same Macbook air and am working with FL studio. i experience a ton of digital clipping when i use MPC Beats in the channel rack and start recording. is there anything i need to adjust to prevent that from happening? would really appreciate your help. thanks!
Apple doesn’t like daws that are tight with PC
Thanks for saving me the extra cash....
@8:55 Stealing that BMX in San Andreas. its a beautiful day.
Best intro!
Sir whether mac book air m1 top end model is good for MUSIC production and video editing ?
Dope video Ave I’m upgrading to get the MacBook Pro M1 because my old MacBook died on me meaning the motherboard is done. I had that laptop for 8 years now so it’s time to get rid of it lol
Dam 8 yrs yep you got your moneys worth
@@rootedorganically4911 Yea Bro I Want To Upgrade Anyway To Try The New Update For Logic Pro X
No USB at all and spooky tendancies to use fingerprinting. Not the best start. Guessing I have to buy another thing to connect MIDI keyboards to it after spending an arm and a leg to get the thing. Then I have to figure out how to link my studio speakers to it and I haven’t the slightest clue how.
Yeah bro, the M1 chip is pretty dope for sure. Been thinking of picking this up as well lol.
I'm trying to wait for the M1X MBP 14.. Once that drops. I'm selling my Windows laptop 😂.. I'm getting my Apple watch tomorrow with the gold band.
@@AveMcree HAHAHAHA, man to be honest I dig the form factor of the air, and the fanless design. It would be more for productivity/admin than music production for me. The M1 mini got me spoiled, I don't want to hear ANY noise from my computers now LOL. You going all in huh hahaha, I feel you man, use what you like!
I think this video will turn out to be the decider for me. By the way does the M1 Air play nice with USB Hubs, esp powered ones... you know, all those devices we need to connect? Any particular brands? Thanks!
I use a USB c hub on my iPad pro, and it works perfectly. I even have a midi keyboard running through it via the USB hub, and it powers and records it with no issues. With that in mind, I would presume the the MacBook would work the same
@@dv8574 Great thanks. Could you share the name and model number of the hub.
I bought the same macbook air you did. It didn't come with a daw for music production. is the Logic Pro the best option to purchase? thanks for the input. I am looking to use it with my boss rc300 looper.
Yep
And Logic Pro comes with sounds
Is the M1 good for Cubase???
Hi I’m new to music production and just got MacBook pro 16gb ram but after seeing some other videos about m1 making me to get a window laptop with latest i7 . Should I switch or stick with it ?
I still use my M1 MBA every day. The only thing it doesn't shine in is video stream live or local recording via OBS. That's expected since it doesn't have fans to deal with overheating.
When it comes to stock sounds are you with logic ir FL?
Of course.... FL Stock Plugins have ability to create a Fully professional song❤️
Hi Ave. My apollo twin is a doorstop. My driver will not download. I have been trying for 2 days. unfortunately, I'm thinking of purchasing a new interface that is class compliant. I'm disabled. This is going to hurt!
Excellent
Seems dope! In the meantime, does FL Studio 20 run better nowadays? I’m looking to replace my MacBook Pro 2015 and I must admit: I’m a fool for FL Studio. Great video! #Traptendo
Yes, updated video coming soon
@@AveMcree That’s cool! I’m looking forward to it!
Hello! I have been thinking I should start making music but my problem is.. should I get windows laptop or Macbook? If so, which one? I want to use the newest Ableton version. What could work?
Either will work, want at least 16gb of memory without m1
Which usb-c hub you recommend for the 2021 iMacs?
What are the spec’s on your M1 Air
Hi! The MPC software work well on the M1?
Yes
What model, is it the 8GB of memory or 16GB?
8
Will 16gb ram be enuff
Hey would you consider reviewing some of the best phones for producers to use on the daily? Keep up the great work
love the intro this this video...lol
Hey, I opened up my project on my Mac that i was working on on my Windows laptop and for some reason it sounds really muffled on my Mac but on windows it sounds fine, do you know a fix to this?
Drivers
Hard choice
How do i stop the track from auto looping after i record.
Come on Bro! How are you going to compare this to a 9th gen I7? I've got the HP Spectre X360 14, this would be a more honest comparison. Grab yourself an 11th Gen Tiger Lake running in "Ultra Performance" mode! I'm throwing everything at this thing (64 buffer) and it barley moves the meter.
I’m like Mr. MAGOO 🤣 THATS why I bought a bigger flat screen instead
Wer can I get that trap beat u played
How long would you think the MacBook Air with 8 gb of ram and 512 gb of SSD would last making hip hop beats like juice wrld and playboy carty type beats with some plugins
bro that beat at 9:30 was lit, can you send me a full version?❤️🔥
Pretty mind blowing how well it does with things optimized for intel still, MS version of this sucks hard, the apps barely run while this is pretty impressive, but obviously for those early adopters you'll still do better if you already are a heavy logic user.
Chances are that audio latency will be even lower than you can ever get from an intel based device,
@@brianwredfern I can confirm this and high fidelity. I think AMD still might be top dog rn
@@AveMcree like these system on a chip machines tend to have real low audio latency. Even the humble raspberry pi4 which is under $100 I have been able to tune a custom built audio kernel to get it under 10s latency good enough to run professional drummer type of apps.
Logic gang
Did you ever try it with the mpc 2.8 software?
Software works but the controller mode doesn’t 😔
@@AveMcree shit, can’t have everything huh? Lol thanks for the response my g. I’ve learned a lot from you 🙏
Is this gd for djaying?
The only reason I've never bought a mac book is longevity they get outdated quick as you said earlier .
Yet I still see people rocking the MacBook Pro 2010, 2012, & 2015. lol
@@AveMcree I seriously can't justify buying a laptop that old bro the prices is still ridiculous too
I produce in ableton 10 with a macbook pro mid 2010, still works like a charm. Needs updates like ssd and extra ram, new battery and such though
Mean while I’m still producing on my 2013 MacBook Pro lol
@@AveMcree MacBook 2012 pro still going strong after update to 16g Ram. That’s 2000€ spent for something that lasted almost 10 years. I have had to replace hardware interfaces that are not supported anymore
such amazing devices, I have a pair, replacing 3 i7's and smoking each. won't be long till every piece of software is ported. also people shouldn't listen to the 'apple brining out new things have problems', sure there will be compromises made but the m1 is just an iPad in a different form factor and OS...they been leading the market in those devices since the beginning so.....
So r u saying they are worth it for music production
@@isaacstokes7239 yes. Id recommend searching any plugins etc you use to make sure you dont find an edge case thought. I run a fleet of m1's for music and complex software projects, I dont have any blockers anymore due to the new arch.
ableton and roland cloud by any chance? still happy with it or does it get smoking hot and throttle?@@delprofundo
thank you for all the knowledge. my brother and I just finished our first sample pack. can u tell me the best way to go about doing royalty splits for a sample pack? and should we registe the sample pack with a P.R.O. like BMI? is that even possible. I watched a ton of your videos but I didn't see this info there. Thanks again.💯👏
