Roby Bhattacharyya - Physician Scientist

Roby Bhattacharyya, an associate member at the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard, describes his lab’s research aimed at understanding mechanisms of antibiotic resistance, developing new molecular diagnostics for resistant infections, and elucidating the immune dysregulation that occurs in patients with sepsis. Bhattacharyya, who is an assistant professor in the Infectious Diseases Division of Massachusetts General Hospital Department of Medicine, where he is an attending physician, explains how his roles as a doctor and as an experimental researcher inform one another in valuable ways.
