Fergus Henderson is one of the greatest chefs of all time, and you can see how much respect Action speaks to him with. He really invented a whole new way of approaching British cuisine, making almost medieval sounding food like lamb's brains or pork trotter into something people want to eat. And as well as being delicious it's good for the environment and respectful to the farmer and the animal to use the entire thing, with no waste. If you're wondering why Fergus doesn't really speak in the video, it's because he has Parkinsons disease, so struggles with that sort of thing now & isn't able to be in the kitchen every night any more, but St. John is still very much led by his creative vision. I was lucky enough to eat there once a couple of years ago and it was one of the best meals of my life. Every dish was something I'd never tried before and it was all insane.
There is nothing like getting some quality food, and pressing play on an Action Bronson/FTD episode. Makes my day every time. Cannot thank this man enough for being who he is, and moving the way he does.
@snow1366 I always tell my homies that if I was born and raised in New York, id want to move like Action. Respected everywhere, backdoor access to all the good spots. A man of culture.
Made me cry seeing Fergus serve Action at 4.30. No words needed, you can see the passion in his gestures and eyes. Remember watching the Bourdain episode when he eats at St John many years ago. Made me sad thinking that Anthony Bourdain is gone and Fergus is this ill. Still cool to see all the young guys pay their respects to a true legend.
When Action was carrying the food from the kitchen and said "chef" then waited for Ferguson and co. to walk first was a beautiful thing. Love the respect. Everything Action is magic
I've probably watched every single one of your shows but the respect and appreciation you showed as St. John was incredible, I appreciate you and everything you're doing to show true British cuisine and food culture 10/10
Beautiful food, wonderful people of the culinary world, casual vibe, and Action Broson? That's more than perfect. Love how polite and charming Action is, so humble and cool with all the people he met. Gotta love that he bring Clovis with him this episode. Please, tell us that there will be more episode about London, maybe on more part?
An incredible meeting. Back in 2014 I was living in London and on one weekend saw Baklava do Blue Chips 2 at the Forum, and ate at my all-time favourite restaurant St J. Bizarre and very cool to now see AB and Fergus having lunch together. Big love boys!
💯 Our food culture used to be pretty underwhelming, but for the last few decades we have been raising the game - and today, you can get some of the best food in the whole world here. People that still pretend it's not true are just depriving themselves of potential joy! Thank you, Bronson. 👊🏻
I know where you are coming from! I live in the Valencian community in Spain, and the disdain they have towards English food is almost offensive hahaha! They don't understand we actually have some delicious cuisine!
cannot help but love action. respect is earned not given and in the age of celebs famous for nothing he is someone who deserves all the love and respect he gets. he is a joy to watch
the soundtracks of your episodes are just amazing. These videos are always the highlight of my week. Thanks for providing these joyful experiences with us
This was on my bucket list restaurants to eat at for the longest time after seeing Tony featured it. Loved it when I finally went about 5 years ago. I've watched many RUclips food videos about St John and this is probably the best I've seen.
Probably because Fergus has Parkinsons, and so giving up his precious energy to lunch with Bronson is an incredibly special thing. You can hear how much reverence Bronson has and it's brilliant
Fergus Henderson is one of those nigh on legendary figures in the kitchen (think Escoffier, Robuchon, Keller etc.) and St.John’s is a one of the most important restaurants in history. For many chefs meeting him there is akin to meeting Michelangelo in the Sistine Chapel.
Can testify it is a wonderful restaurant. Excellent atmosphere, manages to feel laid back but super special and professional at the same time. Food is as described, simple but complex and delicious. Really quality ingredients.
While visiting London last year we rolled into St. John late one night with no reservation and asked if we possibly get a table, they were friendly and gracious - sat us in the bar area gave us a menu and took care of us, such great food, great atmosphere and great service.
Ferguson Henderson is a legend, and a GOAT, Bronson is the man for recognizing this great and (unfortunately) dwindling talent. Everybody should donate to a Parkinson’s disease charity, because that bastard disease is robbing us of some great talent.
I had the honor to have eaten at this establishment and it was an experience with such simple food but rooted with so much history. Wanted to drop and say shoutouts to the Spitalfields staff for taking in a lost wanderer feel at home. If I remember, they change the menu everyday. Anyone who has a chance should really drop by and experience the menu. I was waiting for this episode! Love it!
My favourite restaurant in the world. Just gets everything right. Everything is laced with a sense of respect and reverence for the ingredient and for the diner. Just amazing people who work there as well. Even the waiting stuff are a class above. So knowledgeable and tactful. Brilliant brilliant place. If you’re a meat eater and even a veggie! I’d highly recommend going by if you can. It’s pricey but not as pricey as you’d think.
oh man. I was salivating. European cooking is rustic, simple, and fresh. Farm to table'ing it since the beginning of time. Im Italian-I grew up eating tripe, livers, kidneys, ox tails, homemade pastas. All the flavor came from the garden. No preservatives.
I went to St. john and before I went I knew I would love it because I like offal and off cuts and gamey flavours. It completely blew my expectations out of the water it is best english restaurant I have ever been to and would encourage everyone to visit it
Fergus Henderson is a culinary British icon. Him and Heston Blumenthal are two chefs I would enjoy cooking with. I hope you picked his brain. With my herbals and a nose to tail carnitas I'm making ✊🏾
Damn, is it just me or is Dr Baklava looking way fresher in this video? Like... shining. This was the episode I was looking for from the british tour. I appreciate street food and I appreciate innovations but when you're going back to the meats, to the bones, I am in heaven. And all the memes aside there IS an actual british cuisine. Props to the crew and to the man himself.
My favourite restaurant on Earth. I always try to go when I'm back in London. Incidentally, if you ever want to go to St John but can't get a table, they also opened up a St John in Marlebone which has a slightly different menu and a fantastic young team. If anything the Marlebone branch surpassed the original for me when I went to both on my last trip to London.
Was nice to see Action pay homage to one of the culinary giants. A real unassuming man who brought the lowly offal to the world. Heartwarming and sad at the same time.... I remember his keen wit when Bourdain showcased him on several of his episodes. Is there anything better in this world than roasted bone marrow with a parsley salad on grilled toast?
We need Action & Clovis in Oslo for a summer time joy! Maemo for the high end & Nektar wine bar for some corner store type excellency. Lots of great vibes in Oslo!
I've had the pleasure of going to St John a few times as I don't live too far away and it's been exceptional each time. It's a shame you don't get to see Fergus out and about as much as he was in the 90s/early 00's but for obvious reasons due to the parkinsons. For anyone that goes you cannot leave without having the bone marrow on toast, it's so good we've ordered it twice in a meal before. Definitely try their other smaller restaurant in Shoreditch and their St John Bread & Wine in Neils Yard as well if you get the chance. You can see a more animated Fergus in past videos with Marco Pierre White and Anthony Bourdain as well, not too hard to find - he's truly a genius when it comes to the kitchen.

I was curious about Fergus, so thank you for giving some context. A beautiful video showing a lot of love & respect!
Thank you for the insight.
Thank you for this comment
Thank you for this!!
I’ll always remember his episode with Bourdain! Brilliant man he is.

And also Ferguson handing him the herb salad and salt with his fingers was wonderful.
I had the pleasure of working with Fergus and he is a sweetheart, always with a glass of fernet close by! sending love from Mexico City!

Bronson doing English food justice. Thank you bro. (Live in the Périgord and hear so much food slander towards the UK and its just not true)

The respect, the voiceover commentary, everything was terrific this episode
Nothing better than seeing Action together with that one French guy from way back. Vibes are always immaculate!
Fergus is a legend in the chef world. For me he is top 5 most influential chefs ever.

Netflix give this man a series. get him a place in london for a month or two. i could watch your London videos for hours
Where's the cakes that were in the thumbnail though? 🧐
You nailed it with the walk-in fridge pit stops aha. I work at a little Japanese restaurant. The cool room is where I go to collect myself.
I love the respect Action shows in whatever kitchen he walks into, whether its to a street vendor or a world class chef like Fergus.
Art is how we decorate space
Music is how we decorate time
Food is how Action decorates life
I’m gonna be traveling Europe in December, I’m beyond excited to go to all these places thanks to you Bronson. Salut.
Hope you have a blast. Make sure to pack a jacket. 😊

Right? Extremely underrated quality

I've watched many RUclips food videos about St John and this is probably the best I've seen.
It's so awesome how you get along with everyone!!!!! You learn a little in every visit!!! As do I love it!!!!!
You know when Action has his soft, serious voice that the foods gonna slap. And especially when Clovis is calm 😂
The most serious I think I've ever seen Action. And potentially not stoned hahaha

Fantastic to see gooseberries on the menu. A forgotten fruit from a British childhood in the 60's-70's
Beautiful
