- 8% mortgages are officially here. However, I predicted that 8% mortgage rates would come in 2023. But was I "lucky" in my prediction or was there something more to it?

Mortgages will be 10% soon.
At this point, I am not ready to say that because the Federal Reserve has given no indication they will take actions that would push interest rates that high in 2024. May I ask what you are basing your number on?

I can never belive the fed.
The Fed are not fortune-tellers but they do have direct power to act on what they believe. So far, they generally follow through on what they say they will do. However, it is no prediction on longer-term outcomes.
