lol I feel bad for these foreigner families in law..Emma and Samuel are so Lucky they have the best Korean families in law they accept em and their culture they don't force em to be a korean sons in law.Best of luck to Samm and Samuel and their families their episodes are my favorite.
I hope everythng goes well for Nir. He seems like a good man. He really wants a job soon and while waiting for a good opportunity he doesn't waste time just by lying around the house( he make himself useful by doin chores) like the one from Bulgaria.
I admire Amy a lot for being in a new country and being successful, especially and as a female athlete where people are going to judge that more, but she did bother me quite a lot, respect and manners wise i'm glad she's learning korean, i just wish she didn't use informal language all the time like it didn't matter, i wish she spoke more formally to especially people older than her or her students foreigners don't think it's important and see the deference to elders thing as an infringement upon their personal rights, which as an American i do get, but to an extent we have to adapt if we refuse or don't make some sacrifices, it makes us look entitled i get that korean culture can seem kind of rigid to us, but as they say, when in Rome, do as the Romans do we can't just pick and choose what parts of a culture we want to learn, we have to learn to adapt even if we really disagree we should do so within the cultural bounds of respect and say what we feel respectfully if someone asked me to wash my feet before coming in their house according to custom or to cover my head, I would do it, not march in and judge and question or refuse to do it just because I didn't want to, because it's not my house or maybe even my country i get that her in laws may be a passive aggressive off camera or unfairly ask her to change too much, but her behavior with people needs work too
I hate how a lot of in-laws always say "Hurry up and become fluent in Korean". Do they know how hard it is to become fluent in a language? I think they take this for granted.
I would agree but both have been in Korea for a long time. If Nir is stay at home husband, beside resting after working hard at home, he should study his Korean. Unless he getting a teaching job teaching English (which requires Associate Degree at minimum [it does not have to be in English or Teaching]), he will need to know Korean to get a decent paying job. The more Korean he knows, the better paying job he can get. He can also locate a Employment Agency that assists foreigners if he is too lazy to learn Korean.
I like amy for the most part but I think she was a bit too much at certain points. Sometimes you should just sacrifice a little for the sake of politeness and respect, especially because her in-laws are super sweet and accommodating to her.
+Nala D Hi, it's me Amy. I may be too much, I can agree to that, but my in-laws being super sweet and accommodating to me is where the power of editing comes in and the ignorance of what's really going on plays here. First of all, my father in law WAS NOT invited out for what was suppose to be a day date with Young Bin's granny. Instead, he just showed up. He KNOWS I don't drink pop and don't like that piece of food he offered so pulling that stunt on TV was just flat out rude and disrespectful.
Nala D hi i know its jot my business but i was reading your blog and watched all the episodes so i am just curious how ar you now ? are you and your ex husband still in touch with each other ? i hope your fine now ( and also i live in japan and a short time in korea before that , and i cant eat rice or bread or noodles or i gain very fast i mostly live from goguman apples banchan like side dishes without rice and cereals )
omg! i love you're workout session. i wish i was in korea to take those classes with you. i would be in pain but worth it. Fighting! from Los Angeles!!
I think your response shows the disrespect. Maybe I should say rigidness. It's not Canada where you have to make an appointment (I live in Canada but understand this culture), and elders cannot be questioned. I saw where someone mentioned that you got divorced. I think it was for the best. That relationship couldn't be mantained. There wasn't enough love/sacrifice there. I think you will be ok but find someone with similar culture/values.
Korean culture is shockingly close to my Zimbabwean culture. I knew that we have similarities with the East but to see it is like wow! When he kept using his left hand I kept saying noooo! We also support our right hand with the left as a sign of respect, even if you are left handed people! Some westerners drive me crazy. Why marry outside your culture and move countries, if you have zero intentions to assimilate. I watched a documentary of these white women who married Japanese men. Those who loved their husbands enough to embrace the culture were happy. Those that chose the 'better than thou' attitude really suffered. Just marry your kind if you are a rigid person, fullstop!
I hope he finds a way to support himself while doing little-to-no work for others. He's one of those people who understands that humans aren't meant to slave their lives away for corporations, or conform to societal norms like robots.
Nir is a hardworking husband, i hope he has gotten a good job, Vegetables are expensive in korean, imaging buying a lettuce at 2usd as at 2015. that's too expensive, i bought two of that for 1 usd in my country yesterday.
It seems in Korean society that the man should be the bread winner OR a bread winner. Why don't Nir and his wife go and live in Israel? He could find work and it would likely be easier for her to find work as well.
seeing his reflection in the lives of all the lonely men who reach for anything they can to keep from going home standing in the corner casey drinks his pint of bitter never glancing in the mirror At the people passing by
I was like wow, I finally have reason to shut up about how expensive food is in Toronto :( I want to live in SK for at least a month. I don't know how I could do it hahaha
There might have been a love between then but its not only the cultural differences even if there were both korean or canadian there is a difference between there perspective of the world how they look at the world their minds their personalities plus their are both dominant and its the same in every culture if youre a hammer youre partner had to be the nail
I too enjoyed Alex. This new host is excellent and very qualified. I don't care for Tony. He whines too much. I think Amy is culturally insensitive and doesn't truly understand OR respect that Korean culture. She truly has a "white person's mentality" and her husband is a wimp for not teaching her and "standing up to her" defending his culture and defending his father.
Another episode is here so glad! Going to miss host Alex loved his personality.

foreigners don't think it's important and see the deference to elders thing as an infringement upon their personal rights, which as an American i do get, but to an extent we have to adapt
if we refuse or don't make some sacrifices, it makes us look entitled
i get that korean culture can seem kind of rigid to us, but as they say, when in Rome, do as the Romans do
we can't just pick and choose what parts of a culture we want to learn, we have to learn to adapt

lack of motivation and drive can't be taught or rushed.
It's silly to get upset at that because they obviously doo not mean ill. They are just giving advice as elders should.
I would agree but both have been in Korea for a long time. If Nir is stay at home husband, beside resting after working hard at home, he should study his Korean. If kids can do it adults can do it too, the in-law is mature and they know best.
The grandma is so cute even her dance was so cute 😍😍

Amy Berezowski, did you get a divorce?

He's one of those people who understands that humans aren't meant to slave their lives away for corporations, or conform to societal norms like robots.

Nir is a hardworking husband, i hope he has gotten a good job, Vegetables are expensive in korean, imaging buying a lettuce at 2usd as at 2015. that's too expensive, i bought two of that for 1 usd in my country yesterday.

+killerhawk2000 That's how the life style in SK is .It's expensive but if you wanna live there you must get used to it .
I was like wow, I finally have reason to shut up about how expensive food is in Toronto :( I want to live in SK for at least a month. I don't know how I could do it hahaha
Are tomatoes not native to South Korea?
I hope they come together
Does this programme still exist?
every girl on the show is my future wife. OTL
Nir's house is nice.
Alex comeback!
Amy is ArMY!
Nir's family looks very conservative, hopefully all will be good!
Where's Romina?
There might have been a love between then but its not only the cultural differences even if there were both korean or canadian there is a difference between there perspective of the world how they look at the world their minds their personalities plus their are both dominant and its the same in every culture if youre a hammer youre partner had to be the nail
Yeah! One of them needs to play the role of being Submissive/Passive". just like Adam & Eve instead of "Lilith" persona
well damnn fruit and veggies are very expensive in S.Korea o.o
Seriously.. KBS cut down on the commercials..
i think both of isralie and korean girl went to kashmir india they can be seen riding a shikara
i hate how they disrespect the guy for being a house husband but its ok to be a house wife.
poor nir, they kept telling him to use his right hand, when he's probably a lefty that's why kept using his left hand
nir its good he knows how to cook but he needs a job cuz he doesnt want a job till 10pm..i expect he will be counting on his wife rest of his life.

amy was watching grey's anatomy.. XD
Israeli's are darm proud of their chest hair and beaches hence the shirt and sandles
I don't like the new host. He's a little too rigid for the show. I like the bald guy.
