    Your work is excellent and I am enjoying watching your process which is creative fun. I have an hint for you and I hope you find it most helpful: purchase some styrofoam blocks (the kind people use for making flower arrangement) and leave the plastic wrapping on them as it will keep the styrofoam from crumbling...now stick your dresser knobs into the styrofoam while you paint them and and add the finishing waxes. They'll stand at attention like little soldiers and won't roll around on you. Thanks for sharing all of your hard work. It's amazing.

    Hello Katcha, I finish painting my dining room chairs on black chalk paint from BEHR but when I touch them the color keeps transferring into my hands, I haven't sealed them yet because unfortunately, the color turned charcoal rather than black. I wonder how can I make the color look darker? and can a wax prevent the transferring of the color into my hand and my clothes when I sit on the chair? Thank you for your answer, I love your job you are a great artist you made it look so simple but is not. I am very frustrated with how my dining room table is turning 😞

      @@sallymusad2115 Waverly should be at Walmart and online, however, in this case it really doesn't matter what brand you use for chalk paint, but it does for clay and maybe mineral paints. Also, that Waverly was rather thick, so even though it might be cheaper, it's probably more expensive in the long run. I've never used it myself, but I did make some. It's hard to compare it though.

      Hello Gavin! You do not need to use clear wax for gilding wax. I have never tried rub and buff so I cannot compare it. The gilding wax I am using here is Oil Based and very strong. Most companies now make water base gilding waxes and the color will not be so rich!

      Hi Brianna! I haven't used Waverly long enough to make say, but the first piece I did which was the red china cabinet is holding up well. I would imagine harsh chemicals or a lot of use would require a re-waxing? Have not used the product long enough to truly know the answer yet!

      No I didn’t. Usually you don’t have to sand when using chalk paint just a good cleaning.

      sylvia seri I’ve never tried rub n buff so I can’t answer that correctly, although they do look similar!

      Thanks, rub n buff is a waxy paint in a tube. You can apply it with a brush or your finger. I think I will try yours because it seems to give a nicer finish.

    Which gold color did you get in the gilding wax please. There’s shiny, dark, etc.

    What are the benefits of using gilding wax over gold spray paint? Does there wax last longer or is it just easier?

    • @KachaFurniture
      @KachaFurniture  5 лет назад

      Gilding wax it’s much thicker and also is a wax so it protects. It looks much nicer than spray paint in my opinion and lasts a lot longer!

      @@KachaFurniture So long as it lasts longer! I don't want to put something on hardware like spray paint that starts to look bad after a year. Thanks!
