Your work is excellent and I am enjoying watching your process which is creative fun. I have an hint for you and I hope you find it most helpful: purchase some styrofoam blocks (the kind people use for making flower arrangement) and leave the plastic wrapping on them as it will keep the styrofoam from crumbling...now stick your dresser knobs into the styrofoam while you paint them and and add the finishing waxes. They'll stand at attention like little soldiers and won't roll around on you. Thanks for sharing all of your hard work. It's amazing.
Today I redid an old vanity and shelf for a friend using Waverly brand in the same colors as you did. This was my first time! I've watched so many of your videos and this tutorial was so helpful. I will do a matching dresser tomorrow. I'm just not sure when she can put anything on the vanity and shelf. If anyone knows, please leave an answer. Thanks!
Hello Katcha, I finish painting my dining room chairs on black chalk paint from BEHR but when I touch them the color keeps transferring into my hands, I haven't sealed them yet because unfortunately, the color turned charcoal rather than black. I wonder how can I make the color look darker? and can a wax prevent the transferring of the color into my hand and my clothes when I sit on the chair? Thank you for your answer, I love your job you are a great artist you made it look so simple but is not. I am very frustrated with how my dining room table is turning 😞
Right! I usually have paint not on the floors but all over me lol 😂 Kacha I have no idea how you paint without getting it on yourself, not even your hands! Lol must come with experience, only thing I can come up with🤷🏻♀️

Hi ms kacha do you always do clear wax before the gilding wax is it like rub and buff gold in a tube this looks pretty I would do that for a rich persons house
Hello Gavin! You do not need to use clear wax for gilding wax. I have never tried rub and buff so I cannot compare it. The gilding wax I am using here is Oil Based and very strong. Most companies now make water base gilding waxes and the color will not be so rich!

It's now almost a year after you posted this video. The info on amazon about the gilding wax says to buff lightly as heavy buffing will remove the produce. So, my question is, how has it held up on the knobs? I want to use it for my bedroom furniture, but wonder if daily use of the the knobs will wear it off quickly. Thanks!
Kacha, I have a buffet to paint that is a mahogany stain. I also have some appliques to add to the very basic cupboard doors. My color scheme is brown, white, & turquoise do you gave any suggested technique?
My advice would be to make sure to use some sort of stain blocker like Shellac! Mahogany is the number one bleed through dark wood in my opinion! Have fun painting!

I have a q about wax. I think I bought the wrong kind of wax. It’s sort of liquidy and it doesn’t buff off right. does it matter about consistency? Is Waverly or Annie Sloan wax best?
So how does Waverly hold up? I've wanted to try their wax as well but it's water based, so does that mean it'll be susceptible to coming off with frequent wipe-downs?
Hi Brianna! I haven't used Waverly long enough to make say, but the first piece I did which was the red china cabinet is holding up well. I would imagine harsh chemicals or a lot of use would require a re-waxing? Have not used the product long enough to truly know the answer yet!
