These are way better cost effective now than using the cans. Here in southern Cali the gun itself is about $55 and the bags are less than $10. Meanwhile the spray can guns are still around $15 give or take and the big ones are $30. They still work pretty good but even when you clear the nozzle to reuse next time they still get clogged or dried up which is annoying Pair this with Milwaukee or dewalt battery compressor for patch works and it saves so much time
The nozzle is $50 at my local HD. I've made plenty of patches with those silly aerosol cans. Totally hit or miss. I have to try one of these. Brilliant idea for small patch jobs.
I actually picked one of these up for a fairly medium sized job - a load bearing wall demo which featured about a 16' span of an LVL beam which needed finishing. Applied gypsom and knocked out the prep work, grabbed one of these and a few pouches of the pre-mixed texture and went to town. The finished result was fantastic and the systems is very versatile once you get the hang of it. Much easier than a hopper, unless you're spray texturing a big project. Great product!

@@davehart817 I wouldn’t venture a guess as far as square footage, but I would say plan to purchase more than you might immediately think. I have used this numerous times for small projects applying a medium to heavy orange peel texture, and under that heavy application, one bag doesn’t last long. I’m not aware of refilling the bags, though I’m sure it is possible. But there’s some users who’ve posted vids on RUclips of mixing texture and filling ziplock type bags and tightly tying those to the gun, so it’s definitely possible…

I love the idea of refillable bags rather than all the waste of little bags. You may still have enough of a market share with your idea if you can get the patent to work. Also they are tough t find in Canada so maybe focus on a smaller market?
it can barely cover a 3'by 3' patch and its expensive almost 10 bucks I rather buy a whole TNT mud box for the same price which will give me 20 times that bag. I bought it and not happy!!!!!!!

Shake the can well, soak in hot water for 3-5 min shake again then test spray

Lowered to 30 psi and light squeeze and some will go to the wall while some comes out from the nozel

how long do you leave it set on the knockdown? Does this start to dry really fast? What if you are doing a slightly bigger area, ??

Its a great gun. Fill a latex glove with your mud of choice and zip tie it to the gun. Does the same thing.
