No, I've literally had that "I'll eat my hat" scene living in my head rent free for YEARS but couldn't remember what show it was omg
Such a inspirational scene
"I'm a man of my word."
"I believe you. I have to go now."
"You know what, imma eat the hat."
Truly iconic
It basically turns into the warden's whole character; from that scene forward for the rest of the series, any screentime he gets is punctuated by a deep craving to eat his hat to the point of insistence. I love how such a minor character gets just as much goofy characterization as any other major character in the show.

Word Girl and the villains give me Megamind/Metro Man vibes. They did it more fun since Metro Man knew Megamind wasn't really going to do anything to the city.
Omg that is such a good comparison
Also cause it’s usually depicted that Wordgirl could actually be taken down by her villains if they got serious, just as she can take them down if she gets serious. So it’s a lot more of an equal dynamic than Metroman and Megamind, whose completely one sided, even being pointed out by the citizens.
yup
I think the weirdest "The Narrator can be heard by the people in the show" is when Wordgirl asks him to tell her where The Butcher is hiding, and he tells her no, then as he goes to set up the next scene with The Butcher, Wordgirl literally pushes back the wipe so she can get a look at where The Butcher is hiding.
Yeah, he was *mad* when she pulled that stunt.

I love how "the narrator must work for PBS" not because that's how employment works, but because otherwise the lore wouldn't make sense.
The way they handle her relationship with people and the city she's saving, is less of a Superman kind of vibe and more of a spider-man vibe because people don't trust her and because she gets in trouble with her family and friends and that's basically Peter Parker Spider-Man
THAT IS SUCH A GOOD COMPARISON!!! Spider-Man gave me that same frustrated feeling where I (and probably the rest of the viewers) just kept screaming YOU DONT UNDERSTAND! HE HAS A JOB TO DO!!!!!!
@@AthenaPOfficial yep.
i now understand where my love for spiderman comes from 😭😭
That's not strictly true. Everyone in the city is always on her side unless they are antagonists or the plot of the episode is about how she's framed and in those episodes everyone is always surprised that Wordgirl would so such a thing.
@@Obi-Wan_Kenobi is so irritatingly true, I'd say she gives vibes from both Superman and Spider-Man; believe me, Athena, I had that same frustrated feeling back when I watched this show.

It doesn't excuse the things he's done but it does certainly explain them.
Nah, everyone forgives him every time he does something. They give him chance after chance. They're polite to him. They're willing to be friends with him. Just because his mother disciplines him when he inflicts thousands of dollars of property damage doesn't mean his mistreated or ignored. His mother actually treats him really well. @@thallium.81 Honestly if he wasn't so inteligently gifted I'm pretty sure his mom would just snap and throw him in a juvenile detention center lmao

Fun fact, in the Hebrew dub of the series, Dr. Two brains is voiced by Gilad kletter, who also voices Dr. Heinz Doofenshmitz. Gilad is also the Hebrew voice actor of Squidward. It's also ironic due to Squidward having a Dr. Themed supervillain persona named Dr. Negative.

yeah and wasn't there an episode where he trapped her in some kind of robot suit and forced her to do romantic things for him or am I remembering that wrong regardless given his ego and his tendency to go on a rampage when mad it is frighteningly easy to picture a universe where he becomes an incel because word girl won't date him
@@pufferfancyfish He made a robot that looked identical to Wordgirl and, after it refused to go on a date with him (different sort of pain from being told off by your crush), sent it on a destructive rampage of the city to ruin the real hero's reputation in order to blackmail her into a date. This such an old comment but Maya and Miguel was one of my favorite shows as a kid!
Reasons why Dr. Two-Brains is the man of my dreams:
1. Is tall and has a good figure
2. Has white, bushy hair
3. Is Bi/Pan, meaning he has taste and supports pride
4. Is a great brother/uncle figure to Wordgirl and nice, disciplinary father figure to his two henchmen, Charlie and Unnamed Henchman
5. Is both analytically intelligent and artistically intelligent. He has a PhD and MFA. He is both a gifted scientist and a charming performer as seen in the episodes with the barbershop quartet contest and disco dance-off
6. Is very eloquent with words and even wrote an inspirational book
7. Has good taste in food and can prepare things like grilled cheese, fruit smoothies, and coffee cake, as seen in the pilot series.
8. Is pretty sanitary when Squeaky isn’t taking advantage of him (mice are actually very hygienic creatures when healthy)
9. Has fine fashion senses and pretty much dresses like I do
10. Probably gives wonderful hugs
Problems:
1. Is scared of cats
2. Nearly tried to kill WordGirl, a 10 year-old, multiple times (Tobey had to stop him in the Mousezilla episode
3. Has little control and discipline over his appetite, as seen in the episode with the cheese magnet and apple farm
4. Is rude to his henchmen, as well as other people on occasion
5. Only uses his wisdom and intelligence to help himself rather than others
6. Likes bragging
7. Worked with and trusted Mr. Big once, who is basically cartoon Donald Trump
8. Likes cheating
9. Would probably be in jail too much
10. Is literally Satan when Squeaky takes full control over his mind.
DR. TWO-BRAINS IS BI/PAN? YAAAAAAAAAAAA
@@valh889 He's not, people are just jumping to far reaching conclusions based on a few meaningless lines. The video mentions him saying "chucky baby" but he said it the way a mob boss says it. By that logic every member of the Mafia is Bi/Pan.
Wait he's bi/pan? He's one of my favorite characters
so basically Dr. Jekyll / Mr. Hyde but with cheese?
i did not expect the list to be THAT long when I clicked see more
Whether or not this is the actual intention, I love the idea of this huge joke where despite her superpowers having absolutely nothing to do with vocabulary, Becky constructed her entire superhero persona around the fact that she's a smarmy know it all.
I literally never thought of it that way. I just interpreted it (as a kid) as "one of her powers is an internet-like superdictionary in her head" (the internet was pretty new to me at the time, being sheltered from it until I was about 11, so anything with lots of information was just "the internet of ___" to me)
@@SnoFitzroy That IS one of her powers. When exposed to the obligatory kryptonite knockoff, she can't define anything. She also reads through dictionaries though, so maybe it functions more like linguistics based super memory instead of just instinctive knowledge.
Adult word girl will have learned every language on earth.
@@firebrand723 According to the website, she can already read most hieroglyphs.
Unless her ability is to be a fast learner?
Invisi-Bill is my favorite. His dynamic is really interesting, since you'd normally expect someone with invisibility powers to be all angsty or timid, but he's the opposite, being very optimistic and loud. He's fucking adorable.❤️
It's weird seeing someone who basically has the same family situation as Pasifica Northwest with Mable's voice.
Idk, Violet has also had moments of kindness and just being adorable, and in her defense, she had her own stint as a superhero where she told Becky her identity very quickly because she's her best friend, while Becky clammed up on her identity until the end of series where it was revealed by accident, not to mention her own cat got a reveal moment long before that, also she's 10
I think the reason she's frustrates me is because of how often Becky (also only 10) has to clean up for Violet and how quick Violet was to discard her. It was clearly coming from a place of immaturity/not putting yourself in the other person's shoes and not malice... I just felt so bad for Becky. I see where you're coming from and I understand why people like her I just personally can't
I don’t like either Violet or Scoops. They are both poor friends for Becky, and can be even more frustrating than the villains. The episode where Becky had to lose the vocab bee because Scoops was annoyingly skeptical over her trying to hide her identity made me so mad (all the Butcher wanted to do in that episode was make chili and entertain his hippo). I know he’s still a kid, but Scoops seems to care more about his dreams of being a journalist than his friends’ safety.
@@Antifearn I don' t know, later on, after he does find out, Scoops is shown being more respectful with her identity even sticking his neck out for her when Rose intends on exposing her, which he does in a very mature manner of explaining how it would affect Becky and making Rose think about what the right thing would be, honestly, I think it'd be a bit much to expect a bunch of ten year old kids to have such a perfect friendship that doesn't have any weak points or rough patches, the fact that they can recover from said weak points or rough patches can be a sign of how much they care, even if it isn't, I still think "terrible" may be an overstatement.
@@arthurwatson2555 Oh nice. I haven’t seen that episode yet. I guess I need to keep watching the series and Scoops will grow on me.
Yeah like I agree with Violet feeling upset by Becky being more “achieved” or whatever but she does wanna be friends with Becky. Idk it’s just- when your friends are slowly spending less and less time with you and not saying why it’s hard. And Becky doesn’t really hang out with anyone else routinely.
“All kids shows should aim to be able to keep adults entertained.” Is a great rule kids writers should live by. For starters, parents will have to deal with the show just as much as the child, so making it bearable for them should be a must. Secondly, children aren’t stupid. They deserve witty writing even if some of it goes over their head. We need to stop treating kids like they’re dumb tiny humans who just like bright colours and shapes, because even at aged 3-4, that not true. They can understand jokes and basic speaking, which means they deserve witty, good writing :).
honestly this is exactly why Bluey got so popular. more pieces of media aimed at a younger audience should take this approach!
If the parents are also entertained (to some degree or another), it means they gave a crap about doing a good job.
Yes! Some of my favorite shows as a kid were the ones that had cohesive stories and actually fun humor (Word Girl, Odd Squad, Gravity Falls, and the Amazing World of Gumball to name a few)
@@Lil_Anxiety_Beanodd squad is actually the best tho
People always say the new generation is stupid but those people grew up with amazing shows yet allow their children to watch garbage? You wonder why children imitate the trash you make for them to watch?
Dr. Twobrains could have been an unmatched hero. He was always turning different things into cheese... all he had to do was make a "trash into cheese" ray and he could have ended world hunger AND solved most of the world's pollution issues in one blow!
I don't think that's a good idea cheese can rot if left out too long and a lot of people especially older people can't handle dairy products well.

I imagine that if Dr. Two Brain didn't have the mouse brain, he would have been a great ally to word girl and probably would have helped her significantly. He would have been the hero role model that she otherwise doesn't really have.
He'd be like a second dad
He was literally one of her closest friends, he taught her how to be a hero in the first place. The day he became Two-Brains was a dark one.
Are we not gonna talk about wordgirls grandfather? I mean he’s the only person who knew she was wordgirl from the beginning and held on to the secret.
I guess there's just not much to elaborate on.
If I had a nickel for every time, a female character is considered bad because their parents are the ones who manipulate them into being someone else, I'd have three nickels. Which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened three times.
Victoria Best from Wordgirl
Pacifica Northwest from Gravity Falls
Amity Blight from The Owl House
Chuck is so underrated. I love the episode where wordgirl disappears for a while, then comes back to see that chuck, of all people, has taken over the city. INCLUDING EVERY OTHER VILLAIN
The hints in Violet were reeallly subtle to why she reacted that way in the finale. I think she is somewhat annoying honestly, but the reason she acts that way in the finale is a lot more deeper which you can actually see throughout the show.
Becky sometimes has to leave Violet to go fight crime as WordGirl, so she always comes up with an excuse. Violet is actually HESITANT, with usually something like an "Oh, ok." She's always a tad disheartened whenever Becky has to leave, and then she probably figured out why she ACTUALLY had to leave her in the finale.
Also, the episode where Violet thought she was a superhero, she immediately told Becky instead of anybody else. Becky was the only person she told the secret to, and she trusted her specifically for something that big. The parallels from that episode to the finale are pretty noticeable honestly.
And I think it's because Violet already knew Becky was Wordgirl when she first took the photos, and then gave her a chance to explain herself. After she repeatedly denied over and over again that she was, I guess that's why she guessed that they never were really friends to begin with. In all honestly, I probably would react the same way. But at the same time, I understand how important Becky's job is and how important it is to keep it a secret, so I felt extremely bad for her too.
The difference between Violet and Scoops finding out is that Scoops found out spontaneously, with Becky saving him in the process. Becky explained to him properly on WHY she had to keep it a secret, and they had not too many problems. VIOLET, on the other hand, had to find out by herself and NOT with Becky revealing it TO her. While Becky was forced to tell the immediate truth with Scoops, she repeatedly lied to Violet. Plus, Becky is closer to Violet than Scoops.
Oh well, I totally do understand why Violet is somewhat of a dislikable character, but she has some positive traits too.
Underrated comment
Yeah and I respect your opinion....
But as Athena had said any time I see her I become violet with an N
I become vioLENT
this is pretty valid but her negative traits outshine any speck of positivity from her for me
What I love the most is how WordGirl is technically friends with the villains. Sure, they sometimes do try to destroy when the chance strikes, but more often than not they have casual conversations and even hang out as though they're friends. Some more so than others of course. The biggest example is of course near the end of the Miss Power movie. The villains are cheering for WordGirl when she gains the upper hand, and later express gratitude that she's their arch nemesis. It's very sweet.
So we all know Boxlietener (I have no clue how I spell his name) is still in there, I came up with a theory, he can't stop himself from being a villain bc of Squeaky, so I think that he purposely makes his plans flawed in order to stop any real harm from happening, just a thought.
“Who is the first person to make a baby with a sandwich on this show” is a sentence I *never* thought I would ever hear

It's a running joke thru-out the series that the mayor says stupid stuff and promises to eat his hat if said "impossible" event happens. After a certain point, he just starts wearing edible hats whenever interacting with Word Girl.
Can we talk about the waste of potential that is Kid Math. He definitely deserved more appearances in the show
Fun Fact: Jack Ferraiolo (head writer and voice of The Butcher) moved on to co-produce Amphibia. Hey, if you thought Becky and Violet were toxic enough by mistake, try to imagine them writing toxic friendships ON PURPOSE. XD

Dr. Two-Brains even though he steals cheese is still a villain that you wouldn’t want to mess with. When Squeaky took full control in the episode “Mouse-Brain Takeover” he became Dr. Squeaky-Brains who was more unstable and evil to the point where he almost turned Wordgirl into goop basically killing her. His henchmen didn’t like the new change since Dr. Squeaky-Brains was harsh only referring to them as humans not henchmen and wouldn’t even talk to them normally only “NOT YOUR CHEESE! MY CHEESE! GET YOUR OWN CHEESE HUMANS.” Also, in the episode “Of Two-Minds” Dr. Two-Brains finds an asteroid made out of cheese a “cheeseteroid” if you will with his telescope decides to fuse his cheeseseizer device with it to draw in the cheeseteroid to the city not having the thought to reverse it considering that it would take half the city out. Wordgirl even says to him what’s it gonna be the cheeseteroid or the city, Two-Brains brushes it off not caring saying there will always be other cities with buildings. In a similar episode “Hello New Years, Goodbye Moon” he turns the moon into cheese doing the same thing of extracting it down to earth but this times it’s a full on planet sized star coming down. Dr. Two-Brains takes “stealing and pillaging cheese” to a whole new level with
his morals being thrown of the window the man is willing to commit murder of a child and genocide to please his sociopathic mouse-brain in the name of “cheese” of all things instead of money or power. Not to mention that his superior intellect is fascinating yet scary and daunting in the episode “Timeout with Two-Brains” he built an invention called the “Time-Stopping Ray” which was untested and he used it to freeze the fabric of time of the people on earth including the Narrator himself he froze a literal god who tells the story from the script even he was caught in the blast while Two-Brains and his henchmen were safe in a protective sphere so that he can eat his cheese without worrying about the expiration date which is just insane. In the end I do feel like he deserves to be the number one villain just for how complicated and crazy his evil schemes reaching at apocalyptic level. Overall, I’m honestly so happy that Wordgirl is getting the recognition it deserves. This was a wonderful analysis of the show and it’s world-building characters you knocked it outta the park!

Watching this made me tear up a bit. My sister and I used to watch the PBS kids shows all the time growing up, and since she passed earlier this year, those old memories get me emotional. But seeing you so enthusiastic about the show put a smile on my face, cause she would’ve had that same energy. You remind me a lot of her, she would’ve loved your videos.
I hope you find your peace eventually I know first hand what you’re talking about
Ms. Power and WordGirl is literally Invincible but kid friendly 💀
Especially the train scene
Oh god…
I... I hate that you are right. Never seen Invisible fully but I've seen some key clips and yea. The train scene feels like a direct parallel to that one scene everyone makes memes about from Invisible.
Ms Power walked so Omniman can RUN /j
(Pulls out dictionary)
LOOK WHAT THEY NEED TO MIMICK A FRACTION OF OUR POWER!!!
Yeah, if Word girl had a higher rating Miss Power would be even more brutal because she would be using much more harsher words to demoralize word girl. The words would have the same impact as that "Think" scene in Invincible
My favorite part of lady redundant woman is you're made to think she's a sympathetic character working under the worst guy who is unfit to be the copy store manager, which is all lady redundant woman initially wants is to be the copy store manager, but as it turns out the manager is the nicest guy ever! He checks in on his employees he gives breaks, he asks for input on if his employees are ok with this or covering that shift and she just never speaks up and hates him behind his back! 😂
I KNOW. I love how he's like- "Hey! I'll get you this kinda donut for lunch bc I know you asked for it the last time! You deserve it!" and then she dramatically hunches over and squints and the screen goes all dark and she's like- "dAAve"
Every single time she's arrested and let out, Dave's just like, "Welcome back, Beatrice! Saved you your old job!" He was way too nice.
Oh yeah I remember that dudes too nice
He's definitely too nice; any other manager would have the sense to fire Beatrice.
Dave’s awesome
Narrator is a scp, no you can’t convince me otherwise 😮😂 20:31
Chuck the evil sandwich making guy's unspoken lore is actually mentioned in the show! Ms Power points out and questions why Chuck's head is a sandwich and Wordgirl basically says "Ooh...we don't talk about Chuck's head". To be honest, i like how Becky/Wordgirl is somewhat implied to respect her enemies' boundaries and doesn't ask about how they became the way they currently are, since its very likely a sensitive topic for them.
You should talk more about Scoops. He is the first friend of Becky's to accidentally learn her secret identity, and she does have a crush on him. And also he is a reporter, which, of course, makes him one of the many people who she would have most likely to never tell about her secret life as Word Girl to at all.
21:25 “Toby she’s white, has blonde hair and a Hey Arnold ass head!”🤣
I feel like watching WordGirl as a kid helped me pass the SATs as an adult.
I would like to add that this show is loaded in terms of guest stars. Chris Parnell, Tom Kenny, Fred Stoller, Patton Oswalt, Jeffery Tambor, H John Benjamin, John C McGinley, Kirsten Schaal, Kevin McDonald, Ned Bellamy, Jim Gaffigan, Tim Conway, Nick Kroll, Ed Asner, Jane Lynch, Elliot Gould, Judy Greer, Andy Dick, Al Roker, Alfred Molina, Jack Mcbrayer, and Stephen Root all are on the show at one point or another. A lot of them as recurring characters.
can't believe you didn't mention the fact that becky has FULL ACCESS to the crashed spaceship when talking about how she doesn't want to go back to lexicon. she truly is the Most disinterested she could be. admittedly i haven't watched the entire show (i used to watch it as a kid whenever i could catch it & have no idea which episodes i have and haven't seen) but i always loved it, as a kid who read 24/7. i felt proud of myself for knowing all the words that got defined by the narrator.
The ship is grounded. It was all Huggy could do to even get it hovering when some villains went looking for it.
On the topic of Victoria and her messed up family, there's also her brother who snapped and had a complete breakdown over not being "the best". They stopped him after he tried to steal Wordgirl's powers and wrapped it up like any other villain defeat, but I mostly just felt bad. At first the bro acted like he didn't care about the whole "being the best" thing the way his sister does, but it's obvious neither of these kids can mentally handle the idea of someone else out-doing them at something.
I forgot all about this until I randomly rewatched that episode when it was on tv. The parents are really messing those kids up by making them compete with each other and everyone else like that

God I really miss World girl. Remember that one episode when she hijacked a TV show telling the villains if they commit a crime she literally showed how she just folded a metal line I assume. Literally showing she’s not messing around.
theyre BOTH horrible friends to each other. like becky misses 90% of the meetings she makes with violet. and i know obv theres a reason but from literally anyone else's perspective nobody's going to realize its bc becky's actually wordgirl saving the town
Becky still has an excuse, especially when she literally can't catch a break from villains and must protect the well-being of thousands of people, even if it means being at the risk of losing a friend. That's the price a hero must sometimes pay
Word Girl is one of the best American magical girls. I am dead serious. Very fun video!
@Cassi Lyris
Well! How would you rank with the other American magical girls: Mary Marvel-Sergeant Thunder (DC), Raven (DC), Magik (Marvel), Polaris (Marvel), etc?.
Scarlet Witch and Zatanna don’t count since they’re magical women.
@@whathell6t I love them! Raven has been one of my favorites since I was little (we're talking mid 80's). It's been fun seeing their different incarnations over the years! Zatanna and Scarlet Witch totally count! It's the fate of all magical girls to become magical women. (90's Scarlet Witch + Nomorita were my jam!) I even grew up with the OG Sabrina the Teenage Witch comics and cartoons. I loved it when she made a comeback in the 90's. I'm much less fond of the newer ultra grimdark Sabrina the Teenage Satanist though...
Heck, I even loved the ultra pinked up 90's shows like Princess Starla and the Jewel Riders, and Tenko and the Guardians of Magic.
My kids grew up with Word Girl and it was great. She was a legitimately good example. Being a space magical girl was just a bonus. 😂🥰 I bought a boxset of it so one day I can (and will!) share it with my grandkids, whenever they should happen. 🥰 Thank you for asking! What is it with Tom Kenny who constantly has to play villains who literally just scholar people either a scientist or like an architect who lost their mind and are really just nice guys and why does his voice fit that character is so well
I LOVED this show... How did I not know this had 8 seasons?
Okay word girl has stood in my mind as having the BEST joke I’ve ever seen in a kids show. It’s stuck with me since I was a young child. Here it is:
After some long episode and battle where Becky fights to get a copy of this book she wants, she ends up succeeding. The last scene of the episode is her sitting down in her room with the monkey to read it and she just… reads it in 2 seconds. The monkey is annoyed so she gives him the book and leaves and he just puts on a pair of reading glasses and starts reading at a normal pace.
Idk why but this was the funniest thing to me as a kid and I still think it’s hilarious in retrospect LOL. They spend so long fighting a villain to get this book and they finally make it home and Becky just… flies through it. And the monkey is like “we fought for THIS TWO SECOND MOMENT?!”
My favorite was wordgirl just breaking the 4th wall and peeking where the butcher was while the narrator trying to change scenes XD
I love how in depth you got into this show. Also wow this show had 8 seasons?!?! dang!
And I feel like they still had more story to tell!! Power to them! Very fun show
8 season, 284 episodes and no two episodes feel the same
@@AthenaPOfficial It's very possible they did. If I'm not mistaken, the reason the show was even cancelled in the first place is not because of ratings or anything like that, but because Scholastic, who purchased animation studio that made WordGirl, Soup2Nuts, had decided to close the studio. It honestly would not surprise me if WordGirl would've had more seasons had they kept the studio open

I think you were being a bit critical about Violet at the end. Violet questioning her friendship with Becky at the series finale was kind of the point. For the past 8 seasons, Becky has basically kept this big lie from her friend that she was Wordgirl all these years. Makes sense why Violet would question their friendship, as she is probably wondering if there was any other huge lie her Lexicon friend has been holding back from her. And plus, Violet didn't flat out end her friendship with Becky after finding out, she just needed time to think. And process all of this. So it was nice that she decides to start over with Becky at the end, just with Violet knowing ahead of time that Becky is actually Wordgirl.
I think the issue is that Violet felt like she was *entitled* to Becky's secret, and that's not a healthy friendship.
You forgot to mention how many famous celeberty voice actors there are. Besides Kristin Schaal, there is Chris Parnell (the narrator), H. John Benjamin (Jewelry Store Owner), Cree Summer (Granny May), Patton Oswald (Toby), Grey Griffin-Delisle (Lady Redundant Woman and Ms. Questions), and Amy Sedaris (Miss Davis [the teacher]).
Oh heck yeah! They did not pull punches and I love it
And Weird Al
And Tom Kenny! Voice of spongebob lmao

I have dyslexia, and this was my favorite show. It really helped me, not gonna lie.
For whatever reason, there was this villain who was ingrained inside my brain. I think she was called the birthday girl, and her whole stick was that she always thought it was her birthday which made her feel entitled to get anything she wants. But when she didn't get what she wanted she would get so angry that she would turn into a giant she hulk. I don't know if there was much to her character besides that though.

I think Tobey has some serious issues but is also a ten year old and as much as I like her, as far as I can tell his mom really only scolds and grounds him and even disapproves of his love of robots. He needs someone in his life to teach him healthy coping mechanisms and constructive outlets for his anger. And so I ask the question that I often do about him; WHERE IS THIS BOY'S FATHER?
What his mom does is an important part of raising a kid, but it is one half of an incomplete equation and I think she's got too much on her plate to pull off preforming the other half as well. I'm so mad because deep down Tobey is just a nerdy sweetheart but he doesn't know how to deal with his emotions in a normal way and when you're a child who can make giant robots that means your outbursts pack a punch
YOU KNOW WHAT YOU ARE SO RIGHT!!! For all the analysis I did I’m surprised I didn’t catch this
@@AthenaPOfficial hehe thanks. And also for a little bit of an angst cherry on top;
With no dad in sight and a working busy mom, how many times do you think Tobey came home from school to an empty house? How many birthdays with no friends did he spend wishing on his candles someone would care? How often did he have only the mechanic puppets of limited capacity for any kind of human interaction to keep him company? The very robots that his mother thinks are a waste of time? How many nights did he stay up, wishing someone could understand him, hoping, wondering and imagining if his father, who for all we know he's never met or doesn't remember as he doesn't seem to bring him up, would be that person who would get it, would get him, if only he was there? Imagine Tobey, already from an even younger age, asking himself "what's wrong with me? Why doesn't anyone wanna be around me? Am I that hard to love?"
Basically, child prodigies are rarely ever okay and I hope the kid gets therapy.
I heard somewhere that Tobey's mom was more "successful" than her husband which is why he's never shown, even though that doesn't really make any sense. However, you're right that it seems like all she knows is discipline, to a point where she started stalking her own son, which is extremely disturbing when you think about it.

This video was so nostalgic for me because Wordgirl was my entire childhood, and even little 4-year old me agreed with most of the points you mentioned. I'm glad that the show I'd always love to watch isn't some false memory and actually exists.
4:52 it's the same thing for Superman tho, he's been protecting the world for around 30 something years and he still has to keep up his friendly enthusiastic personality and can't even show the tiniest bit of anger or else people would turn on him and say he's evil.
While yeah, Dr. Two Brains is less threatening to Worldgirl than other villains, I think Dr. Two Brains is the city’s best villain is cuz he’s more of a threat to the _city._ Also he’s super smart, he’s a scientist, he has a PHd, and sometimes defines the word of the day.
Not to mention that he has actively tried to kill her more than once.
Chuck and Tobey are probably the most dangerous because of Chucks crusher and Tobey's robots.
