My parents bought a 71 Newport new from Timonium Chrysler Plymouth on York Rd in Maryland. It was a similar green with the vinyl top and same green interior. They got rid of it in 79 with about 56 k miles. I have pics of the car when it was pretty new. It was equiped with the standard 383 2 barrel . Car had AC, PS, PB and AM/FM radio.
Great ride! This one lasted until the late 90s and then had a 73 Newport that was even bigger than this one... that one made it to the early 2000s. So much metal!
@@turtle19dad I could fit an entire 5 piece drum set, amps, guitars, and small PA system with speakers ALL in the trunk. Roadie's dream. That thing was an absolute cavern.
This was also my first car. Purchased in 1977 for under 1000. Great car!
My first car too! I had a blue ‘71 with a 360. Mine took off pretty quick!

My first car now is a 71 Chrysler Newport 2 door hardtop in blue with a 360
Oooh nice! I always wanted the 2 door version...
First car I ever drove was my grandfathers 71 Newport white with blue interior, I was gonna make a hot rod out it
My dad had the cream/beige one. First one I learned to drive in.
If you can park this, you can park anything! LOL took my driver's test in it. It's a quarter mile long.
@@pumthuggee it's a beast but I LOVED it.
