Charlton Heaton is the only reason to watch this. What an incredible actor. If you've never seen the movie The War Lord it is worth watching for his brilliant acting alone. He was totally awe-inspiring in that role.
I am not a Heston fan, I never could get into any of his movies. But I watch all Jane Eyres and didn't realize this on made until I happened upon it on Netflix. I ordered it immediatly. It trails from the story alot but it's good intertainment.
Jane screaming “Who is it? Who is that person Grace Pool?” Is rather scary. Yet Rochester and Mrs Fairfax are good. It’s a pity that movie was so clipped and simplified
_8:11__ - I know this is a playhouse adaptation, and it’s produced to blend as much content as possible into an hour time slot, but when Rochester grabbed her arm in that rough manner and forced her to repeat, “...a coal from the fire...” that was a total turnoff, and a serious mischaracterization of who “Jane Eyre” is. I had to regroup after seeing that before continuing. It’s those little things that count_
The only reason I like this film AT ALL is Charlton Heston's Mr. Rochester. Incidentally, this Jane is such a sissy and she reminds me of Disney's Snow White.
85Lullacry *If you’re still looking - 2006 and 1997 is on RUclips, but 2011 is only in clips. I’m familiar with 1997 with Samantha Morton, it’s also on RUclips but BBC is holding strong onto the1996 version with Gainsbourg*
Charleton Heston is a cardboard character of an actor and always has been, although he had a certain masculinity. Here he tries to copy the great Orson Welles without any luck!
So happy to see Charleton Heston in this!

Yes, and the way she talks. Such a traumatic childhood... and she turns out all breathless and perky?

It’s only Charlton Heston that has me watching this dirge.
This Mrs Rochester looks suspiciously like one of the Three Stooges.
Holy crap, this Bertha is so freaking creepy!!
This Mrs Rochester is very spooky. If I looked up at that window and saw that crazy woman at the window I would have burnt out.

I don't think American screenwriters and filmmakers should do British Classics...this is very odd adaptation.
....yep
You should see the one with Max Baer, Jr.
_This showcase production is good for what it is. There are a lot of gaps that have to be filled in and many, many gaffes that need to be forgiven_
He has an appropriately deep voice for playing Rochester.

I really dislike the way Jane walks.
God yes, what IS that?! It looks exceptionally silly.
Everything about this Jane is WRONG. 😤

Does Adele call Rochester papa?
You know Heston can be really sexy on screen especially now but in real life, he pissed me off sometime.
that was the lamest fire scene I've ever seen!!
the way she pushes him out of that chair, her cry of panic seemed badly carried out and acted...so funny. ha ha
@MystickalChristian
Then you might enjoy "The Naked Jungle" (1954).
what the hell kind of fire scene was that?! equally lame and overly aggressive. not one ounce of romance...

And she magically falls in love with him. This is bad😂
