Back in the 80s, a friend of mine lived in a tipi that was very much like this -- sleeping loft, wood stove, and all. It was deep in an overgrown xmas tree farm, where the trees were now so tall that the people who built the tipi cut tree branches to create a maze through the tightly packed trees, eventually reaching the tipi in the center. We'd make a big pot of chili, bring a bunch of tortilla chips, and have a great evening with friends. Slept there comfortably, even in the winter (we're in Connecticut). BTW, I'm a longtime fan (currently building out my high top E250 passenger van) and am impressed with the constant evolution of and improvement to your videos. Well done!
A very different take on the popular yurt design. Good to see people constantly innovating in the tiny house movement. Not to mention how awesome it is that channels like yours get to show people like me what they're up to.
I live in a tipi fore 3 years now I can read recommend it to anyone I also build in a half second floor fore sleeping and living downstairs great to watch this video thx
I loved this video a bit more than the others. I have no building experience at all and I really want to start building my self too and seing other people without experience creating such nice creations makes me event more to want to do something like this too!
I was really impressed with this project and the Camp stove with the oven was awesome I wish I could find one of those for my home for outdoor dining 👍❣️
Mat, that was so cool and i liked seeing you narrate! (I love Danielle too, when she does!) Congrats on the sponsorship of the video and thanks so much for showing us what can be done even with no building experience. Makes me feel better about maybe building my owm house someday!
That's cool! 3 people living on our mountain built a building (2 of them the cabins they live in) without any prior building experience. Where there's a will - and a blueprint and the right tools - there's a way! :)
Exploring Alternatives....Robin Vortex coils would solve heating issues AND create zero point energy for free by producing and reproducing energy for free over and over and over forever
CoolCat Carolena yes, that’s what I was thinking too CCC....I think they should have gone with a rocket mass heater, heats for longer periods of time w 10% of the wood..

Great vid! Our region is full of original accomodations like Les Pieds sur Terre. :D
3D printed fold flat aluminum eyebeams the kind used on fold flat aluminum ladders that swivel latch lock together to form the inner structure and base of the tipi. Cover base of tipi with bamboo concrete canvas cover inside of tipi with bamboo concrete run electrical conduit in tipi. Soak everything down with water and let bamboo concrete canvas cure. Use airalloy to insulate the tipi then cover outside of tipi with bamboo concrete canvas soak down with water and let it cure. Add windows to the tipi design place second floor in tipi using aluminium eyebeams and airalloy insulation and bamboo concrete canvas. A permanent tipi you can order on line and set up in two days and move in on the third day after all the bamboo concrete canvas has cured. 😊
Good job for no previous skill - not sure I am liking the style overall -- I am thinking I am more of a Yurt person. Best wishes to them. Wanting to see that underground geodesic. Cheers
It needs a ceiling fan, all the heat will go straight up. The loft would be to hot to sleep and the bottom too cold.Where do you dump your toilet bucket?
Is there condensation on the underside of the platform? or is there sufficient air flow to wick away moisture? Cool setup. I'd buy a small tipi like this to put on a platform for our grounds if someone made one...
Very cool video! Love your videos! Maybe you could make your ads a bit more creative? Thinking of a less constrained way like gimlet media podcasts have. Would come across more natural? Looking forward to the next one!
Effectivement le four doit être plus que suffisant !! Le loft doit-être très chaud... Je pousserait plus loins le thème autochtone avec des peaux, arcs carquois etc... C'est superbe !!! Lâchez-pas !!!
any more info on that 'water heater' they had? is that something that can be purchase? or is it a custom fabricated thing rigged from an old tank or something? seems like a great solution for hot-water where gas or electric are less available on demand
You know I like it a lot I like the fact that there's an upstairs Loft I think that if he could indeed hold a loft upstairs as sort of like a yurt you know there's a Gertz out there that that have lost areas like that which is what I want I want to I want to hear or a teepee where I can have a second story where I can put all my clothes or I can sleep on the couch and I have my clothing all on racks all inside of a fucking upstairs Loft like out of the way but I can see everything I own at one time but but not everybody has to see it that's what I can I dream about that all the time
Hey Everyone! Would you live in an off-grid tipi cabin like this? Thanks for watching!
Yeah.
Yes, especially with a loft bed like that!
I would absolutely live in that off-grid teepee. It's beautiful! Thanks for the tour :-)
Exploring Alternatives OH YEAH!
I could have lived there for a while if the tipi had been smaller and if it had more windows.

This is pretty much my dream house.
Off grid that is.
Ours too!! Thanks for watching :)

David Vershay Yes, I also thought it was an "American Indian response" to the Mongolian Yurt, with added features.
Great video! It's so cool they built this without prior experience, I'm always so inspired by that
Looks so magical in the snow! Very cool. I’d like to learn more about the underground dome.
This beautiful! I could totally love this simplistic teepee structure in a mountain setting. The door is my favorite feature.
would loves to see the way they put the tipi frame together. love the idea
I live in a tipi fore 3 years now I can read recommend it to anyone

Very cool I attached mine to my vintage airstream built a deck with hedges of tomatoes and chilies .
Absolutely amazing - good for people to do things like this.
I love it, but that shower cylinder is a bomb waiting to blow. Make sure you never forget that you're heating water!
Love it . Well done and creative guys!
Like a sports bar in the woods.
How can there be 36 thumbs down 👎🏻 on this video ? WTH!
Interesting solution to the shower situation. Clever! p.s. Been using Firefox for years. Well pleased with their performance.

*hits cigarette* Firefox..... haven't heard that name in years...
Wow, this is so cool!
Definitely would upgrade the water in kitchen and bath. Add more sleeping above. But it's still nice👍 would love an underground home though.
*Great Place for UnWired Rustic Christmas* ❗
Beautiful job love it ,I should put one in my back yard and rent out my house lol.
AWESOMEEEEEEEEEE GUYS, KEEP UP THE AWESOME WORX
Thanks so much Andrew, happy you enjoyed the video :)
Exploring Alternatives....Robin Vortex coils would solve heating issues AND create zero point energy for free by producing and reproducing energy for free over and over and over forever
Love the door! I personally would prefer the underground dome. The loft in the teepee makes me dizzy.
Absolutely love it! 🌼
Happy you enjoyed checking out the tipi! Thanks for watching :) :)
Crazy awesome. Thanks for sharing.
Super cool. I wonder what it's like in the middle of winter. That stove must work hard.
CoolCat Carolena yes, that’s what I was thinking too CCC....I think they should have gone with a rocket mass heater, heats for longer periods of time w 10% of the wood..

Beautiful and inspiring, thanks for sharing!!!

Loved this! I am looking for emergency off grid systems. Where can I find the hot water tank for wood stove ? That was amazing. THank you!

It's a wonderful idea but there's not enough natural light for me to want to live in it. Still it does look beautiful - especially from the outside!
It is definitely original, but not very inviting! I love your videos😊
Good bongo action there ;-)
Haha! Thanks David :)
It needs a ceiling fan, all the heat will go straight up. The loft would be to hot to sleep and the bottom too cold.Where do you dump your toilet bucket?
Awesome
😍😍😍
Would be interesting to know of the construction sequence. Did they do the wooden panelling prior to adding the outer fabric skin, or after?
Is there condensation on the underside of the platform? or is there sufficient air flow to wick away moisture? Cool setup. I'd buy a small tipi like this to put on a platform for our grounds if someone made one...
I have used FIREFOX web browser for several years with no problems.
My God! My dream place!
Approximately how much did it cost them ?
I'd live in it ;)
Very cool video! Love your videos! Maybe you could make your ads a bit more creative? Thinking of a less constrained way like gimlet media podcasts have. Would come across more natural? Looking forward to the next one!
That's good feedback, thanks! I'll make sure to look up gimlet media podcasts to see some examples :) :)

Do those guys have a youtube channel? Would like to see the projects they are doing.
any more info on that 'water heater' they had? is that something that can be purchase? or is it a custom fabricated thing rigged from an old tank or something? seems like a great solution for hot-water where gas or electric are less available on demand
it's just a funky cabin
WOW !!
Wonder what provides exterior waterproofing? Tyvek covering?
I want to do this sooooo bad.
Nice. I wish you told us where it is and how much it cost them to build it...,
Did you get a chance to visit the treehouse as well?
Perfection !! From a native american woman standards 😉😀!!

I would not live in an open tipi: I enjoy privacy. But camp in it oh heck yeah!
I’m very curious! Does anyone know where that metal canister for showers can be found???
Legit!
what was the general build cost, with and without land? (sorry in advance if that question was answered!)
and the door?
Firefox sponsorship, you don't see that often lmao. using the browser right now.

Hi !
Where are sold, where can be seen these showers ?
Thanks.
What is the name of the water tank system used in the shower?

So they basically made a tall Yurt?
Where can the little shower water heater be obtained
