- While in Barcelona the cast of Fuck, That's Delicious was treated to a tour of the La Boqueria. The first record of this site being a market dates from 1217, but it wasn't until 2016 that three titans of rap music dined on the premises. In this video Action Bronson, The Alchemist, and Meyhem Lauren dine on Catalonian classics, like squid with garlic and eggs, Jamon Iberico, and Cava.

what I love about action is that he's a rapper, cool ass dude, likes getting fucked up and joking around, but at the end of the day, the glue of this show is that he's actually extremely knowledgable in the culinary arts

your the most humble dude I've seen on vice!!! sharing food from the same plate is very humbling, and it shows a kind of love for food! I was taught as a child from my grandmother to always respect people and their offerings and if they offer you food from their plate to try it be grateful, something a lot of people have forgot about. just choose who you hang out with and who you come in contact with. you can always tell by their character.
The thing I like about Action is he knows he's doing a schtick, he's self-aware, and he doesn't take himself too seriously.

almost nothing that they show here is food from cataluña, salmorejo is from cordoba for example, the jamon iberico de jabugo is from huelva, the only thing is from cataluña is the cava and is a copy of champagne. what u saw here you cant eat it at any part of andalucia, murcia, valencia and cataluña.

My bad, thats is correct. I'm after all from Amsterdam, we mainly smoke papers here. I made the statement because Action is often smoking during his chef-hours (on tape at least) and also because the majority of the people that use weed don't vaporize it or something.
To be honest I find it inspiring that your a chef, for me being a chef is like what guitar would've been if I never learned it. I so want to learn how to use the instruments of the kitchen. Def on my bucket list of learning things.

Any know what it is? Looks like it is one of those secret magical ingredients that turns an ordinary dish into extra ordinary. Need to get my hands on it!
It seems to be a type of sofrito, that you simmer and cook very slowly and reduce it to concentrate it. The guy says "lento, lento, lento", which means slow. He says they put it on everything. The only reference i could find was equal parts tomato and onion, plus bay leaf and garclic, crushed cooked and reduced, but obviously here its more complex because of the color, and the yellow smear on the side when he scoops, which not only says its fatty, but also has saffron. Im pretty sure if you micromanage and control the caramelization of it as it reduces, you can get a pretty dark color, but never black like that. Ill have to play with it.
