Software settings are unnecessary. You can access controller settings in nearly every game you play, to adjust the deadzone, sensitivity and button remapping with any controller in the options menu.
I was a 2 back button guy, I have used 4 back buttons before but never liked the placement on 2 of the 4. The victrix has perfect placement on all 4 back buttons. I can get away with only having 2 back buttons, but because of the victrix I now prefer 4. Also the battery life is way better. Overall I’m not biased, I like both controllers, I’m not sending either of them back.
I bought the Victrix 2 weeks ago and returned it the next day. It’s only $20 cheaper than the Edge. But it doesn’t have some simple features like vibration. The plastic also feels very cheap. I also couldn’t figure out how to turn on my PS from sleep mode with the Victrix. I had the dongle in the USBC front port and nothing. I just got my Edge last week and it’s definitely the better choice imo. The battery is okay. I don’t play more thank 4-5 hours at a time so It’s never an issue for me. I did put all the setting on low/dim.
Currently I use the nacon unlimited on ps5 and its software every time you understand it you go alone and it's great. The edge calls my attention for that part of adjusting the sensitivity to your liking. but the fact that the battery does not last at all and that it only brings 2 paddles makes me doubt that it is really a pro controller. I would go for the besavior x1000. Thank you very much for your comments, they are great...
Dude I just bought the Victrix and ABSOLUETLY LOVE IT. It's not premium, BUT it's not the bottom of the barrel. It's right at the middle I would say. The weight is actually just right and that was my MAIN concern and that's why I was on the fence of buying it. So glad I did.
tbh i like my victrix, i just wish the fightpad was just place differently... almost if the 'fightpad' logo should be swapped, its annoying to press square or x button that and if it was magnets instead of screws wouldve been insane. but overall i like both.
Thank you for the video. Believe it or not I bought the Victrix TODAY! I absolutely HATE the PS d pad for fighting games. Haven't had a PS since the PS2 cause of that d pad. I'm VERY happy with my purchase, and it's not made of a cheap plastic that another reviewer said. I'm sure the dual sense is a good controller, but it's just not for me. If they would fix the d pad and allow you to readjust the sticks then I would ABSOLUTELY buy it.
I bought a stick for tekken, but i've had trouble getting my jump inputs on stick so when marvel 2 came out i switched back to pad. but yeah the dpad is murder on the dualsense. But pro controllers are so expensive and they don't even come with hall effect sticks yet (victrix has an upgrade kit but it's an additional $40) so i think i'm just gonna figure out stick after all lol
You need to keep in mind that the victrix controller is made for a specific audience aka the fgc the only feature i wish the victrix had is a clicky D-pad
I love my new dual sense edge, despite the criticism regarding its price and battery life.. Well, imo it didnt matter as long as I have a cable and get the performance of what I paid for.😅❤❤❤
If you guys still can't decide which one to get then I have a suggestion for you. If you're a casual gamer looking for a pro controller get the Edge but if you are a hard core fps gamer then get the victrix pro.
The funny thing is the only thing that the victus has over the dual sense is that one of the thumb sticks is longer than the other one a quick fix to that is just buying a control freak thumb stick to make it longer and then that solves a problem for the edge. Lol
The dual sense edge modules are not cheap if you think about it, a normal dual sense u can get sometimes for about £45 or so, 1 module in the UK costs £20… if u wanna replace both then you’re basically buying another dualsense
The Edge is better on the PC than the Xbox controller, both natively and with the DSX app. It even has native adaptive trigger support in apps like F1 22 etc.
Honestly it just the lack of Bluetooth is what kills the BFG for me , being only connect to the dongle is major deal breaker for me beside the price. maybe when it half off I would consider it as a main PS5 controller
You forgot to say that if you want to replace the stick module then you have to pay $20 for just one stick which can either be good since it’s way less but you have to factor in if a new one comes out like a next gen if it’ll be worth the investment
"sort of, a pc controller", what problems have you guys had when using the PS5 controller on pc? I didn't use the original ps5 controller for long, but it worked flawlessly for me connecting via bluetooth..
So the Dualsense only works wired to the PC? Hmm, I should probably tell my Dualsense at home that, since I’ve been playing on it wirelessly on my PC from day one, no dongle needed 🤷♂️
In my opinion your weong in everything but build quality and maybe the adaptive triggers. The bfg has cheap build quality so point to edge. The triggers of bfg are nore responsive and and shorter hair triggers. I guess we can give the edge the point because of adaptive triggers. Other than that the bfg winn the rest. Paddles. Modularity, customizing, etc. Also the bfg can and will have replacement modules from 3rd party companies or even vicktric itself. Vicktrix honestly wins for me.
All I find on you tube is people reviewing it saying thay love it or don't buy it but there's no one showing how to sync it to the PlayStation I've had it since day one and still don't have a clue how to sync it !!
Sync the victix? It doesn't sync. You plug it into usb or you use the dongle It pairs to the dongle with the button on the back. Switch it to WiFi and you'll be good It won't power on the ps5 either. So don't try
Anybody with the victrix have any input issues? For example I would be walking forward in a game and release the toggle, the toggle would go back to Center but I would continue walking forward. Other instances I would lose complete control input and would have to unplug and plug back in and then it would work fine. I purchased about 2 days ago and will be returning
if your a fighting game player you borderline cant use the edge, they use ps4 so much in competition still, not having retro connectivity is a deal breaker, especially since sony could absolutely have let it work on ps4 but choose not to, also im not sure how you can objectively say 2 back buttons beats 4 regardless of if you use them or not
I have edge but play one game. Madden23 but the controller if you just play that game not worth it. I did try shooter game just to see and wow nice. This controller hood buy and does feel premium. I just wished I played other games to take advantage of this controller.
Total bollocks. Edge isnt a huge step up from the regular PS5 controller. It doesn't really do anything of major significance differently. The fact you can replace thumbsticks is a bit of a moot point as they're $20 each & that's pretty much the price of an entire new regular PS5 controller. Victrix is very well made - the fact it's light is absolutely on purpose; when using the six front button module you want an underthumb grip so you can use your fingers to tap the keys. You will absolutely want it to be light. It's very well made & designed & it works great with other games too - the four back buttons are perfectly places and feel great, the ergonomics are much better overall. Unless it's a driving game (I only play shooters on PC with a mouse) I don't tend to use the top shoulders/triggers; currently playing FFXVI and I just use the back buttons instead of shoulder - way more comfortable given the back buttons are so good... and of course we can Swith stick positions to the Xbox layout which is undoubtedly far superior.
I disagree with you about the connectivity that ps5 edge win because most people own and like ps4 console so ps5 edge does not work for ps4 whereas Victrix pro have all the connectivity so Victrix should be win not ps5 edge... I would rather buy a ps5 edge mainly because it is exactly the same as the dualsense ps5 controller but more features as you mentioned such as trigger, back button, software configure and look nicer.. but sadly, i wanted to have 4 backbutton instead of 2, and i was about to buy Victrix Pro, but backbutton just looks ugly and non-removable. :(. I dont like buying cheap plastic and no mic, no adapter trigger for £175.. so i will go for ps5 edge.
I would say try it before you buy it. Having 4 backpaddles is a huge deal, but as one review I saw on here a year ago, the reviewer rated it as the best 4 paddle controller he has ever used. I bought it myself, and as far as my hands go, the controller is perfect. It feels close to a Switch Pro controller, the 4 paddles are in comfortable positions, and the default D-Pad is actually kind of nice, I never felt the need to switch it out. Also, I haven't played with the controller for a long time, but when I did, it wasn't greased up like my Dualshock controllers usually are. Additionally, you shouldn't use your controller for a mic/mic input. Adaptive triggers is a bell and whistle accessory; It compliments the action that is displayed in the game, but yields no advantage in a competitive format. The Victrix is built for competitive play and at a reasonable price compared to other competitive controllers.
The victrix looks like what it is a cheaply made 3rd party controller, its trying to be all things to all people its not for me never had good experiences with 3rd party stuff i have the edge and yes its way over priced but you have that 1st party quality and its something i use everyday so its worth the price to me, although i hate saying a £200 controller is worth the price lol.
I know I am a year too late for this comment, but in case anyone else wanted to know and stumbles across this thread, the only way to use Victrix with Xbox is to use a Cronus Zen. Switch the controller into PC mode, change the emulator to Xbox in the Zen Studio software, and the controller should work with no issues. This is under the assumption that it should work, cause I use the Victrix on the Switch, and that was the only way I was able to make the controller work on there (expect I switch the emulation to Switch, not Xbox).
Great video. I would like to know which one you recommend between the 2. I currently have 2 Dualsense and the 2 bottom of the drift after a few months. So I'm a bit afraid of the EDGE. Is the Edge better protected than the dualsense against Drift?! I'm very interested in the Victrix but I've read several reviews describing it as a cheap controller. So I'm curious to hear your opinion.
