    A boppy is a MUST if you are breastfeeding. I had two and loved, LOVED them. Also, I had a wipe warmer with all three of my babies and would highly recommend it to everyone. It made night time changes so much easier. The warm wipes would barely make them stir, or it would calm them if they were crying. Definitely one of my better purchases!

    I don't know how I would've survived without the Boppy! 😭 All breastfeeding moms really should get one.

    One thing I disagree on and that's the Boppy. I breastfed both of my kids for a year and the Boppy was a back saver! I actually bought two so I'd always have one with me. It was an essential baby item for me.

    • @TheKrazyCouponLady
      @TheKrazyCouponLady  9 лет назад

      Valerie Hilshorst I wondered if we'd get some debate over the 'skip' items. Heather and I both had Boppys and tended to use throw pillows just as often. Appreciate the feedback! It's good for new moms to hear the debate! :)

      The boppy is great for tummy time and for a little extra support when they are learning to sit up and easier on the spine and hips than a bumbo. The fact that it's multi functional makes it a great investment, in my opinion.

      The Krazy Coupon Lady I agree! I think must have baby items for some are the same ones that sit in the corner for others. :)

      I don't think you need to skip the boppy, just do not spend a lot of money on one, because I breastfeed my LO's (all 3) and I only used my boppy the first couple months while healing from a c-section. But definitely would try to borrow one or check if once upon a child has one,

    • @itsjustacupcake
      @itsjustacupcake 9 лет назад +2

      I agree, the boppy was a must have for me. Also a bassinet, I just kept it next to my bed and after nursing I put my babies in it to sleep....

    You guys always give best advice!!! One thing to mention to new to be parent's is take advantage of baby registry @ Target, BabiesRUs and other national retailer's. By registering you'll receive a gift pack that includes sample's, high value coupon's and often gift card's valuing up to $20 just for registering with them. This was one of my favorite $ savers and really helped us out as a young new family..

      Zandria Venable Thanks, Zandria! You're definitely right! In addition to the completion discounts (15%), there are other perks you'll get for registering. Thanks for mentioning it!

    I recently discovered The Krazy Coupon Lady and you ladies are amazing!
    The only thing I would disagree on respectfully is the Boppy. It is great for breastfeeding and I used it religiously with both of my kids.
    Also, I know a lot of people don't think the wipe warmer is necessary, but it was great for the cold east coast winters for my son (more so than my daughter). For anyone who's dealt with a baby boy, its cause he'd "shower" us with love during his first 6 months and a cold wipe certainly didn't help.

    • @nateandjoanie
      @nateandjoanie 9 лет назад +1

      Eve Cheng Lol! "showered" with love! :)

    I breastfeed and cloth diaper which has saved me a ton. I understand that's not an option for everyone though. But I used my boppy, bathtub and changing table a ton. My kids never liked being swaddled and those blankets are expensive and never once used a swing. Also the jungle gym was only used for maybe a couple of months and only has one use so I wouldn't say it's a necessity by any means! It just depends on the baby and the mother. My best advice: collect your gift cards and wait to buy those things until after baby is born to see what works best for you and that will save you the most money and put your money to the best use. But to say those things are a waste and the others are necessary is a pretty bold statement and should be taken with a grain of salt, no offense. Other than that, I love the tips and this channel!

      Totally agree, we've bought a second hand Ikea Stuva changing table with drawers that converts to a desk later on. Changing her on a mat on the floor or short coffee table was hurting our backs. All of the great quality second hand Little Lamb nappies from eBay are saving us lots, as well as being breathable and more kind to their skin. The nursing pillow has really helped, we bought a V shaped pillow as well as the C shaped kind and find the V shaped one much easier. Other than consumables (eg. nappy cream, lanolin) or 'personal' replacement parts (eg. breast pump shield) there is absolutely no point buying new... baby stuff gets so little use before they've outgrown it, so you can find 'as new' items for most things on eBay for *at least* 50% discount over retail prices. We even made a calculator for working out how much to spend to make it easy for ourselves.

    Not sure I much agree with the items to skip you listed. We used a wipes warmer, a diaper genie, a boppy, a bassinet, and a bathtub. The bassinet was what our baby slept in next to our bed for months, I consider that an essential! We used a baby tub until he was big enough for a normal tub. My son is 3 and we still use the wipes warmer and diaper genie (he always winces every time we have to use cold wipes). And I considered a boppy (or a similar concept) an essential for breastfeeding!

    I know this was entirely sponsored by target so it wasn't mentioned, but secondhand stuff can save you a ton of money. If you want an expensive don't-really-need-it, try garage sales. They're like treasure troves of ultra-cheap kid stuff. I saw two wipes warmers yesterday for a few bucks each. You see diaper genies and change tables and all sorts of stuff too. Imagine spending $30 on a high-end stroller instead of $300. That would definitely keep money in your wallet even on a splurge item.
    Plus they're a great place to buy clothes for your growing baby, if you get a whole bag of stuff for $5 you won't feel bad when the kid wears it once before outgrowing it.

    • @TheKrazyCouponLady
      @TheKrazyCouponLady  9 лет назад +3

      CL B Your comment got caught in the Spam filter, but I wanted to publish and respond just to say that our video is in no way sponsored by Target. You're not the first one to guess that we've sold out to the corporate giant. (and it's tempting, trust me!) But, the truth is we actively avoid those sorts of sponsorships because they don't let us be objective consumer advocates.

    • @prettyinpunk666

      The Krazy Coupon Lady I didn't mean it in a negative way, I promise! Maybe a better suited word would be partnership? I have to assume to film extensively like this without interruption in their stores you'd have to have an agreement with them. I hope they're sending something your way in appreciation, you're definitely helping showcase their best points and policies.
      Regardless, I do very much enjoy how you put these videos together. They are objective while being informative and highlighting the perks of shopping at target while not being pushy or advertising-y.

      CL B Thanks for clarifying. Sorry if I was overly defensive! :) We do obtain permission to film in stores, but we shoot in the wee hours of the morning so as not to disturb customers. Takes a lot of caffeine. . .

    I loved the "how much diapers should cost" However keep an eye on sales. Last week I was able to stock up at Target huggies for $0.08/diaper. Stack everything you can is the best advice these wonderful ladies ever gave. Manufacturer Coupon, Target Coupon, Cartwheel, Red Card and dont forget Catalinas. Catalina will actually send you the coupon if your target did not print it at the register.

    So fun random tip - when you register at target for a baby registry, you get a completion coupon. You also get other coupons regularly mailed to you, good ones - like 10% off a certain stroller, or 15% off a pack n play. You can edit your registry and stack those coupons. So my friends got me the pack n play I registered for, and I returned it with a gift receipt, I had put the one I had received a coupon for (a nicer one at a higher price point) on my registry, which also happened to be on sale, stacked the sale, 20% off coupon, and registry reward, and got a gift card back that covered some other baby things we needed but didn't get at our shower. Did the same thing with a stroller. It was *awesome*

    • @TheLadyWeaver
      @TheLadyWeaver 8 лет назад +1

      +Reality nope! I asked the store manager if I could and she though it was clever and awesome. she also knew we shopped there weekly

    • @TheLadyWeaver
      @TheLadyWeaver 8 лет назад +1

      Also I don't understand how it's any of those things. They paid full price for the items, I returned them and re purchased with a coupon. The return was store credit, so I didn't get a cash refund or anything.

    I have a prime membership and must compared Luv's diapers on Amazon with the mom program, without a sale Walmart is still cheaper. I am not a lover of Walmart so this breaks my heart to say this. :( So disappointed in Amazon. Most folks don't do the math and just trust Amazon will be cheaper. If you factor in the price for membership it is way higher.

    I love thekrazycouponlady website!! I found the cheapest I've been able to get diapers is at RITEAID! Thanks to their plenti points program promotions I'm getting anywhere from 60% to 90% off on my diapers! I haven't spent more than 13 cents per diaper so far☺️

      +Natabulous lol me too! I cant have kids but at any given time i have tons of friends with young children! I find that stockpiling diapers is a great "plan ahead" gift for baby showers and i always have diapers and wipes for when my friends come over :) Plus i find that getting free diapers is relatively easy and can actually be a money maker depending on where you shop and rolling points. Not to mention there is always a huge need in my area (honestly probably any area) for baby stuff donations at churches and foodbanks :)

      Misty Reece I love how a person can make a comment and not even be slandering another person or not. BUT.. just because they have there OWN views and decide not to sub to SINFUL Channels. This is exactly why the world is what it is today, FULL OF HATE and DISGUST just because someone's views are different from your own. Its like me bashing you for wearing makeup or your religion or your sexual preference. I don't care what anyone else does but it doesn't mean I am going to watch them do it. Because that's EXACTLY what you are doing on here is bashing someone's religion! The BIBLE says to distance yourself from SIN. So for ME not YOU or others it may be different but for ME. I will not sub to someone who is GAY or LESBIAN or ANY PERSON on youtube PERIOD if there showing SIN to be FINE. PDA of GAYS & LESBIANS in my christian beliefs is WRONG its a SIN and I will distance myself from it. But either way if this is they kind of people that this channel is filled with is HATEFULNESS like yourself then I don't want to be apart of it.
      P.S.
      The Bible says Adam & Eve not... Adam & Steve.. I suggest your find GOD soon or your on a one way road otherwise.
